Tome rewards you wanna see?

With Tamriel tomes coming fast, a different conversation here on the forums got me curious. I know what I *think* will be in the tomes for rewards.
Mounts, skins, costumes, personalities.
Housing items like furnishings matching the theme of that season maybe, houseguests and maybe utility furnishings like transmute and other crafting benches in a new themed style.
Assistant things like bankers and merchants.
Motif pages and other filler like emotes and momentos and titles.

I really want tomes to be a success. I may not like that it's come to a battle pass personally. But I think that if the pass is a success, we will benefit. To be a success, tomes will have to have things that makes us want to buy it. A mount that is different in daytime and at night is super cool and fresh take on mounts but there's gonna have to be more and lots of it to fill pages of rewards every season. I know what I would like to see, I listed some above. What would you like to see in the battle pass rewards?

Post what you like, but I would rather not debate the merits of the battle pass. I feel like I did it to death and in the end it's coming. So let's make it worthwhile. Let's tell them what would open the wallet.

I want Skill Styles for the Werewolf skill line. Really, anything related to or usable by werewolves will get me to buy the premium tome.

Werewolf Should be Allowed to Sneak
Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

My wallet agrees, in this economy lol. But I've preordered every chapter since way back when Zos changed the definition of DLC and they became a thing. The price for paid tomes comes out about the same.

I don't play warewolf, but the thing I've learned from fallout 76 is get everything on the pass. What you may not like today, you might see in a whole different light tomorrow. And from what I understand, warewolf could use some love.

The Tomes are, afaik, still on the PTS. If you have the means of accessing it (on PC/Mac and have the space for it), you can go take a peek at what is available. If you can't, the short answer is basically Collectibles like Mounts and Personalities, as well as Consumables, Crown Crates, and Currencies.

I wonder if there's a list of all the stuff that's shown in the PTS?

    ETA: Yes there is:

Yeah, there was some preview for sure. I was more curious what people want to see. It's not just a few pages of 1 season we're talking about here. This is the way the rest of this game is going to go. Like sure it'll have collectables. I know I'd love to see different styles of crafting table. Like the clothing table in kynes aegis. It's the only one of it's kind in the game. I'd love it for a house of mine.

It's hard to say because I feel like Cosmetics/Collectibles already in the game would go into the Bazaar, since the point of it is to make limited or otherwise really rare things in the game more widely available, whereas the Cosmetics/Collectibles in the Tomes seem to be almost entirely new things entirely that haven't been released before.

Of course that might not be the case long-term or even early on in both systems' lifespans, we won't know for sure until they've been out for a while or if ZOS ever makes a statement about it. But from what we've seen of both systems, the Bazaar seems to be the place for previous/currently existing items, while the Tome is predominantly new Collectibles.

But all future content is going to be free going forward, they've said the only thing in the Seasons will be cosmetic. You're going to get story and chapter content for free. Later in the year they have the TG and Sheogorath thing, plus there's other stuff coming we have no real current information on, like the Sage's Vault and other things. The Vault is a system but could have quest/story stuff tied to it, and there's a number of other things (including more undisclosed QoL changes), so we don't know what all other quest and story stuff is coming this year.

Also I don't quite understand what you mean by content being reduced to doing tasks. You don't...have to do those tasks if you don't want Collectibles/Cosmetics. Just play the game how you want to. The content is there for you to engage in in the way you prefer. You aren't forced into doing them if you don't want to.

I mean, you could be right but I really doubt it. I think the bazzar is just like a little side bone they've thrown. A battle pass needs to be worth the money and will likely be full of rewards like we would usually get. Skins, costumes, emotes, mounts, furnishings etc. You need to want to rank up the pass to get to the next page. They will also want people looking at the stuff from it and saying oh wow where did you get this. Remember, this is replacing chapter revenue. They will want as many or more people to get tomes paid tiers. It works out to what you would spend yearly on a chapter. 45 bucks for tier 1 and 90 for tier 2 which is a bit more than the stacked pre order. I would argue though that most folks will likely go with the 45 dollar (this year) tier. Plus subs get the free one after a 12 month.

We can already see in the link you provided. Though it only shows 3 pages and you can be sure it'll be more than 3. Pets, costumes, we know there will be a mount and personality. Also there's a furnishing pack. You can expect the same and more. Those are just the first pages. The rewards usually get better the higher you go. The bazzar was specifically for bringing back past stuff that we thought would never come back. And maybe, they said maybe, old crate stuff.

So that's why I'm curious what people wanna see in the rewards. They only know what people wanna see if they tell them.

I've always wanted to be able to place the junk items we pick pocket in the world of find. The journals and trinkets and weird stuff we just vendor or launder. There's some crazy stuff there. Wouldn't mind cool companion furnishings. Also wouldn't mind a new companion in the free tier of the tomes now that I mention it.

I think dyes would be a shoe in for sure.

I love the question you are asking in the OP, what we would like to see. I’ve been pondering it and I’m finding it hard to answer. The only thing I can come up with so far is if they put a traditional wizard’s tower house in a Tome I’d offer to pay double for it I’d be so happy. Not a lighthouse, not ruins in a magical realm, not a tower enshrouded in mushrooms, just a nice, traditional wizard’s tower.

Edited to add: I’d throw an extra money if they would do different towers in different styles. We already have Tel Galen, so how about a Breton and Altmer styled wizard’s tower? They’ve really left money laying on the table for many years now by not doing these. That’s two Tomes right there I would automatically buy.

I'm not big on cosmetics, but I'm a sucker for houses (I use them as port points). So I'd love to see a house at some point - that would probably make me shell out for the premium tier.

Also...currencies that you can only acquire through one activity. Telvar, IA fortunes, etc. (Actually, I'd love a currency exchange that lets me exchange one type of currency for another, all in the name of "Play as you want.")

Otherwise, nothing, really. I have enough mounts, non-combat pets, costumes. I'm not into housing in the sense of decorating them, I don't use polymorphs, I'm not interested in more personalities. I might go for a music emote if it was something I liked, but there isn't really a lot of fluff that I want or need.

    Everything, I'm greedy.

    Ok, more serious answer incoming:
Thematic tomes that give us cosmetic bundles for races and themes underexplored that could use some cosmetic love like bosmer, nibenese imperials (we have way too many generic and colovian imperial cosmetics but next to nothing nibenese please zos), various daedric princes (clavicus vile, peryite, etc), various divines and other deities, ayleids, etc.

For type of cosmetics I want to see a good variety every season but I especially want to see outfit styles, personalities, skins, skill styles, custom actions/recalls, pets, mounts, and emotes.

Since the question seems like "what would make you open your wallet for Tomes", I don't know if they'd ever do this but: stuff like character slots, name change tokens, appearance change tokens... Stuff we'd typically buy with crowns.

We know they'll put cosmetics and utility in it, but I'm not urging myself to tell what cosmetics I'd want in them, cause there's always the "Premium+ bonus" and I don't want to give them ideas that "force me" on spending money XD

The tokens I mentioned before would be a great incentive but would not force me - the items of my dreams would, but I'm broke, so I'll just cross fingers and shut myself up on this XD

Ok so bare with me here. Your wizard tower got me thinking. I would absolutely love that but you know what could be a cool inclusion in the tomes? Prefab buildings for our properties. Not huge buildings. But a small tower to add, a small shed or barn. A small shrine. These things are already assets in the game. Really though I would live a wizard tower. I'm unsure why we haven't gotten such a thing.

I appreciate you enjoying the question. We know what's on the first 3 pages of season 0. But you can expect there to be 6 or 7 or more pages each season. With 3 or 4 seasons a year that they have to make attractive, that is a lot of stuff. They are for sure going to need our help and feedback to tell them what will open our wallets. As a long time fallout 76 player, a game with a battle pass I hope they emulate (and they have it seems in a few regards) I can tell you there will be banger seasons and ones that you will not be excited about. That's ok. So I thought it was important to bring the question to the table. I'm excited to see what people want.

Oh my God, dude, I totally forgot customized actions. I'll take any and all of those please. A cow mount would be amazing.

I'd love a house guest merchant that has a pack animal with him. I'd also love house guest guards. Ones that we can set on patching to patrol our property. We had this is swtor. It's been a long time but I remember getting a kick out of placing my Jedi or sith guys to walk around and troopers and stuff. It would be a cool house guest addition.

I guess I could have phrased it better. I just mean, the pass is coming and it has to make up lost chapter revenue. I don't wanna be forced into anything but I'm happy to buy it if it has stuff that appeals to me. I know this is probably true for many people. They will have to have a lot of rewards to fill 4 seasons a year, so I was just curious what people would be happy to see in it. What would get them to get a season pass. Zos doesn't know what we want till we tell them. So not forced, just what would make you inclined to want a season.

Quoting for your edit because you reminded me of three major items that I want in general and not just for tomes. First is more horn adornments and not just bosmer locked ones. I would love more full antlers, ram and other horn variants. We have several daedric skins and some of us have made daedric characters and it feels really bad to not have access to horns for those characters. I know dremora in this game often have the problem of bald and the horns count as a hair slot (zos pls fix every other game has dremora with more hair) but skaafin horns already take into account hair and skaafin npcs in game have various hair styles with their horns.

The second one is jewelry as cosmetic slots. A lot of crown store costumes have cool jewlery and adornments and it would be really cool if a new slot would be added to the outfit station for them or a new appearance section while updating some of the old pain points (like scars and body paint/markings and makeup/eye cosmetics occupying the same spot).

The third one is as you mentioned tail adornments/bags/jewelry/weapon cosmetics. Saw an awesome fan concepts from Isei-Silva, a wow artist, years ago and it made me infinitely want this kind of cosmetic in game. This could easily be a cosmetic for khajiit and argonians and add some cool character customization flavor.

Oh that's cool. I know a lot of argonian folks in game that would love some of that.

I'd love if we got different Customized Actions for fishing, like different designs of fishing rods or maybe even a spear fishing animation. It doesn't necessarily have to be in a Tamriel Tome (it could also be from the Crown Store or some Crown Crates) but we currently don't have anything like that in the game yet.
    PC/NA — Lone Werewolf

Werewolf Should be Allowed to Sneak
Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

Holy cow. I always forget fishing. Like most people in ESO unfortunately. I'd take any kind of spice up. New rods. New customized actions. Bobbers. They recently added fishing to fallout 76. It's not the end all be all but the mini game you play when you hook a fish gives it a little more than oh press the button. But any kind of fishing stuff would be excellent rewards.

Having varied things fitting into whatever theme the season will be will ensure it appeals to the widest number of people. Folks have some really good ideas.
