PTS Update 49 - Feedback Thread for Lorebooks

The new Mounts of Tamriel series has 13 books and Night Market Miscellanea adds 45. I think there is one more new one called Investigator's Notes under Military Orders and Reports.

I would like to curate a list of locations for these books prior to the release in the hopes that they are not released with missing books so can I ask if people know where the books are, they respond and we can add their location to the list. For a moment I got a bit excited with the format and thought this was possibly official. I originally joined the forum way back when to communicate in the lorebook thread and I've wanted to see them all be attainable for a while. I currently have five bugged books and I know many others do to so I am going to obligatory plug the unofficial bug list in hopes at least some of them get fixed because it was promised a while ago that they would fix them and we have had few fixes since then and even silence on the book that was only attainable during the Writhing Wall if you did not own the content pass.

Anyway, my contributions to the current batch of lorebooks:

The True Nature of the Night Market-on a bench outside the Opulent Ordeal (trial)
Slumbering Danger: Who are the Opulent?-attainable by entering the Opulent Ordeal in the entryway by the banners, no group needed to grab

I do worry that "Join the Glittering Goad" might be bugged since it's not in the center ring like the other two but I could be wrong. I do know several dailies have lorebooks tied to them so some of these could be there. Hoping this helped some.

Also have people been tagging bookshelves to check if some of these might be on there?

I am back to more with a special thanks to @code65536 who let me know that all the dungeon books are obtainable without having to fight them since I am going to be testing the 4 mans next week at the soonest.

both Code and I think that Gossamer Crypt does not have a book, but given we're also seemingly missing the Gilded Goad recruitment poster it also is suspicious.

Nice one, added those two to the curated list and to UESP.

In order to get the Gilded Goad recruitment poster, maybe you have to collect this as a group of 4 or something. I'm sure I read something somewhere that a guild is 4 people and an Opulent is 12 people. With the Night Market being described as a group zone, maybe the book only appears in a specific group instance? Also, there is an achievement "Goad Favored", it could relate to that somehow and it could be a quest related book:

Another possible quest it could relate to is "Those Who Would Rule", selecting Glittering Goad and doing "The Finer Things" quest. Or maybe it needs to be read somewhere either before or after this.

From today's patch notes:

We have also improved some small bugs and inconsistencies with our new Mounts-for-Gold books.

We improved the positioning of Vol 2 in Glenumbra.
Added copies of Vol 2 and the Intro at Happy, Healthy Horses.
Added a copy of Vol 2 at Swiftsteed Stables.
Added a copy of Vol 2 at Saddle and Stirrup.

Sadly no comment on other books and didn't see other changes with my quick look of things.

What I did not find: Join the Glittering Goad*, Report on the Skittering Precinct, and Rules of the Night Market

Insight on the "Join the" fliers:
I think these are somewhat bugged so pinging @Gabriel_H for forewarning. My character that aligned to a faction and picked up the main quest could see none of them. My alt who could not pick up the quest but was aligned due to accountwide alignment could see the 2/3 we have already found. It would require an unaligned character to test but I wonder if these three lorebooks all bug and can be missed if you don't tag them in the center crafting area before joining a faction. I don't have a second account to test this with so it would have to be someone else. It is also possible that the Glittering Goad one is just bugged. Either way I won't be able to fully test that theory until live.

A note on some books associated with daily quests: you cannot interact with some of them until you complete a daily quest of a similar type from another district. Example, my friend could pick up "Urgent! Food Needed!" but I couldn't until I abandoned a quest from another district.

Either way hoping this info helps my fellow book hunters. We are very close to having all the books accounted for before live which is exciting. The only one that seems bugged possibly is the Goad one and the other join fliers depending on quest step.

I did not find them but I also got too busy to look again. I am assume two of them might be well hidden like "Something is Eating Our Eyes!" was so I'm less worried about those but after I asked a friend for help I'm thoroughly convinced that "Join the Glittering Goad" is bugged since the other fliers are half bugged.

I posted in the Night Market bug report and while the discord screenshots got weird (noticed discord's been deleting images faster lately or not allowing links to sites which is annoying...) what I said was thorough and accurate and testable for them:

I asked a friend with multiple accounts to test this for me because I only have one account and I have pledged it to a faction. My pledged to a faction character had the fliers disappear, while an alt could see the Thousand Eyes and Ruckus one. My friend went on an unpledged account to look for the Glittering Goad flier and could not find it. Both of the other fliers are in the center of the arena and I assume the Goad flier should be too but it is not.

I just want to say, for all the increase in communication and good ZOS is doing I'm incredibly disappointed they couldn't spare us one comment anywhere for this, be it the ongoing lorebook issues or the possible bug here....It's a bit discouraging.
