Would you like to have face paint, eye color, mascara, lipstick, and scars added to a separate category? (Yes or No).

Currently, it's not possible to select eye color, face paint, scars, and lipstick simultaneously. Only one of each is allowed.

They should at least be sorted a little better. There's a few eye shadows in another category (can't remember which) but all of the fancy glowy eye effects are in face markings so you can't have them with a lip colour.

I'd really love there to be way more categories just to sort things, then you can have whatever you want up to the same number of customisations there are now. So I could have a headband and a flower in my hair but no earrings, or glowy eyes and lipstick but no body markings.

a while ago i made a list of how Appearance categories could ideally be expanded:

Head markings, Hairstyles, and Facial Hair divided into:
    - Head tattoos.
    - Head scars.
    - eye colours
    - Lipstick.
    - Eyeshadow, lashes, liners.
    - Full face makeup. such as Midnight Rising and Obnoxious Mute face paint.
    - Face Spikes, for Argonians.
    - Head Spikes and Horns, for Argonians and Bosmer.
    - Ears? for Argonians. i couldn't think what else Webbed Ears and Roostertail Frills would fit in.
    - Horns originally in Hairstyles, for Argonians.
    - Feathers, for Argonians.
    - actual Hairstyles made out of hair.
    - Facial hair. actual hair on the bottom half of your face.
    - Eyebrows. as we have the Online:Feather Brows of Mystery.

Body Markings and Skins divided into:
    - Body Tattoos.
    - Body Scars.
    - Body Paint.
    - Fur Patterns, for Khajiit.
    - Scale Patterns, for Argonians.
    - Skins, that replace the entire skin.
    - Glowy/magical markings?
    - Partial skins? like Scales of Akatosh, Meridian Purified, and Borealis Wolf Pelt. + Enveloping Scales for Argonians.

Major and Minor Adornments divided into:
    - Eyewear and Masks. like Scholar's Spectacles and Galenwood Mask
    - Crowns and headbands, some like the Deadly Jester's Headband probably wouldn't overlap with any of the others.
    - Hairpins, generally the little things on the side of your head like the Crimson Begonia and Knower's Eye Hairpin.
    - Earrings from Minor.
    - Face Piercings, mostly from Minor.
    - Body adornments, currently would only be Adventure-Ending Arrow.

Back in the day, (not sure if it’s still possible) your default appearance options from character creation could be combined with the accessory packs.
Dragon Priest [Restoring Light, Draconic Power, Grave Lord]
Death Knight [Grave Lord, Winter’s Embrace, Siphoning]
Pyromancer [Ardent Flame, Dawn’s Wrath, Earthen Heart]
Summoner [Living Death, Grave Lord, Daedric Summoning]
Ranger [Animal Companions, Green Balance, Shadow]
Druid [Earthen Heart, Animal Companions, Stormcalling]
Elementalist [Stormcalling, Winter’s Embrace, Ardent Flame]
Dawnguard [Dawn’s Wrath, Restoring Light, Ardent Flame]

We need this! Character customization is currently weak due to limitations.

I would also like to see a new type of face for Argonians, namely Argonian Nagas.

As a khajiit player, especially one with black fur. Having all these black bodypaints replace the fur pattern, which is the only thing that would make the bodypaint visible.. would be very nice..

I also wouldn't mind having disguises and costumes separated. Its a headache trying to find a costume in the one million disguises I was forced to collect...

A better favourites list would fix this for me.

I don't want costumes split by where they came from, because for me that's not an important distinction once they're unlocked. It also wouldn't seperate ones I use from ones I don't, there's a lot of costumes from various events and things which I'll never use and ones which were originally disguise which I use regularly.

All I want is to seperate the ones I do use from the ones I don't, which is what favourites is supposed to do, but I still have to use an addon to have functional favourites: ones which are different on each character and more than 100 in total.

It would be good to have markers like female/male, Argonian/Dwemer, etc., as is already done with furniture.

Some of those categories feel quite unnecessary and fit into one. Like
    - Ears? for Argonians. i couldn't think what else Webbed Ears and Roostertail Frills would fit in.
    - Horns originally in Hairstyles, for Argonians.
    - Feathers, for Argonians.
    - actual Hairstyles made out of hair.
that is just a hairstyle category.

But more categories has been requested many times. It's silly male bosmer can't have horns and a beard. Or how khajiit and argonians can't have different fur/scales patterns (which can just be one category too) with body markings.

Yes, especially would like categories for cosmetics and pets. Trying to find a specific pet or body/face marking is a big chore, having to scroll through and hover over everything. For those of us that have hundreds of these things, it's a major time waster. The Appearance and Pets tabs definitely need some more subcategories to keep things neat and manageable.

I was just thinking about pets. I have over 200 in just the "Exotic" category. They should really overhaul the pet categories the way they did the mounts not too long ago.

And yes, there are a lot of frustrating cosmetics clashes in the game. I'd love to see these reworked to give us more options. I wish we could maintain some customization options while in polymorphs as well, but I don't think that's likely.

They should definitely recategorise existing cosmetics like eyes, makeup, horns and antlers (add more please), hair and facial hair (add more please). But I also think why not allow us to use multiple in the case of body markings or face paint?

If we can select say 3 body markings that overlap in the order they are selected players would be able to make so many new designs, it would add much deeper levels of customisation to the existing system. Experimenting with things like hair length sliders and such in a barbershop type system that allows hair colour changes for gold ould also further enrich what is already there.

I don't see why not as long as they're sub-menus under adornments or something! Just make the menu visually pleasing and not a list of 600 different things & I'm down!

The main thing I want is for eye effects to go into their own category, so my crafter can have a blind eye under his eye patch without losing his facial hair. The really annoying thing about that is it used to be all one option - when I created him selecting the eye patch automatically included the blind eye and the facial hair, but now apparently it's impossible to use them together.

But being able to use body paint on khajiit and argonians without losing their fur/scale pattern would be nice as well. On all of mine removing the pattern completely changes how they look, they're even different colours so it's just not an option the way it is now.

While I have no argument against it per se, it's really not a priority for me, and I feel it would break a lot of things to get right. So unless they can do it in a day's work without it causing trouble to other things, I'd rather keep things the way the are.
This text used to said "Main: Dragonknight Tank". Way before subclassing, my raid leaders made sure I had many identity crises on both roles and classes. I tonked. Or dodoed. Or healed. Updating accordingly.

Main: Stuff-doer on a wizardry game. Still enjoying it.

Then it’s better to leave the game as is, not release any chapters, seasons, and do nooooothing.

I imagine the dev time spent adding a new slot to separate some adornments into a new category would more than pay for itself.

Edit: To be clear, I mean because some people will buy more cosmetics. If they already like the look of their character, they have more incentive to buy something new if they can add it and not replace something else.

I also think it will pay off. If donations are focused on cosmetics, this change will be more helpful than ever.
