Rewarding Progress: A Missing Resource Buff

I think adding a very small amount of additional max resources would be a great way to benefit all players in ESO. This includes players currently on the game, as well as a small incentive to bring some other players back, and maybe even some new ones as well.

This small amount of resources would be 1,200 of each at the absolute max, or an even smaller amount, 500 of each in place of using additional CP. The way it would work is very simple, if 500 is the desired maximum to add you'd simply add a single passive with a maximum allocation of 500 points in each tree, and each point would allow for 1 of the corresponding resource. For instance. a single point in the red tree would give one point of hp, yes only one point. At the max with this system, putting 500 points into the red, green, and blue passives would give 500 points in health, stamina, and magic respectively.

The other proposal for the system, if 500 is not a high enough number and 1,200 of each is still reasonable, then for each point of CP earned, not spent, it would provide again, 1 of the corresponding points. This would allow for 1,200 of each resource, and the points would not need to be spent in any of the trees.

What is the benefit of this?

• Utilizes Unspent Champion Points (CP): The Blue and Red CP trees often have unspent points due to limited passive options. This proposal provides a valuable use for these points, with recent updates also leaving excess CP in the Green tree for high-level players.

• Rewards Active Players: Ongoing players gain a slight edge through continued CP progression, fostering a sense of achievement and incentivizing long-term engagement.

• Recognizes Veteran Players: High-level players who have invested significant time are rewarded with modest resource boosts, acknowledging their dedication.

• Encourages Returning Players: Players who left due to perceived stagnation in progression may return, motivated by a small resource increase tied to their earned CP or as a reward for their high CP level.

• Benefits New Players: Newer players receive a minor boost to Health, Stamina, and Magicka, enhancing their experience without disrupting game balance or causing power creep.

• Maintains Balance: The proposed resource increase (500–1,200 per resource) is small enough to avoid significant balance issues or power creep, ensuring fairness in both PvE and PvP.

The new CP system did away with a modifier to HP, Mag, and Stam, that the old system had, but this modifier was percent based, and it was also an extreme amount compared to this current proposal that is meant to just be a small incentive and reward for playing. What do you think of this idea?

As someone who is over 2k CP and doesn't play the game too much anymore, this would give me a good reason to log back in so I can have something to work towards. I also would appreciate the already added bonus of being 2k CP. This is a great idea and doesn't really change power creep at all because the number proposed is so low.

We need a way to bring some people back and this isn't a half bad idea for those veterans.

I kinda like this idea but also think it would lead to a lot of micromanaging. I haven't done trials seriously since CP1, but even then I remember we had lists of exactly how many points to put in each slot for every trial. I can imagine this will make optimised groups tell you to strip down everything to have as much as possible in this, like this passive isn't needed for this trial. It would kinda take away the flexibility you're supposed to get from high CP. It could also lead to higher and higher requirements to join teams

No micromanagement required. My suggestion is that for every CP you earn in the green tree your character gets 1 stamina, for every CP you earn in the red tree your character gets 1 health, and for every CP you earn in the blue tree your character gets 1 magicka.

Apologies, I misunderstood - I thought you were proposing an extra unlimited star to dump spare points into!

It would still push CP requirements up massively tho and 3600 is a horrendous grind - I still haven't quite made it in 11 years of nearly daily play
