Vote to kick in battlegrounds

Bring back vote to kick in battlegrounds.. players with pve sets or just not set up for pvp are joining and make the players that are pvp’ers leave. If we joined a vet dungeon or a trial in pvp gear we would be kicked right away, it should go both ways..

At least they say, "thank you for the carry" from time to time.

Really this issue is only a problem because of the MMR resets and non account wide MMR. No reason after 12 years of pvp I should monthly be put into lobbies of players who dont even know how to cc break or slot gear. They should be in their own lobbies learning with similar players.

Then zos has to tackle all the other bg problems:
    • raised spawn platforms cause your team to be spawncamped and die as they literally trickle down to the ground. Forcing the losing team to respawn and drop down in fall animation for 2 gcds is a recipe for disaster.
    • No soft spawn protections are in place like if enemies get too close or enter they take slaughterfish damage.
    • The current spawn force leave is a joke...most matches are under 10 mins. Why are you letting these people even stay in game and get credit? other popular arena games like rocketleague kick players from the match who do not leave spawn after 30s. Solving the spawn camping and mmr mismatch issues would probably go a long way to get younger pvpers to not ragequit matches.
    • The team wave spawn needs to be longer to group up teammates artificially helping newer players stick together.
    • Half the gamemodes favor people who do not fight like domination.
    • Chaosball favors abusing your spawn area instead of holding the ball in a location on the map. You could make it only give points in an area of the map. You can also make the ball return to its spawn sooner, after 30s of being held.
    • Shorter duration that returns off your player also fixes the issue where players wont pick up the ball because they dont want a guaranteed death making them look bad.
    • The Werewolf and vamp transforms are still buggy and generally worse than your typical pvp kit. Most rather just not touch the balls all together because of this.
    I only use insightful

Absolutely will backfire—the option to kick will make players think early and often about kicking their teammates and blaming others instead of playing and trying to win. Being incentivized to tear people down and trash talk them to your team does not sound beneficial or enjoyable. If you don't like pug scrubs, join a battleground group.

People gotta start somewhere. A newish player, A curious PvE'er, a PvE vet looking to branch out into other areas, these people don't start out as PvP'ers, they become PvP'ers. I think we as a community should encourage these people, not vote them off the island because they're under-geared or inexperienced. PvP'ers are made, not born, and if we discourage new people by being d***s then eventually we'll run out of people to play with.

That being said, dropping a newbie in with experienced players is self defeating on Zos's part. It does nothing for anybody to have a newbie get wrecked on a team of vets and swear off PvP or have the vets resent new players for not carrying their weight. Hopefully the return of 4v4v4 is a success, I feel like a BG progression of 8v8 - 4v4v4 - 4v4 would be great for players who want something to work towards.

Lastly, mmr sucks. I get matches in minutes when it resets, toward the end of the cycle its 15-30 minutes in the queue to get a game. Fix that will ya? Thnx.

    Agree with everything you said.

The solution to mmr is and always has been an mmr based on KDA.

    This way:

All the newer players get grouped into bgs together.

All the healers who never kill and never die, or rarely on both, can stand in a circle and see who can heal their teams more until the timer expires.

All the tanks who do nothing but stand on flags holding block until they die can all be grouped together with their subpar kda and see who's better at running to flags and holding block.

All the sweats can actually enjoy sweaty bgs.

I see zero problem with this.

Everyone gets to enjoy the gaming experience they want when they queue up.

It also prevents griefing because your kda will dictate that you get what you give.

It also means that one team won't be overpowered by another team having two healers who do nothing but heal... which happens far too often. And it prevents exploiting overpowered healing mechanics like the plar healing ultimates that makes any bg look like a continuous firework show.

Lastly, it will result in not needing a vote to kick option, which i really so not like.

    @ZOS_Kevin

Please consider. This sort of kda will make all bgs more enjoyable for everyone except griefers...

I agree with everything except for this. All this will do is reinforce snowball matches. If anything, the respawn timer needs to be shorter not longer, and it should automatically release upon death (because let's be real, the times where reviving someone is beneficial are few and far between).

The best option would be a dynamic wave system like Team Fortress 2, where respawn wave timers are influenced by factors such as winning or losing (losing team gets quicker respawns), # of players (the team with fewer players gets quicker respawns, if applicable), etc.

Obviously that option might not be feasible, but having longer wave timers would only make snowball matches worse, as the players that don't die would have to fight for longer without backup, and the team that wins an engagement would have more time to cap objectives without resistance.

I bring my PvE build (one set has no effect for PvP at all) into battlegrounds just fine. not everyone needs to be sweaty to enjoy the game. Only annoying thing is sometimes in deathmatch when your teammate just camps the spawn as the last remaining person and drags it out, but that should be a bannable offense by report if anything.

Except I’ve gone through Vet dungeons and trials in a PvP setup and done just fine because I knew the mechanics, had solid survivability, and could deal damage.

Likewise, I was in a 8-man BG once with somebody who had 22K HP on my team. I thought that he was going to get demolished. Turned out he was a talented bomber who ended the match with 25 kills and only one death. That 22K HP player carried us, but it wouldn’t have happened if someone was quick on the vote kick trigger.

I’ve also never seen a game with a vote kick mechanic in PvP that wasn’t abused in some way. Ever. Hell, vote kick in dungeons used to get thrown around fairly liberally before people stopped caring so much about that content.

This is the beauty of my proposal. No matter your build or experience or skill, your kda will determine who you fight and who is on your team. It's a good plan.
