That would indeed be fun. . . although I chuckle at the concept of an alfiq tank. ;)

I know the logistics of this would be a little weird for gear but I'd really love something like this honestly. <3

I rather we get companions of races we don't have yet before we get another khajiit.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

Its very unlikely well get a Companion who is not humanoid.

All Companions need to use standard skills, which means all 6 weapons and all 3 armor types are a possibility. They're actively trying to reduce animations in the game due to older hardware, so making an entire suite of new animations just to make the one Companion be compatible with the Companion system seems... unlikely.
Not to mention that Companions also get to be dressed up, so that's a lot of new models for all armor and costumes, plus all of the riding animations when mounted...

Yeah. There comes a point when "this Companion will need an insufferable number of unique features" that pegs the "is this really worth it" meter. Just slot a feline Non-Combat Pet, give it a name and RP that it's an Alfiq.

We even have a couple of Alfiq Assistants who follow us around the same way Companions do.

Like I said above, it probably won't happen, but part of the problem is outside the alfiq merchants, there really aren't substitutes. Most alfiq have some degree of clothing/jewelry/fashion and noncombat housecats do not have that. We have several alfiq npcs and houseguests that have unique looks and outfits but for ourselves in overland we technically only have two (and if you do group content you often have people requesting you desummon them since it messes with people's ability to loot or interact with stuff for valid reasons).

Back in elsweyr promo we got this concept art of more alfiq outfit designs:

I admit for me it's more I'd like the option to have more alfiqs following me around and less a companion per say. Like maybe we could see a decon alfiq or an armory one. For noncombat pet versions, I'd be ok with seeing them but category wise it might be a little weird (though there are other beings in noncombat pets that are considered sapient so it might not be as weird). Mostly just spitballing ideas.

There's a civilian Alfiq NPC in Northern Elsweyr that you can fight. It doesn't have attacking animations, but has a death animation, so some of the work for combat is done.

Or we get an Alfiq Conjurer companion where the atronach/summon does the fighting, like this Legends card: LG-cardart-Alfiq_Conjurer.jpg

I think an Alfiq-Raht may be better for combat and animation size.

We can have a minotaur tank. Minotaurs are actually intelligent and having some that don't attack us would make sense.
Minotaurs once even partecipated in the Empire as citizens.

That would be adorable. Want 100%. I like the idea of making the follower magic based and using conjuration of beasties as their main role in combat. Although the current skill lines for companions wouldn't make sense then (sword & shield?). Not sure how you could make that fly but it would be a fun addition.

As much as I love Alfiq, I do think creating an Alfiq companion would pose some added challenges. Also, even though the Khajiit are my favorite race, I know some people have been waiting years for an Orc, Nord, or Bosmer companion.

Once those races are available, maybe the devs can branch out with other races like a Maormer or Dremora companion... or maybe even an Alfiq.

I think it is possible, you just wouldn't have the same inventory or capabilities as humanoids do. They'd have to be pure casters since they lack the ability to have weapons, for example. Their inventory screens would be different, and might need a different set of armor and armor types specifically for the Alfiq. They more than likely wouldn't have the same number of armor slots, so they would have to balance that out vs. humanoid companion armor sets. You also probably wouldn't have outfit capabilities (or at least you might have a very limited selection of outfits).

I think blocking could be handled by having the khajiit cast a summoned/bound shield, IMHO.

    Yeah like me.

Im sick of getting these hippy-like, furry, blue haired, cute, weak companions; I want to see some 6ft bad-ass Orc or Nord companions introduced with a bit of attitude (and i don't mean late teen stroppy attitude).

There's a tendency to release companions that are somehow "untypical" (a Redguard mage, a friendly necromancer,...), so have fun with your sensitive, flower-loving, pink-haired, underweight orc mime!
