Pledging to a faction does not prevent grouping with and playing with other players. Your favor is added to the pool your faction earns and when Night Market ends, you will receive the Helm associated with your faction at a quality level determined by how well your faction did.
We very much did not want to limit who and how players can play with each other with the system while also rewarded players in some way. When the Night Market comes back, you will be able to choose a new faction and thus, at the end, receive that Helm.
