Furnishing Vault Suggestion

First off, great addition to the game. It's appreciated. I have 2 suggestions though.
  1. Can you up the limit from 500? Maybe to 1000? 2000?
  2. Can you add the ability to preview what's in there? So I can scroll through and get a rough idea of size and what they look like (like you can in other modes). I honestly don't know how this was missed as it would be so useful. Now I can't do that so you have to withdraw it, place it or preview it and put it back which is just loads of donkey work that can be easily fixed. Please add this. I moved most of my stuff into this before I realised this was an issue which was irritating.

Can you not just go in to the housing editor, set it to only show items from the vault and preview everything from there?

    Yes. Yes you can. :)

Akso, please make the vault useable without ESO+. It's basically useless otherwise.

    Thank you.

What would you add to ESO+ instead to keep its value (which is being reduced more and more)?

I really like the furnishing vault. It was a very good QoL addition. I don't like spending time building houses bc my RnG is so bad, its totally not worth spending millions or billions to have matching furniture. I wish they would expand the vault limit. I only drop off furniture in houses I dont decorate because the Vault keeps filling up😂 Im not against housing at all, its very beautiful in this game! A LOT of people are really into it. Those of us who aren't, look at the vault limit on a daily basis like this:😟

Iirc, at the time it was introduced zos explained that the furnishing vault was limited due to database / server / performance issues. Perhaps this is something they can revisit, now that they've started increasing housing limits and presumably going to continue work in that area.

But imo if they just increase the vault storage... people will immediately fill that and ask for more. There's no end to it. Some will always hoard up to the maximum. (I'm not judging this behavior, it's common in these games, I mean I used to play like that too, but at some point I personally stopped asking for more room to store stuff I don't actually need and spent some time cleaning up and have never had inventory problems again).

As for removing the vault from eso plus, well people seem to want everything removed from plus these days. There are frequently posts about removing the crafting bag from it as well. I'd like everything to be free as much as the next guy, but if eso plus doesn't have much to offer, people won't sub, and that income will have to be replaced somehow.

Perhaps they could consider offering the vault as a standalone purchase, but I imagine it would not be cheap.

I hope they do continue work in that area because moving a house from one internal category to another internal category is one thing (which Im very thankful for the new limits dont get me wrong) and increasing something like the Lakemire Xanmeer (or other 700 slot homes) to at least 800 slots is another thing.

Absolutely, I hope increasing the limits in the largest homes is a priority for them. I know a number of housing players who, like me, don't really buy the big fancy houses anymore because you just can't decorate some of them the way you want to.

It seems like a lot of unnecessary faff and extra work for them, when you have to be in a house to access the vault in the first place and there's a built in tool for it already there

500 is way too small still.

I've had to only place stacks of 10+ in the vault to optimise storage. The rest of my furnishings? 56 storage houses. It's ridiculous.

In an ideal world I'd like to be able to place every furnishing in the game in there... proof that I'd completed furnishings by having 1x (or maybe 10x  ) of each. I realise that's unlikely to ever happen, I mean... that would be like a 8k limit, likely increasing to 10k over a relatively short timeframe.

If I could fit my 5+ stacks in there though It'd cut down the number of houses I need to use for storage massively. 1000 would probably be enough to be there or there abouts but 2000 would probably be enough to get me down to just one or two storage houses for items I only had 1 of each.

This is still currently a limitation due to the impact of performance. We'll continue to look for ways to expand this as long as it does not impact the general performance of the game.

My idea was that you start with 500 slots as a baseline, then add a number per house you own. Something like:

5 for each staple home owned
10 for each classic home owned
15 for each notable home owned

If you have all the homes somehow, you would get a current max of:

    Notable: 1155 slots
    Classic: 260 slots
    Staple: 75 slots

    Total slots with baseline: 1990

So basically you can purchase slots by purchasing more houses.

I just want to be able to store furniture received from crates in there. I'm guessing it's some kind of filter mechanism because they can be converted to gems, but I'm fine with it giving me a warning before I stow furniture like it does when I stow mimic stones in my crafting bag.

Thanks for providing an update Kevin. Personally my hope is that the team is still looking for ways to increase the number of furnishing slots in the largest houses - to me personally that would be substantially more important than trying to increase the size of the vault. I know there are technical issues holding all of this back though, I don't expect it to happen overnight. Thanks to the team for their efforts thus far, with the vault and raising limits for smaller houses!

We believe this would be a meaningful change as well. And it is one the team is still looking into. Nothing to report yet, but it is on the team's radar.

It would also be nice if you could just deconstruct furnishing items and get some of the mats back. Some of the stuff you really don't need to keep in the vault.

I’d be happy if you had the inside & outside of some of the huge houses as separate instances so could have 500 slots for each. Would be happy with the loading screen inbetween.

Can you allow us to deconstruct crafted furniture at least? One of the issues i see is that once a piece is crafted, its forever unless a player goes out of their way to delete it. All this does is add to the clutter.

Would be nice if there were no BOUND furnishings. Pretty sure I have like 20+ of some event furnishings that I dont need. Seems like a waste to delete them all when someone can use them and create something nice with them.
Same with Leads. Those Furnishings should be able to sell/trade/gift.

Being able to decon Furniture in general would be nice, especially stuff like Antiquities, and would help a lot of us who struggle with space more than an increase to the Vault's capacity. I think going through the effort of finding and digging up the items that you need RNG to get the Lead from anyways would be a fair trade for getting "free" mats. And these things are harder to get rid of than normal Furnishings since you can't trade or sell them, you have to manually delete them.

But I can see where that could be a hassle and/or a drain to the database because non-craftable Furnishings would need to then have some sort of mat attributed to it where it currently doesn't, so even just craftable Furnishings being able to be deconned would be great.

In fact, we need more QoL for Housing that I'm surprised we haven't gotten yet, such as a search bar and/or filters. The long lists you need to scroll through is...painful (and we also need a search bar REALLY bad for crafting gear when we have as many Motifs as we do and have to manually go through them all).

It would ALSO be great if things could be streamlined more. Currently you have items of one type that are split between a number of different stations; for example Beds are in both Woodworking and Clothing. It can be hard to find something when a lot of stuff is so spread across different crafting stations.

Maybe we could get an entirely new station just for Furnishings? It can keep the current categories like Parlor, Convservatory, Lighting, and so on, and everything that's split between the different crafting lines would then be all in one place. Not only would it make it WAY easier to find stuff with it all in one place (especially when coupled with a search bar and filters like quality), it also means a lot less time wasted running back and forth between the different crafting stations.

When they do find a way to expand it in the future without impacting performance I'm always up for purchasing an expansion of slots on my Furnishing vault as long as they are substantial such as 100+ slots if not 500+ slots per expansion and giving us the ability to expand much larger than we are now. That way we could really increase our vaults storage making it more useful.. Or Buying a 2nd Vault. Just not like the Boar, Donkey and Packrat that only give 5 slots each to your inventory. And I wouldn't mind having a larger inventory, Maybe give an option to purchase one that gives you 50+ slots if you already own all 3 of those first kind of like I've seen before on the crown store on other things!
