Look at any other mmo with world pvp and the content is either dead or the game is dead.

PvP needs to be pvpers only and no one else should ever have the misfortune of interacting with us. Pvpers are fundamentally and ideologically opposite to the rest of the playerbase and nothing good ever happens when we interact, just look at the fourms every time mid year mayhem happens

Did you read the OP before you posted this?
I was especially considerate in my proposal.

    “opt-in flagging system”
AKA you participate if you want to.

I even suggested nothing in terms of new rewards other than what we already obtain from PvP, so there would be zero pull on people to participate if they don’t want to.

That said, I will never understand why people try to stonewall an idea that would have zero impact on their experience, other than populating the world in an MMO.

I did read the OP, I am just categorically against open world pvp even if it’s op in.

No no, not outside the "community sanctioned duelling spots" but "within city limits" where people do their crafting, socialise, spend time, etc. Feel free to duel next to the city, in the wilderness, near a wayshrine, far away from wayshrine, in the jungle, in the desert, in the forest, wherever. Just not in the city.

The same way as people are not against you talking loudly on your phone with the speaker on and without headphones "outside the sanctioned phone call zones" but when you are doing that "within the bus everyone else shares a ride in". Feel free to have a loud phone call on the streets, in a park, on a field, in your car, in the forest. Just not inside public transport.

i highly doubt it would work well, considering theres like 30ish zones in the game, and cyro itself is barely filling up 1 campaign

and if 90%+ of people never enable it, there wouldnt be many people to fight, wouldnt be more different than just dueling

Cries in 45 queue for GH on a Sunday.

this still doesnt make sense to me lol

45 people in queue for 1 faction is 1/3 of an entire faction pop cap in another camp

assuming the same number of people for other factions and that would bring up another camp up a whole bar of pop

more bars = more enticing for people to join

im not dismissing that the pop caps are far too low for a map the size of cyro as it currently stands, im just saying instead of waiting in a queue i would rather you know go into a campaign with no wait time and find something to do lol

Thing is Grey Host is the one that's percieved as the "real" campaign, the one that matters to go in, so people would rather queue for that at cap than play one of the less real ones.

(They should remove the PvE content from Cyrodiil so that people aren't clogging those spots up doing quests that suck anyway and fishing, anything and everything they leave in there should interact directly with the fort battle).

You need to account for target audience outside of the game too, because there are people who would like to see it and it would be buy point for them. So, speaking about 5% currently in the game is not a strong argument. It can turn out like this: overland PvP, big ad campaign - and new 5 million players attracted (and 1 million left who can't adapt for new system), because there were a lot of players who wanted to try, but without overland PvP they were not interested :)

With that being said, PvE should be for PvEers only, meaning all PvP sets and stuff must be acquirable only from PvP or free without PvE involved. It is not going to happen, so it is not opposite things as you described, but rather PvPers had to do same PvE to get sets as all other PvE players, so it is a big fortune PvE players are freed from PvP by devs, and unfortune what PvP players not freed from PvE.

OH, I actually know ONE change for PvP in this direction - they added TRISTAT POTIONS for AP, and this change was asked by PvPers for years, because you had to either make some money and buy tristat potions or craft. Everything else for PvEers only. Whine finished ;)

i wouldnt disagree with that lol

to be absolutely honest, if they really wanted to make both groups happy (PVE and PVP) then they should have a cyro camp that is strictly a pve version of cyro (fast travel to any keep anywhere, all pve activities like towns etc, they could even add WBs in to complement the dolmens)

for pvp they could completely remove all of the pve elements and maybe add more various pvp-related objectives (capture shrines for AP buffs, or some other related pvp buff like +dmg with siege weapons or something)

since cyro campaigns are instanced, there would be no harm in either, as pve players could queue into the pve instance, and pvp players could queue into the pvp instance

lore wise/immersion wise in the sense of the game story a pve cyro wouldnt make a huge amount of sense with the bigger war going on necessarily, but gameplay wise it would probably be a huge boon to both sides (pve players could finally explore cyro in peace, pvp players might see increased performance with significantly less overhead needed for all of the pve related activities such as dolmens, towns (non-guards), and across the map

like those random wolves along the roads between sej and brk, or fare and roe, for pvp sake they absolutely dont need to be there, and every NPC like that is processing overhead thats not helping performance issues (granted its nowhere near the same processing as say a 60 person battle, but dozens of npcs in the area dont exactly help the performance of that either)

like thats probably a way better suggestion than say trying to make an opt in toggle for overland that a small fraction of the playerbase would even bother enabling
