If there was a free version of the Craft Bag would you still Subscribe?

    Yes
I voted yes even though I'm not an ESO+ subscriber. I would be far more likely to subscribe if they gave it to everyone just for the crowns and minor perks like outfit dyeing and shop deals.

Right now I don't because I feel like I would be rewarding bad business practices.

This is me right now. For years, I subbed to ESO whenever I came back to it. Now I refuse to do so because the quality of the game kept going down and the monetization only got trashier and trashier.

At the moment, I don't subscribe as I find little value in ESO+. I used to take out year-long subscriptions. The Content Pass made me rethink hard, and I took a one-off payment rather than a monthly, because I really hate subscription models. I bought the dungeons on my main server, and cleaned out my inventory ruthlessly. When I started playing, there was no craft bag invented yet, and I managed fine.

If I need crowns, I will buy ESO+ to get them, because it's adding value to my crowns purchase. Unless there's a massive sale discount, in which case I'll just get cheap crowns. Right now I can't think of anything I need crowns for.

To me the answer is simple - No craft bag = No subscription from me.

Only to decorate once in a blue moon. Otherwise nah, I don’t sub now either, I use my chests for mats and wait for the free trials or the next time I feel like subbing to empty them. My solitude home is how I like it so I’m gtg

Not if they're going to make all the dungeons and content base-game content such that everyone has access to it. If you take away the craft bag, what else do we get as a perk? Expanded bank space and transmutation gem capacity and a small amount of monthly crowns? That's not currently worth the money I'm paying for plus, and I would cancel if craftbag was not linked to it.

I think zos would benefit as a whole if they expanded bank space capacity.

Or they offered more eso+ free trial periods.

Last year I think we only had a single one. Prior years we had atleast 3.

It makes me wonder. If New World would have had something similar, would they have survived the axe? Because New World had no source of constant revenue, and their store offerings were slim at best... perhaps if they would have had something like a crafting bag when they first started, they might have been more financially successful.

I bring this up because as much as people complain about ZOS seeking ways of making money, without it, ESO could suffer the same fate as New World.

New world had a stunningly poor battle pass and little in the cash shop. They also were charging a nuisance fee by making it so that unlocking the ability to use a style cost real money. Which discouraged people from caring what paltry cosmetics they had on offer. New World at its launch had a poor PvE part of the game as well because it saw itself as a PvP MMO.

I also think that they likely would have survived a few years ago as they were regaining players but Amazon wanted to pivot to AI. ZOS lost Blackbird for the same AI reason.

if you're that deep in the hole and you make p2w systems (like the craft bag) then you go deeper and die faster. if it wasn't for the portable banker, tamriel trade center and restocking bank materials addon idk what i would've done either since I don't have the $$ to sub and just make the one dlc purchase a year when they existed if it wasn't buyable by gold->crown trading.

After reading the comments I decided that I would be more likely to continue to subscribe because I do find all the perks very useful. But I would expect something of comparable value and impact to replace it as a perk.

    Qualified "no."

I already own all the expansions on PC NA add only need the sub for access during the infrequent times I'm on PC EU.

Once per year I have to look for stuff to spend crowns on (maybe start buying some of that stuff on EU now that you've made me think about it), so that's not a huge draw, either, and it's doubly problematic when I consider that I can get more crowns cheaper when they go on sale.

Except for the storage benefits, none of the other sub perks are anywhere near being deal makers or breakers at this point. But I'll note that I'm saying that in the absence of any concrete information on how the Gold Coast Bazaar and Seasons stuff is actually going to look and behave. It might turn out that those additions to the sub would be sufficient bang to justify the continued buck.

Honestly, I spend more on Netflix and Amazon Prime than I do on ESO and use those much less frequently than ESO, so the sub is still the cheaper entertainment expense.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Let me put it this way.

I once tried ESO+. But just in time I realised that it is designed in a very umm... lets call it in a "addictive" way. Bassicaly - it is a trap.

And then it hited me. I mean, imagine some one with ESO+ for some reason all of the sudden will be unable to pay for sub (payment method will not be accepted in US, or some other weird thing will happen etc). Imagine trying to "transition" to non-ESO+ & keep playing. Billions of items in a craft bag. Clogged bank & inventory. Being unable to use housing cuz of furniture limit. See where this is going ?

I would gladly use ESO+ if it was not designed in a addictive & I would even use "predatory" way. I simply do not support this type of design.

Most of the money put into this game is not put back into content. Instead it goes into shareholders' pockets.

I don't sub already, but I did take the €6,49 offer a while back. If they would have a "just the craftbag for €5 a month" I would take it and I think a lot more (nonsub) people would.

If they gave away the craftbag for everyone, but gave us equivalent value in return, then Plus could still be worth it, but it has to be exclusive content only to plus and the perceived value would have to be there. Maybe 2x expanded inventory, 4x bank space, or expanded item wheels (I hate multiple item/emote wheels, I would need one larger one) and some account-linked swag showing I'm a plus member + expanded transmutes and furniture capacity for houses would get us there, but then you would still have the problem of plus members having no inventory issues vs. non-plus members - which I think is the biggest axe to grind.

They COULD just give us more native bank space and inventory space as a base part of the game and just let plus keep their craftbags instead....

    Or how about this:

Eso+ 3 day trail tokens added periodically to the seasons tome in the free tier? Then the player can choose when to activate?

I need the extra bank slots, DLC dungeons, and extra housing slots. My houses aren’t full, but they are all over the halfway mark and I am always adding things to them over time.

Sure. Easy access to DLCs and monthly pop of crowns in case there is something I really want. It's just not all that expensive, even on a fixed income like mine.
