Nice so we basically got rid of class identity now you want to get rid of sub-class identity, so people just stack all top dps boosting passives and deal 250k-280k dps.
I don't think balance would appreciate this change, because there are some trees that people only need to slot one skill to get a passive for its primary benefit. Do that on 5 skill trees and you have a character that is just too OP.
I do think the three trees should be reduce to 2 tree, one that is Primary with 10 skills, one that is secondary with 5 skills. The 10 and 5 isn't fixed, ie 9 and 6 etc.
That way a Dragonknight can swap out its secondary for a Necro's secondary and will get a whole new class 'Deathknight'. From there each class can have its own passive tree. Just like how 'Pure classing' is getting a set of passives soon. It should just be 'Class' passives and make Subclassing more of a method of creating new proper classes rather than just mix and match until someone finds something OP that needs to be nerfed, or something else buffed.
EG Dragon knight primary with the secondary of:
Necro - Deathknight
Sorc - Stormknight
Nightblade - Dark knight
Warden - Frostknight / Druid
Templar - Paladin
Arcanist - Spell sword
The characters class changes to something like that with a new set of class passives (instead of what is considered 'Pure class' passives).
If this suggested change happens, I am disbanding all of our guilds and going to another game. There is already too much cherry picking. Subclassing is a disaster. It needs to be removed.
Can't tell you how much it warms the heart to see more and more people who feel the way I do about subclassing.
IMO, they should nerf it by:
1. Not allowing you to transfer passives from a skill line. ONLY abilities.
2. All group buffs each class can provide should be moved to passives and only activitate while using a class skill from that skill line.
3. Only allow you to use class mastery scripts if you are pure-classed.
I think that would solve a lot of issues with the subclassing system.
