Tel Var Stones.

Hello, is there any way to get Tel Var Stones without having to play in IC?
I want to buy style pages that can only be purchased with Tel Var Stones, but unfortunately they are bound.
Once a day, I do a daily quest in IC (for Siege of Cyrodiil Merit), which is also needed for other style, but Tel Var Stones for this quest + from the box is a ridiculously small amount, so I'm wondering if there's another way to get Tel Var Stones.

I mean, is there any way to exchange my gold or my Crowns for Tel Var Stones with another player? I don't like PvP, but I need Tel Var Stones, so I'm wondering if there's any way to get them without playing in IC. (I know you can kill mobs, but that's really slow and there's always the threat of other players, and I also know you can farm IC bosses, and if I have a decent multiplier, I can get a decent amount of Tel Var from killing them but again, it's easy to encounter other players, and I'm not good at PvP, so I end up feeling more frustrated than having fun..., so I'm interested in a way where I don't have to play IC at all...)

No, they are rewards for playing in the imperial city and cannot be obtained otherwise.
-First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent.
Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

-Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.

-In-game mains abound with "Nerf" in their name. As I am asked occasionally, I do not play on anything but the PC NA Megaserver at this time.

The only way to get tel vars is by playing in the IC. If you want them very bad, but you’re not skilled at PvP and not interested in learning it, then the best solution imho is to join a guild that has regular IC farming runs. You will still have to put a minimum effort into your build to survive bombing/ganking, and there will still be some PvP to deal with, but at least you will have some company and farming will be more efficient.
Also, according to this forum, it is better to farm the sewers rather than districts. There are less players there outside of PvP events.

In Zeal of Zenithar event it was possible to get some, but not really much. IC is only real source.

Try to play in less popular time and less populated areas, use retreat sigils when you have much tel var, try to find friends to farm with you... get used to die.

When you die in the Imperial City, you always lose 50% of your Tel Var on hand. That means no matter how much Tel Var you acquire, you'll always net a profit of at least 50% that amount.

Every time you die, just deposit what you did earn, then try a different part of the Imperial City — I'd recommend No CP Imperial City (the less popular campaign for PvPers) and alternate between the Sewers and the City proper each time you die to a player.

you can just stay up in a platform in arena or any other district and shoot mini bosses and npc....if you carry 10k tel var stones you get up to X4 per hit-if you stay for 30-40 min for example you get about 1,5-2k per run
and without fear of loosing any and by doing practically nothing

I've got 90% of mine from login rewards so that's about the only thing that I'll miss with them gone - especially as I still have style pages to get!

do the quest in the arena district to save the citizens. you can shoot the npc's from the tower and don't have to get down. you can only do that once a day, but you can continue to hit the mobs and get some tv that way. if you have alts, you can do it on each of them for more. i'm pretty sure the quest itself rewards tv and then in the loot boxes you get, there's another little bag of tel var. yellow and red are best, they have 2 groups of citizens within range of their tower. blue only has one, so it takes longer, but not impossible.

it's also sometimes a daily reward. well... used to be >.>

Not without PvP, because the other option is Whitestrake's Mayhem boxes.

But if you do the full set of dailies in IC, you get 1200 just from the boxes. How many do you need for the style? I'm still working on the sticker book, so I haven't looked at those yet.

Yes, people do sell tel var. I’m not sure where to encounter these sellers though, I just know that the way the tel var is traded is by letting you kill them.

That said, the style pages I remember being buyable with tel var are locked behind you having a high alliance rank as well.

This seems like such an easy way to get scammed lol.

Even when I have sold crowns I used a broker service (TCE) as a go between. Unfortunately no such option exists here.

At least there’s a couple good ideas in the thread. And the main thing is don’t let other players get you down too much

Based on your region, check to see which faction usually has control of the flags when you'd want to play. Allied faction flags give a 33% increase to Tel Var, multiplicative with the held bonus multiplier, so if that's your current faction yay, if not, perhaps consider making a new toon of the respective faction to grind Tel Var on (since Tel Var can be banked and swapped between characters).

You could focus on making a PvP build and focus on fighting district bosses, joining a guild that does IC groups, or making a PvE toon that focuses on killing the grunt units down as fast as possible and going back to the tunnels at 2-5k/ just killing till ganked, or even ganking district boss players yourself.

So for what it's worth, there *was* also one golden pursuit last year that awarded 15k telvar. But it was during midyear mayhem and had mostly pvp or pvp-adjacent (pve stuff in pvp zones) tasks. But yeah there aren't really any alternate ways to regularly get any decent amount of telvar outside of participating in IC.

As someone else suggested, running some IC with a guild that does farming runs can be a good way to collect some telvar.

It's also extremely dead at off-hours, on PC/NA at least, to the point where I can often pop in and rack up a few thousand telvar without ever encountering any other players (and hey if I die, I get to keep half of it). And maybe complete a couple of the dailies. Do that regularly and it starts to add up!

With the new change coming Monday it will only get more annoying to farm. Best way i found is to play at dead hours for your server and just kill the district bosses. Assuming you can do a full run without depot or dying then you'll make plenty.

Running with a big group is an option but you get less overall. Sewer runs are slow burns.

Ofc there is also ganking but that's not worth it, at least until U49 when people have to go through the sewers to get out (or use a stone.)

Actually, I found a convenient way to farm sewers. I play the AD faction and always run to the spider boss, killing everything around me on the way, so that's 4 bosses (the last one on my way is the spider boss), random mobs, sometimes I get lucky with those roaming bosses with banners on them (I don't know what to call them, maybe flag bosses? They're worth a nice 2.6k stones), sometimes I get lucky with the "loot goblin" and get the coffer with around 2k stones, etc. After killing the spider boss, I port to Cyrodiil (via L) and from Cyrodiil straight back to IC. I put the stones I have on me worth over 10k in the bank (I only keep 10k on me because of the multiplier) and go again...

One such run takes me about 10 minutes and I get around 3k stones (when I'm lucky and kill some those flag bosses, then of course more...).
I farmed yesterday afternoon for about an hour and tonight for about 2 hours and didn't encounter any enemies players (practically no allies either, heh), so this seems great to me so far. :)

Just be aware that part of this is no longer going to work come Monday.

You won't be able to port out of IC when you have over 100 Tel Var anymore. It's intended that players find their way back through the sewers to base.

If you go into Imperial city sewers you can pickup a lot of tel var without running too many risks, other than roaming sewer bosses and the occasional player. You can pickup quite a lot just hanging around near your sewer base. Also lookout for cunning scamps that drop a couple of thousand they spawn quite close to homebases. My advice, go healthy and get something that heals when you get attacked, that helped me.

If you are solo, the Pale Order Ring is really nice for IC telvar farming.

After I do the daily I'll usually stick to the sewers for TV farming.

What I started doing was going out with 100 for the 2x bonus, once I reached 1000 tv port back to base.

Now I start with 1000 and port back when I reach 3-5k tv.

And once I reach 10k for the day, I move on to other stuff unless I've got nothing better to do.

This method has help me a lot.
Banner bosses I avoid are the DW and 2H ones as they are the most annoying to kill. Solo they will net you a nice payday. But for the most part, the effort to kill the IC bosses isn't worth the reward. You don't even get set gear from them.

As for the cunning scamps, don't hit them with any interrupts until they are trying to port out, otherwise they'll port away as the interrupt cooldown will let them escape...or do big damage lol.

Arcanist is my go to for farming TelVar. pull, stun, beam.
Solo PvP and PvE most of the time.
