Looking for Guild Minigame Ideas!

Edit: Since we're seeing great "Minigame" *and* more complex event ideas, I added a list of our bigger events below.

Hi all,

🎂 We're celebrating our 18th Guild Birthday this weekend with 3 days of events.
We have a bunch of scheduled (more elaborate) events and then we sprinkle in Minigames whenever we can.

We've been doing these for a long time and I'd love to find some new Minigame ideas to add into the mix.
Stuff that's quick & easy to run via guild chat or Discord.

Here's are some games we already have in the arsenal, anyone have more good ones they've used in the past?

Hide & Seek (of course)

Postcards from Tamriel (posting pics in Discord, they have to guess the location name)

Word Scrambles in Guild Chat

Popup Trivia in Guild Chat

What's in my Pants/Pocket?

The Linking Game
Contestants must link an in-game item that contains the answer. For instance
"--- On, --- Off" = linking a Dreugh WAX.

Selfie Challenge
Must take a picture at a certain location & post to Discord

Who's got more?!?

Would involve having enough room on a property (like a large "guild hall"), but scavenger hunts are a classic fun staple. In our guild, someone has an amazing Halloween house set up with X number of Undaunted trophies very cleverly hidden to blend in with the creepy decorations and whoever finds/screenshots the most trophies wins. Granted, now that all folks can use Home Inspection mode, that is made slightly easier but pile enough stuff around and it can still be quite a challenge when they blend in.

One of my friends built a crazy Plinko board at a property where folks slide down and try to control where they go, then see if they land in a "pick a prize" box at the end.

Musical chairs! Set up X number of chairs around a table. Put out a music box that the GM or an officer can activate/deactivate and be in charge of. Activate music box and guildies run around the table until the person in charge deactivates the music box. Music stops, every guildie quickly sits in a chair, odd man out left standing (because if you have, say, 12 people playing, have only 11 chairs out so one person will be "out" at the end of the music), odd man out leaves the area, house owner then removes a chair, music starts playing again. Rinse and repeat, eliminating one person each round and then removing one chair until you are left with two people competing to sit in the last remaining chair first. *Of note, one time we did have a game glitch where BOTH remaining two people were able to sit in the chair. The visual of them morphing together like that provided many laughs and I gave them both a first place prize because technically they did both sit at the same time. XD

My old guild (rip ) did similar stuff. One game I recall was an "Parkour maze". Friend of the guild leader allowed us to try her cours full of jumping, hidden passages and bridges made of random items like books or bottles. I know that there are players who build similar stuff in their houses, so maybe your guild should try that? I remember that we had ton of fun when we did it ^^

Lawn darts from the giants nose in Stormhaven. One person stands at the bottom somewhere and all the players take turns to jump off the nose and land as close as possible them. If they survive the fall they are disqualified, they have to splat and die so no rolling closer etc. closest person wins a prize

Scavenger hunt! House owner/event organizer hides objects (like Sir Socks Ball of Yarn) around the house and players have to find them and tell the organizer where each one is. Game proceeds until all objects are found, and the player who finds the most wins!

If your guild could convince the author of the Rare Fish Tracker addon to help out, I always thought that addon would be great to use as a Rare Fish Bingo game. It would require the ability to create a card that could be reset though.

This year is the Year of the Horse in China, and our guild held an event. The guild leader randomly placed horses in the residence and some interactive furniture, such as books, nearby. After the event started, members needed to find the corresponding horse based on questions, or name the nearby interactive furniture, or find the correct number of books.

Great ideas, @DragonRacer !! If anyone has a Plinko Board they'd be willing to let me EHT clone (or help us build one), I'd be very interested.

    Memory Game.

Can be done quite easily using EHT, a bit more faffy without.

I place four tables on a platform.

Assign players a table, several players can be assigned the same table.

I set up 10 or so items to be on each table, usually easily recognised/named items.

Using EHT I set these items to load on to the tables and then unload again, giving players a few seconds to note down the items on their table.

You can then rotate the players to all of the tables, highest number of items listed wins, usually I get contestants to whisper me their lists.

We do more intricate "scheduled" events and we do simpler "Minigames" (and some of them could qualify for either category).

My challenge right now is finding more "Minigame" pop-up kind of events, but with some of the great ideas here that are more complex, I thought I'd share some of the bigger events we do. Some are original ideas, most are shamelessly stolen inspired by other guilds. :)

Some of our Main Events this year:

    "Darts"
Players gather at a high point (overland, custom house build, we use the broken bridge in Craglorn) and have to jump off and die. Person to land closest to the target (an object, the host, etc) win. Rinse/Repeat for multiple rounds. Variation: "Naked Darts" :)

    "DeadPOOL" (see image 1)
A "survivor" tropical island themed game board is setup, high over the ocean (we use Topal Island), 12 contestants each stand on a crate on the gameboard and the host uses RNG to remove the crates one by one, causing the contestant on the crate to fall into a walled-off pen in the ocean to become dinner for the waiting Slaughterfish. Top x to remain standing win prize(s)

    Ball Busters (see image 2)
We set up a Notable home (700 item limit) with 50% Nedic Orb, Ritual and 50% decoy items to render Inspect Mode useless.
Contestants are walled in at the front door. When the game starts, they scatter over the property "cracking open" the orbs to see if they contain one of 3 hidden items. (i.e. sweetroll, melon, pumpkin, etc). Once all 3 hidden items are found, everyone is ejected from the home, the board is reset and the first 24 ppl to port back in get to play again.
Tip: EHT has a single-click feature to "turn on all interactables" for a quick (~3 mins) full reset of the board, then you just have to re-hide the items in different orbs.
Tip: The orbs are a Luxury Furnishing (20k each) and *should* be coming up in the rotation any week now. Buying 300+ is expensive, might want to ask guildies to help donate 'em.

    Thieving/Pickpocketing/Fishing/Farming Derbies
Exactly what it sounds like. Members who, for instance, collect the most blue/green/white/total fish, containers, etc win prizes. For thieving/pickpocketing, we use the docks at Daggerfall with the 2 ships + nearby surroundings to loot containers & pickpocket, using the nearby outlaw's refuge to reset containers. We're currently beta testing a new addon specifically dedicated to "derbies" and are hopeful it will be made public in the near future by the dev!

    PvP Duels
A bracket-style duels competition at the Hammerdeath Arena in Stormhaven.

    The Amazing Race
Players start at the first checkpoint where a game host gives each of them an item and a clue. Players must use the clue to find the next checkpoint host, and get the next secret item. First person to get through to the final checkpoint with all of the items wins. (we give them items to ensure they actually made it to all 6 checkpoints)

    Around the World Trivia
A guild chat trivia game where contestants MUST travel to find the answers. Stuff like "What is the name of the NPC dancing at the pub in Belkarth"? Which guild currently holds Shiniraer's kiosk in Rawl'kha?

    Deal or No Deal
Contestant chosen by being the first to answer a trivia question.
There is a list of 10 prizes "on the wheel" and we roll the dice. They either win a prize, or get a whammy (lose their stuff and they're out of the game. If they can survive 10 rounds without getting Whammied, they win a very large prize (i.e. a Million Gold, 3k crowns, etc). The closer they get to that grand prize, the more the "banker" offers them to quit.

    I-Spy (Spot the Difference)
We build out one scene at a house, clone it with EHT, then create "differences" between the two scenes. Contestants can play any time through the weekend and submit their guesses via a Google Form. First to get them all correct wins the big prizes, with smaller prizes going to people who guess some of the differences correctly.

    Jukebox from Oblivion (Hell)
This is a discord-voice game where song clips are played and each correct answer gets a prize.
We break it up into two sets of 10 songs. Each set of 10 songs has a common theme (i.e. "One Hit Wonders") and the sooner the theme is guessed, the bigger the prize. After the 2 rounds, we just play random songs with each being worth a prize for as long as we feel like.

    DeadPOOL Game Board:

    Ball-Busters Game Board:
    q2c3bqvfiurd.png

    Ball-Busters Hidden Item:

Please keep both types of ideas coming! Hopefully this post can become a resource for lots of guilds looking for fun ways to entertain their members. <3

The visual of them morphing together like that provided many laughs and I gave them both a first place prize because technically they did both sit at the same time. XD

This is so funny. We also have a diabolical fellow officer in my main guild. He does an event where he takes 6 of the furnishings "dwarven gear" I believe. The little tiny gear. He uses the eslwyer house with two sections opened. They're so hard to find. A very fun event with all of us in PSN chat.

Our version of chairs is something we call death chairs. Don't ask me how, a housing expert may know. But our resident housing guru has made a platform above a home made huge aquarium. We all sit in the chairs and she has connected them to the sweet rolls randomly. She removes the floor. When she removes a sweet roll, a chair disappears and that person falls to their doooooom. Till last man sitting.

Another good one is cosmetic battle. Someone pulls a mount or cosmetic or momento. Non crown store. Everyone else matches or they're out. Better with vet players though.

So cool to see all these ideas though. Gonna have to borrow!! Good luck with your event.

Happy 18th birthday to your guild!

Edited to add. At the same Elsywer house, the door that brings you outside overlooking a huge cliff and water. At the bottom there's a small island. Tiny. We do lawn darts. Throw ourselves off the cliff and try to hit the island. Good stuff.

Drinking game, participants need drink of their choice to hand, can get messy!!

Ten small platforms(statue bases work), set up a house guest to visit every platform and wait a few seconds before moving on and then set them to "random". You need to make the guest's path to visit each platform several times BUT only wait on one visit.

Split players across the bases, where-ever the guest stops, they get a question.

    Correct answer, everyone else drinks.

    Wrong answer, they drink.

Setting this up takes a bit of work, playing it is pretty easy, must admit I use AI for help with question ideas these days.....

That's a mini game in itself....spot the obviously wrong answers!! 🤣

Other than sharing it with the guild one time for a Halloween event, I don’t think she has it publicly listed. She’s a fairly private person mostly.

Ooo I forgot "Bobbing for Apples" or in my case I use pumpkins.

This one is easy to play but takes a bit of organisation by the Games Master.

Place a pool and add pumpkins, take a screenshot and number each pumpkin, assign prizes to each number, I do some good prizes and some rubbish ones too.

You need to trust your players because it's easiest to do if they can physically pick up their pumpkin of choice, so I set my house to decorator permissions.

My Halloween Games house is Daggerfall Overlook and I use the fountain there but any pool will do.

This can be repeated as many times as needed just by setting up more than one list of prizes. I do find ten to 12 pumpkins per prize list to be fairly easy to manage.

Just reload your last backup to reset the pumpkins! :)

@hiyde Hope I'm not too late to make a suggestion, but something I did in my house was make a mini hedge-maze. If someone in your guild has a notable home that isn't filled up completely yet, then maybe making a huge version of a hedge maze could be a neat event for guildies to try and run through.

One friend of mine also made a full on 3D maze in their house as well, with multiple stages, that had walls and floors you can fall through, etc. It was really fun to work my way through it. They also had a fun parkour challenge after the maze that ended on top of the roof where they had set up a little cozy tea-party balcony.
