Personally i think removing damage from skills is a bad idea. Adding damage to skills that dont do any is awesome, but dont remove eruption and standard's damage

Old ways are inherently something to stick with as to not margenalize players. New ways must really earn their spot in a way that is crystal clear. The changed abilities have not done that.
Rest in Peace:
The Dragonknight
2014-2025
This commemoration is for the class that has constantly been plundered and dismantled by designers for no obvious reason while other classes continue to have coherent skill lines and feel both powerful and cool.
I'm fine with Eruption going away since we are getting the Spike Mantle dot+"selfstagger" bonus, but Standard is an iconic DK pve ult and having it not dealing damage is kinda bad.
Stagger need number tweaks, I do NOT want to go back to cast time version.
I don't think this is the correct way to split this poll, I really want standard back, specifically as a damage ult encouraging the non-firebeam DK playstyle, having two ults encourage very different playstyles would be super cool imo. I'd like eruption back, don't feel as strongly about it. And I don't care about having old stagger back, tweak the numbers back sure, but not the old version with the cast time into 3 instant casts.
Edit: I want to clarify that I don't think we need Standard of Might specifically back, just Standard as a viable damage ult. Buffing up Shifting to be roughly on the same level of power as Take Flight would be awesome, having 2 viable damage ultimates in PvE would be awesome.

pls bring back dk's identity of being the most powerful and dependant on their own standard, the design idea for a supportive standard is great but takeing away dks soul like that should not be the way this cool ability is implimented, and please bring back dks only ground dot (like there are no ground dots even in the kit, completely removing a thing dk had should not be the play in these reworks), and the stagger debuff should be strong enough that even if dk is bad in all aspects it should still be worth it to have this debuff on bosses.
Since the DK rework leak I wonder, why remove damage option from Ash Cloud? I'm sure going to miss combining Eruption with Hurricane to melt things down. RIP Eruption, it was awesome while it lasted, an expression of subclass identity in a way, where storm and fire synergize.
I find it interesting there are people voting they prefer the new versions of these skills, but all of the comments to poll are people who feel otherwise. I'd be curious in hearing from those who like the new versions of these skills, why do they prefer them? Would they be opposed to a couple of specific reversions?
Voting for "Old Eruption, Standard and Stagger" because I can't also vote for Old Engulfing, Old Poison skills and Old FoO too.
Lots have been written on Standard, Stagger and Eruption.
I understand ZoS tackling the weaker morphs that were almost never used even before subclassing. I also understand them redesigning mostly unused skills such as Chains or Protective Plate, and moving skills between lines to fit the sbuclass picture better (ie Talons, Deep Breath or Eruption being forgotten as dd skills, among others), and idk, even a complete overhaul of a slightly obsolete skill line such as Draconic Power.
However, the whole set of changes has turned DK on yet another class with a 5 second beam skill (albeit worse), keeping the pureclass performance worse than subclassed characters (which is arguably impossible to do without adding extra oomph exclusive to pureclassing), but now has made all DK lines absolutely irrelevant for all PvE roles.
Considering DK had two meta lines, one for tank, one for dd, and the last one was a good pick for tanks that wanted a solid selfish option that had cool aesthetics; now it's all for aesthetics, but they're all worse as a pick.
But hey, we get new animations. That also look like too over-the-top VFX vomit, but that may be just my taste. If the situation looked better, I'd try to ask for an option to toggle old or new animations, just visually, but it's neither a priority nor looks like a possibility.
It may be that in two years, when all reworks are done, we'll come back to think about this, and we'll wonder how couldn't we appreciate the brilliance in these changes.
It may be that in two years, when all reworks are done, many of us would have already quit, because at some point it'll take a toll on our love for the game seeing how a class we loved gets butchered, one after another.
I wish we all still play ESO in 2 years. Today, I wish the people in charge of balance and the new classes designs start playing somehow challenging content, because this hints to them being completely alien to the current state of affairs, even when there's good intentions.
In any circumstances, we can only wish.
This text used to said "Main: Dragonknight Tank". Way before subclassing, my raid leaders made sure I had many identity crises on both roles and classes. I tonked. Or dodoed. Or healed. Updating accordingly.
Main: Stuff-doer on a wizardry game. Still enjoying it.
