Another PTS without a fix for Charm getting players stuck in terrain.

    Charm only applying to monsters works for the time being, (does it ruin dungeons by making mobs hide in walls though?) Why not brainstorm some other mechanical methods? I assume how it works is zos has a 2d path it figures out and then tries to make your character follow the 3d terrain. This complication probably causes you to ignore terrain if it calls for achieving the 2d path.

    What if they just change charm to do something like invert your WASD controls until CC broken? You'd probably have to prevent other stuns and have some sound effect go off during initiation for players to understand what is happening.

    What if it just locks your camera towards the center point and forces the W key at a locked movement speed.


    I always wondered with things like knockups being removed from the game. Why didn't they just force a fake character jump with an animation overlayed instead of some other weird scripted path that can get messed up?

    BG MMR should NOT reset, zos sponsored smurfing is a terrible design choice.
    PvP needs more incentives, even simple purple/gold mats would suffice.

    Hello! We just posted a similar message over here, and wanted to comment in this thread as well since it is specifically about the issue where characters are sometimes getting stuck in terrain after being hit with Charm.

    We are investigating the reported CC-related issues of getting stuck in terrain related to the item set and Warden Charm script (and all Charm effects.) Specifically for the Warden Charm script, with the upcoming Warden class refresh (our next one) we will be looking at every facet of the class including this script.

    For Charm in general, one element that we're investigating is if there are collision-related bugs with certain areas of the environment or fixtures. That's where you can help. If you notice that you or your friends are getting stuck in certain fixtures and/or parts of the environment, sharing the location with us along with screenshots and/or video would be greatly appreciated. With terrain and fixture issues, for example, if they don't have proper collision or pathing, we can work with our art team to get those fixed.

    I believe this is the wrong angle to look at the Charm issue. The problem does not appear to be tied to specific terrain, locations, or fixtures.

    The issue is with the Charm effect itself. A character can become stuck near virtually any non-passable object. This includes trees, keep walls, resource tower walls, stairs, or even beneath the ground. The specific environment does not seem to matter.

    This occurs consistently across all PvP environments including Battlegrounds, Cyrodiil, and Imperial City. If a player is Charmed while close to any object that normally cannot be crossed, the character may become permanently stuck until they leave the instance.

    From a player perspective, this strongly suggests a systemic issue with the Charm displacement or movement handling rather than isolated collision problems in specific locations.

    Remove charm completely. It is too buggy.

    Replace with Major Stun....6 seconds, Minor stun 3 seconds. Standardize all CC around that.

    Knockbacks are buggy too, but not as bad. Replace those with a knock down, in place.
