Maintenance for the week of January 19:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – January 19
• NA megaservers for patch maintenance – January 21, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 10:00AM EST (15:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for patch maintenance – January 21, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 15:00 UTC (10:00AM EST)
The maintenance is complete, and the PTS is now back online and patch 11.3.1 is available.

The two coolest looking original DK abilities were Dragon Blood and Spiked Armor

Those two really didn't need changing. :(

A lot of good work with some of the other abilities, but those two were made worse. In my humble opinion they didn't need changing at all. They were some of the best looking abilities in all of gaming and I remember how blown away I was when I first laid eyes on them over 10 years ago.

Is there any chance at all we can retain the old animations for those two abilities?

    Remember when they kept saying: "We always listen to feedback." Remember, they never changed the jabs animation back to the original even after such an uproar? It worries me we're stuck with these pointless ugly changes. They have 6 weeks to decide if they want me to throw money at a yearly sub again, so far, this is now the only thing holding me back.

    I hated the (old) dragon blood spfx, to be honest. It made my character impossible to see, and I love seeing my character. It was also too good not to take and use, and it significantly diminished my enjoyment of playing my DK. I'm happy for a change that allows me to see my character. In general, I like changes that improve the visibility of my characters.

    Ngl, I thought those 2 plus the flame eyes from seething fury stacks were by far the worst looking thing about DK

    Minus the weird heart onto which felt so wrong we all thought it was a bug but apparently it’s intentional although they’re listening too feed back and considering changes

    Dragon Blood really needed changing. I didn't like my character becoming see-through. It's not an invisibility spell, and that didn't really fit the class identity or visuals for me.

    These were the two ugliest abilities of dragonknight IMO, so much so that I avoided using them to my detriment before I started liking other classes more and stopped playing my only DK

    thats what i love about it get the Iron Atronach polymorph ( only reason i got it ) and use it your hearts pumping lava and your brains on fire🔥

    The transparency on using Dragon Blood was problematic in a lot of areas where you knew you had an effect on your character based on the visuals. The big examples I can give are if you were dropping puddles in DSR first boss or if you had shards in BGF first boss. The invisibility obscured these effects, meaning you didn’t generally know you had it until you’re taking a lot of damage (or required an addon to tell you it was up).

    The new version without the invisibility is much better.

    Personally I’d prefer to lose that floating heart effect since it’s in the way and make the chest X-ray last the duration (there is currently no indication of the buffs still being active outside of watching timers). That chest X-ray visual is really cool, and it’s sad it doesn’t stick around.

    Everyone did not like them.

    However, maybe introducing an option to keep the old look if possible could be looked into.

    Will just add both of these ability’s have had dev comments saying they’re being looked into so I trust we don’t have to worry too much

    I legit will use vigor over it for that reason alone.

    Sorry, but the new updated spikes change still looks bad. Just please revert to the original, or get rid of that flat part that makes it look like a backpack...still.

    Why is a revert so out of the question?? I never heard a single person in my entire decade playing complain about the look of them.

    The new armor skill makes it look like the character is taking a dump. Designers worked the same pooping animation into magma shell too.

    I thought that characters thrusting hips up and down was deemed to be offensive by everybody.

    Im shocked that people can complain about the "poop-rock," but don't see these new animations for what they are. Squatting.

    These visual changes belong in the dump.

    Even after the newest rework of Earthspike Mantle it's not as good as the original designs. I really hope they can just bring themselves to stick with the old designs for Spiked Armour and Dragonblood.

    Well, now "refreshing" means throwing out an old effect that hasn't had any problems for ten years, and instead reinventing it. It’s frustrating that DKs was the first to be “refreshed” and will experience all the joys of trial and error.
