The devs have indicated a change in approach to handling player requests, and we'll be seeing a lot of that with U49 and other things slated for this year.

What else would be good for the game under this premise?

Why not increase the default stack size beyond 200? It should help the storage, both from the player perspective and the database.
Why not allow players to queue up for duels? This would help a lot with weekly challenges. Maybe it could even be competitive with a leaderboard.
Why not allow players to trade AP or Trade Bars? Expanding markets with more options would boost demand for currencies and better reward those that earn them.

What would you like to see? Of course there may be legitimate concerns, but kind of brush those aside for this :P

    If capes were off the table due to performance issues for many years but are now back on, why not longer hair options and sheer fabric on outfits/armors/etc too?

    Why not finally allow swimming underwater and not just on the surface?
    I am aware for this one due to a few bugs over the years with water not loading briefly that they would have to reskin almost every underwater area that allowed it similar to how flying is off limits due to every zone being sculpted to look good on the ground level currently and not be seen from a sky view, but I think this would be easier to fix than the flying dilemma and I want it just as much if not more, have since beta.

    Why not allow more interactions with noncombat pets such as pet, feeding, play with, pick up and hold, etc?

    Why not allow players to have a spectral/ghost skin/aura like we have had briefly in some quests (by this I mean we have our gear and appearance but just turn spectral blue or gold like many of the unique ghosts in game)?

    Why not look into making emotes that interact with allies (hug, high five, dance together, perform instruments together, etc)?

    Why not unpair the cosmetic slot for tattoos/warpaint and scars so our scarred characters can have tattoos (same for makeup and some eye cosmetics)?

    Why not give us more cosmetic options like horns for not just bosmer and more horn options for all? We've had three horn/antler options since launch and they are all locked to bosmer only.

    Why not finally give elven vampires elf eyes instead of human? Why not allow dark skinned/furred/scaled characters that are vampires to look undead but also retain a darker skin/fur/scale color? Why not allow werebears and other lycanthropy options and more fur color options for werewolves?

    I know why some aren't a thing, but others completely baffle me and are not new. If I think of more I will post again but definitely interested in hearing what others have to say too. <3

    Why not allow us to put Ivory in the crafting bag?

    Why not give us the ability to unlock stolen clothing items as style pages. The only reason this wasn't done before is because one person didn't like how low quality they looked. But, all those disguises got added as costumes so why not these as style pages finally.

    Why not allow us to rename our weapons and armor using a soul gem. It would be fine if only we could see it.

    Why not allow us to toggle other players outfits and mounts to more basic racial versions for performance and/or immersion reasons as part of the upcoming accessibility settings for vfx. Make it a full performance mode.

    Why not allow us to give black hair to Altmer?

    Why not allow companions to store their own backup gear? Why not allow a companion section for the armory? Why not allow companions to move out of AOE?

    Mine are mostly about Housing of course. (And I'm sure that much of the reason why not is that many of us might have such long lists, which maybe intersect to a degree, but the devs are limited and definitely can't do everything all at once. I know for example that the Housing team may be working on some of these or at least have looked into them – a few can't be done any time soon. But since they can't inform us of their internal priority list or plans, on our end, waiting in the dark can be frustrating. Sometimes a simple acknowledgement of popular player requests goes a long way! But occasionally it can also open up a can of worms; some players won't be happy no matter what.)

      Why not expand the character creation options so we can use the NPC-only hair/eye/skin colors?

      Why not just unlock the Class sets and styles now that Subclassing is a thing?

      Why not give us a proper Maormer skin and ear adonments so we can cosplay them with an Altmer base if ESO has to be restricted to the 10 basic races?

      Why not give us costumes/motif styles that look like beloved outfits from the other series games (looking at you, Blue Velvet Dress from Oblivion)?

      Why not have some alternate werebeast forms as “premium polymorphs” that use the same animations and unique sounds? Werebears and wereboars were even involved in mainline games after all. I need my brown werebear skin.

      And why not take advantage of Subclassing allowing us to take any lines and go hog wild adding new Classes? I need an Artificer in the worst way, and the long wait since the last new Class gave me enough time to come up with another backstory that needs another Class as well.

      Only the ones introduced up to that point. The three from Solstice are missing - you can't even collect and store them away anymore, as they are classified as quest items now which automatically disappear at latest at the end of the quests. There's also no way of obtaining them again after the quest ended.

      Why not have a stickerbook-like collection for every stealable treasure (after laundering, so you successfully got away with it) so that you can show off what you stole without permanently dedicating an inventory slot or performing item ID voodoo magic? Preferably with a timestamp of when it was collected, like with achievements.

      Why not make alliance, appearance, race and name change consume no tokens once a year during the anniversary event? (This would also make it less problematic to attempt an update of expanding the base character creation options)

      Why not make all houses older than one year available for purchase with gold?

      Why not overhaul provisioning to make all food scale to your level and instead use the variety of recipes as a way of expressing the cultures of Tamriel and allowing for example a Bosmer to eat Green-Pact-compliant food for every role and effect they could find themselves in need of?

      Why not convert all materials past Ebony into Ebony and lower the max gear level to 50? With the new XP curve, people are blazing through CP10-160 much faster than they used to, and those materials are pretty much only useful once in an account's lifetime. At least as far as the metals go, none of the materials beyond Ebony really make sense unless we are meant to understand them as alloys of Ebony. You can't really top the solidified blood of a dead god (also known as Ebony) as a material unless your "better material" is just the same material but with something special mixed in, like a Daedric essence for example, or maybe Nirncrux in the case of Rubedite perhaps. And before you "um actually" me, dragon bones are in the same kind of category as a dead god's blood. Dragons are timeless divine creatures after all.

      I'll focus my "why not" suggestions on ideas that run counter to the established way things are done in ESO.

      Why not add a new Companion who grants you access to a new Grimoire at the end of their quest chain?

      I think it would be really interesting to help our new Companion find the inspiration to write their own Grimoire, and it would be a lot more engaging to have to earn access to a Scribing Grimoire through a quest chain, like how Soul Burst is initially granted to you. We only read about the author of the Banner Bearer Grimoire, Battlemage V'erissh, in a lorebook left on a table in the Scholarium. I'd want to interact with the character who publishes their own Grimoire — as expected, finishing that quest chain on one character unlocks the ability to purchase copies of that Grimoire on alternate characters from the merchant.

      Why not allow any werewolf or vampire enemy to have a chance to infect the player?

      If werewolf/vampire cures are easy to get, then it would make sense to treat regular werewolf/vampire enemies the same as those rare spawns. I say this because I've seen people try to get infected by the regular werewolves in Glenumbra, not knowing that it would never happen, and getting upset when people try to help them. Maybe add in Potions of Cure Disease (seen in previous TES games) as consumable items that can cure you of lycanthropy or vampirism? Those would be more immersive than using the Crown Store cure, and more convenient than traveling to a priest to cure yourself.

      Why not make the Imperial race and Any Race, Any Alliance free for the base game?

      In every other TES game, you can freely choose which race you want your character to be. Also, I've seen new players experience confusion regarding their character's alliance — they choose their preferred alliance, then select their preferred race (not knowing that their alliance automatically switched) and then create their character. What happens is they have to first buy Any Race, Any Alliance, and then buy an Alliance Change Token. Few people opt for the cheaper method of deleting their character and remaking them after buying Any Race, Any Alliance.

      Why not rework the Justice System?

      Track bounties by city or zone instead of having just one global bounty. I know it saves database space to only keep track of one global bounty per character, but it doesn't necessarily make sense to have your bounty tracked by every guard in all of existence. Being able to eliminate the remaining witnesses to remove your bounty would be a welcome addition, too. Also, finally being able to eliminate guards (though, they should not be easy to eliminate) would be another great change to the justice system. Finally, it would be great to be able to avoid getting a bounty while in Werewolf form as long as nobody sees you change forms.

      Why not add scribed Vampire or even Werewolf abilities? Scribing is a base game feature now, so it couldn't hurt.

      Why not add more of the existing ships and boats as furnishings to add to our homes with a port (or without, if you're into that)?

      Why not allow group duels? Two successfuly ready checks and you can fight up to 12v12 (or even just 2v2 if there are concerns of ballgroups bringing the lag out of Cyrodiil and into your average city).

      Why not make all siege weapon effects, but especially oil, uncleansable? People are spamming cleanse completely ignoring siege. Healing through the damage is one thing, but standing in a rain of oil unbothered, moisturized and in your lane just shouldn't be a thing. Maybe that'll put an end to "PvDoor" as well.

      I hope Werewolf gets a lot of customization options. While I think Skill Styling for the transformation skill would work, I'm hoping we would get more flexibility, such as the ability to match our fur color to our human form's hair color, the ability to add tattoos, war paint, or scars, or maybe special Outfits for both forms that look tattered in our Werewolf form.       I'd replace Roar with this ability on my damage dealer. Roar is a stun/fear ability, so damage dealers shouldn't use it. I'd get more DPS if I had an ability like this to serve as an extra damage over time effect.

      I'd replace Piercing Howl with this ability on a tank build. I definitely still need Deafening Roar for the taunt and the stun/fear, but Piercing Howl is a damage dealer ability and can be swapped out. Claws of Life is useful for healing myself in PvE, Feral Pounce/Carnage gives me Stamina in return, and Hircine's Fortitude is still a great self heal.

      I'd replace Infectious Claws with this ability on a healer build. I won't need the healing from Claws of Life, but maybe I'd want to support my allies by giving them the Feeding Frenzy synergy from Howl of Despair.

      Of course, something purely martial like a biting attack or a channeled claw swipe attack would be welcome, too! I really hope Werewolf gets a Grimoire someday.

      Why not give us the option to block other players bright and loud flashy effects? These effects cause a lot of discomfort for some players and are just plain visually annoying.

      Why not do something about the Sorcerer's flappy pet? Make it a lot smaller and make it sit when not moving.

      Why not block all pets in towns like they did with Companions?

      Why not block duels inside town limits? There is no way guards would put up with that in town.

      Why not let us choose our racial passives. those that directly effect on your character power like weapon/spell damage, critical damage etc. They already took the road of hybridization and mixing classes together so why not racial passives too?

      We could keep the first tier of racial passives as they are and maybe even add more that would be in line with said race, but it is stupid in my opinion that if you choose to play Nord you are pretty much "locked" being a tank or having defensive pvp build or if you choose Argonian your role "should be" healer. That is just stupid. Few races in game are so far ahead of others like khajiit or High-elf or Dark-elf.

      I would love it that I can freely choose the race I like then decide what passives I want.

      Why not add roaming bosses in base game zones, if we have this mechanic in DLCs?

      Why not block queue to IC from Cyro, when the character is in battle?

      Why not apply the trespass rules of Thieves Guild zone to the NPC houses in the base game? I still can traverse these houses with no bounty, while NPCs just hate me. They have their rights, let them set the bounty on the trespasser.

      Why not add the Marauder (ambusher) bosses to dungeons and trials? At the moment we have them in the Infinite Archive and Edge of Sanity trial. I get that it may break the achievement raider plans. Well, make them optional, like an additional difficulty mode, or maybe after somebody died only (so trifecta runs won't be affected).

      Why not add a separate rank ladder for IC, not for AP but for tv obtained? That might add some life to the zone beyond the events.

      Why not add more quest lines for vampires and werewolves? There is no more content to play in their skin.
      Ideally it might be a separate zone for ones. Yes, I see, I see :)
      At least there could be some quest branches and shortcuts for Vamp or WW, as like as it is for Mages and Fighters guilds.

      _Ability to choose the quest when interacting with the battleground npc
      _A clear indication of the assumed difficulty level in trials and dungeons to help new players

      _Akivements associated to the collection of furnishing recipes
      _Removal of all style stones for motifs
      _An increase of the bag space to 500
      _Guildhouse with sections and furnishings unlocked by members akivements
      _Skill styles that change the animal/daera a skill summon

      _More variations in the game map dependant on quest choices
      _Automatic eso+ subscription if you spent 300 euro in the previous year
      _Different interactions with the guards if you have a high PvP rank (if i steal an apple the guard should simply say "sorry general i diden't recognize you")
      _Max number of guilds increased to 7
      _Akivement points should mean something... maybe they should increase rare items droprate chance
      _The ability to start daily crafting quests in your house (i like the idea of starting and ending my gameplay sessions in my house)
      _Crafting surveys should completly be reworked and instantly give you the materials (at the moment those are the most boring ting in the game)
      _Fisher personality and some reward for fishing
      _Allow sets to be stored directly in the armory (my poor tank has to carry around so many armors he can't even loot)
      _Food buffs should not expire if you are in combat
      _Teleportation costs should be removed because many are simply porting in front of a house near a wayshrine favoring 2 loads to the gold cost
      _Random special events on the map like a dragon appearing where is not supposed to or a caravan of merchants passing by for 10 minutes and selling rare items for a low price or an invasion of goblins screaming strange tings or a crazed sorcerer npc attacking everyone
      _Lightning teleportation
      _More kinds of werewolves transformations (like the werebear in Skyrim)
      _The ability to trade gold for crowns with other players
      _The ability to choose affiliation with a daedra or aedra (religion) with associated perks (little tings not related to combat like better fishing chance if you choose hermeus mora or the possibility to be teleported in a random spot of the map once a month if you choose Sheogorath) And maybe an unique outfit exclusive with each aedra/daedric prince. Oh and a small shrine furnishing too!
      _A dedicated crafting station for furnishings where you can deconstruct them for materials, search by name/zone/category and preview them

      Ever since I have played EQ II I have been spoiled by the ability to climb why not allow that? I got the idea when I went back to Stros Makai to farm Goblins for Mirri

      This may pose a problem since many exits of the dungeons/delves are on cliffs to prevent players from entering from the end point.
