Just to clarify a previous post - apparently I had not done the quest that gives Irgnar’s and Gamwyn’s journal - I found it on accident tonight years after I thought I cleared the zone. So I cannot verify if those books are bugged post quest.

They disappear post-quest, so anyone not reading them during the quest won't be able to. There are a few books like that.

    Relating to Ashbound Hall and
All Books Requiring Access to Ashbound Hall - No access to location post-quest:
    Panicked Note
    Hastily Written Observation
Cannot remember them all off the top of my head but will add when the wikis update their info to show location
Did the quest Lost Among the Ashes. As an overview: in total there are 11 entries for Eidetic Memory to find.
5 of them quest related (with quest icon) - 2 outside Ashbound Hall at start, 3 inside.

    - Terinvel's Notebook - outside
    - An Offer of Protection - outside
    - A Trick to the Doors
    - Hurriedly Written Note
    - Terinvel's Lost Note

    6 without quest icon:

    - Dirty Abandoned Journal --> first room of Ashbound Hall; the only one accessible post quest
    - Rotting Journal
    - Hastily Written Observations
    - Note About Paths
    - Misplaced Journal
    - Panicked Note

Except Dirty Abandoned Journal all these books are not reachable post quest. Either they are quest related or their location is behind the first door inside Ashbound Hall, which is closed after quest and not interactable.
No post quest locations found so far.

Thanks for that. I'll add the non-quest ones in.

@ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno - This list is starting to get out of hand, especially whatever led to the decision to lock 5 books behind a quest (Ashbound Hall). Please provide some feedback to show this is on the Dev's radar?!

Yes please. In Ashbound Hall i was wondering, if it is intended that the first door (inside) isn't interactible. Would be easy to backtrack then, at least for these 5 books.

Besides this for example it would be nice to know, that/if/when quest related books are possible content of bookshelves.
Found 3 of those in there (Gristmung Hold) these days, before i have done that quests.

The First Dialogue of Mannimarco and Galerion - before freeing Galerion (later in The Deep Tombs of Xul-Haj)
Sahmazim's Vos-Toh Translations - before passed To Know the Void
and especially The Guardians of Mor Naril - which is not only quest related to The Gates of Mor Naril (also later in that story line), it's a quest objective there.

It would be helpfull to know, when all books are part of the loot table of bookshelves, at least in the related map.
Imho it's not so bad, if it would be like that always.

Any chance the team can address the bugged/problem list at the top, or at least acknowledge it, before you start adding even more entries to Eidetic Memory?

    Pretty please.

my jewelry surveys are still bugged. 0/25

Ok, going to need a little clarity please.

Have you had JC surveys drop?
Were they the readable ones - some are maps? So only the text ones are in EM.
Did you read them causing the green +frag symbol to disappear?

ok. i just opened and read 28unidentified jewelry crafter survey reports and 10 are now showing up in the library. luck of the draw i guess.

on another note, there are four lorebooks in Holamayan Monastary but i can't re-enter it. i'll try grouping up with someone maybe? Daedric Cults: From Exile to Exodus. Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 are the two i haven't read.

Have checked my usual spots for info and in-game for possible post-quest location for both books but there does not appear to be a post-quest location. The only way to access them would be to grouped with someone on the prologue quest. Have added them to the list.

    Added:
From Exile to Exodus, Pt. 1 in Daedric Cults
From Exile to Exodus, Pt. 2 in Daedric Cults

Edit: Just for clarity, the other 2 books in Holamayan have to be read as part of the quest so can't be missed.

Sorry, as a footnote just for clarity: 5 books to find in Holamayan, one of them is a quest objective and theoretically can't be missed (unless a strange group mechanic foil this). 2 of the other 4 have a million other spots where to find them in Tamriel, it seems that just the 2 added ones (+ the quest target) do appear in Holamayan only.

Only one mention to lorebooks in the PTS patch notes for update 49, but no mention of fixing anything on the bugged books:

Yeah, I parsed through them earlier. That is not to say they haven't fixed any - as of late they have included that in the patch notes

True. They did mention in the stream that they've added some new books at the stablemasters however, would be interested to see how many and if they've been added to the eidetic memory but I'm on console so don't have PTS.

I did a quick glance for my missing books and sadly did not find them (commonly missed/bugged West Weald and Solstice ones).

The new Mounts of Tamriel series has 13 books and Night Market Miscellanea adds 45. I think there is one more new one called Investigator's Notes under Military Orders and Reports.

Nice one, I've added the initial pages to the collection on UESP in preparation. :-)

The list of all the books are now on there but we need locations. I have created another forum page to curate a list of locations. If we find any with missing locations we can probably get them updated before they actually release:

    Hi all.

I did this quest in 2020:
Blood and the crescent moon (forum)
Blood and the crescent moon (uesp wiki )
Blood and the crescent moon (YouTube video)

I did not take two books because I was in party and they were taken by a friend and not by me.
    The books are:
    "Daggerfall Market Shopping List"
    "Verrik's Note"

I didn't know, in 2020, that these books were been unavailable after the quest.
Both Lorebooks disappear once a player or group member interacts with it.
    Now, I'm missing them both.

They are both showed in this video.

    Thank you!

    :)

Can confirm that the location of Verrik's Note is not accessible without quest (maybe dissapeared after reading also, can't remember) and Daggerfall Market Shopping List disappeared after quest/reading.
Didn't find post quest locations for both.

@Gabriel_H may i ask you for some small corrections in post #1, please? I use it sometimes as a kind of reference and copy&paste some english titles from it for searching (without results everytime :# ).

    Solstice Summations
Worm Cult Correspondene --> Worm Cult Correspondence
    Hezdatari's Instructions --> Hezsatari's Instructions

    West Weald Writings
Letter from Arados --> Letter from Aradros

My thanks would sneaky follow you forever. :) (maybe inadequate translated from german).

. Solstice Summations: Items Needed for Curative

. Solstice Summations: Letter From the Stirk Fellowship

. Solstice Summations: Worm Cult Correspondence

. West Weald Writings: Letter from Aradros

Any help would be massively appreciated ^_^

Has there ever been any expression of concern on the part of Zos to address these missing books? Perhaps a timeline for reintroducing? Khajiit would even settle for some kind of reset mechanism that might require reacquiring books in a collection, if it meant re-enabling books that have been locked out.

Khajiit still has a way to go to get all the books - 102 left, mostly in dungeons - but there are already a dozen or so that he knows he will not be able to get due to quest lock-out.

Forgive this one if this is misplaced or distracting, but finishing off the Eidetic Memory collection is one of the few things Khajiit has remaining to do in game. He is hoping repairing this is on someone's horizon.

Short answer not in many years.

Long answer, some of us are trying very hard to ask for this since they have said this year they are committing to better communication. We tried to make our own bug/feedback thread for u49 lorebooks and found all but 3 of the new books, and found one that is possibly bugged and tried very hard to warn them of such. There's also been a recent attempt in general to get some sort of response/visibility. So far we have received 0 official response on either.

It's a bit disheartening, especially since I know 10-15 players who don't have forum accounts and refuse to get them for feedback who also want to see them do better on lore/eidetic things but engagement on the forums for those topics seem low or just the same people so I worry zos thinks it matters less to the community than it actually does. Oh well, it is what it is. We keep hoping and we keep trying.
