Transparent red skin in PVP

I've been noticing a lot of players using what it seems to be some kind of red ghost skin or something like it. It's very hard to see. It's not invisibility, like with nightblades, it's more like a ghost effect, but it seems to be permanent. It reminds me those new ugly red transparent Winged Twilights. What the hell is that? Can it be a cheat?

That sounds like the red recolor of Hurricane/Boundless Storm. Basically the same as the blue version, but red.

As a sidenote, I do wonder if that's gonna lose the invisibility effect when Sorc gets their rework done at the end of the year. DK's losing the invisibility on Dragon Blood (which I am very happy about, since it sucks not being able to see your character when you have an effect on you that you can't see), so we'll see if Sorc goes that route too.
...though I guess that would cause a bit more outrage than DK's did. People don't use Dragon Blood to go stealth mode as a PvP tactic, but as Lightning Form is a really important skill for Sorcs, I can see the invisibility effect being an added benefit to Sorc players in PvP.

People don't use Hurricane/Boundless Storm for the invis effect - they use it because it is a loaded skill. No other skill in the game gives you the combination of skills that Boundless Storm does - 1) major resolve; 2) major expedition; and 3) an aoe effect that helps put pressure on your opponent.

When we have limited bar space, the more stacked skills you can put on your bar, the bigger the advantage you are going to have in combat. Because this one gives you three important buffs, and because the skill line boosts your physical and lightning damage by 5%, this is basically the best option available for people wanting to do damage. The fact that they have access to streak on the same skill line also helps.

I really hope they remove the transparency during rework. I will consider it a failure of rework if it stays in. That is how much I dislike it.

Like they said it's the skill in Storm Calling skill line Hurricane. Subclassing killed build diversity in PvP everyone is running Storm Calling, Assassination, and usually Animal Companions or sometimes Aedric Spear as a third line, because those lines especially the first two are vastly stronger than every other class skill line.

Unfortunately half a year later and the devs haven't done anything to encourage players to use other skill lines. No moving the power from those lines into other ones or giving buffs to underused skill lines. For players that don't want to play a Sorcblade or against a playerbase that is 80% Sorcblades we probably just have to wait until the class refresh is done and hope they actually spread the power out of those lines to the other class lines.

Going back on moving Major Resolve from Hurricane to Bound Armor was a bad decision. Probably the only change that could've forced more build diversity and it was scrapped.
