crafting skills must be 50
research all traits
max primary crafting skill, etc 10 for clothing, 5 for jewelry, etc
learn complete motifs (there use to be 3 levels of motifs to increase chance - crown bought motifs no not count)

9 toons, 1 full master crafter with 70% motif knowledge
My mastercrafter got 0 master writs...of the other alts, i got a total of 2-3 master writs. Seems really bad when my master crafter can't get a master writ but my alts (all currently researching traits) can get some...but it just doesn't seem proportional to my character knowledge
On motif knowledge, does anyone know if the Soul Shriven book counts? I looked for an answer a while ago but couldn't find it anywhere. Same with Imperial. I'm guessing it doesn't because it's a racial but it's really rare too so maybe? I've never found a single one in 11 years and I loot everything!
I think it does. The base racial books don't increase, but they are blue. You need purple and gold for it to matter. And Soul Shriven is purple, right? On motif knowledge, does anyone know if the Soul Shriven book counts? I looked for an answer a while ago but couldn't find it anywhere. Same with Imperial. Yes, better to have 10 characters with a slightly increased chance than one character with maximum chance. Statistically the 10 characters will work out better if you want a lot of master writs.DenverRalphy wrote: »Because after 20 or so non-racial motifs, diminishing returns kicks in, and after that you're really just learning them to increase the chance you're able to complete the master writs you receive.

Imperial is interesting, though. Because if you make an Imperial and if the golden Imperial book increases chances, do Imperial characters have a built-in advantage? This I have no idea.Yes, better to have 10 characters with a slightly increased chance than one character with maximum chance.
