A buddy and I were playing together earlier and chit chatting. We both had recently played Oblivion: Remastered and if any of y'all haven't played it yet - highly recommend. Anyways, we were discussing how much of a missed opportunity the current iteration of Imperial City was - now before the pitchforks come out, listen to this:
Imagine if Imperial City was re-imagined as a PvE recreation of the Imperial City as seen in Oblivion - same size, same grandeur and expanse. It would be pretty sick. Now, obviously that's the equivalent of saying, turn IC into a PvE area solely. That's not where we finished. Many in the PvP community have been asking for arenas - what if the arena within this new IC was turned into a competitive arena for 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 arenas fit with a special ranking ladder (similar to WoW's arena system) with unique mounts, rewards, and cosmetics and tied to each season in ESO that's upcoming. This would bring a re-imagining of current IC to PvE players, which many would love given that many, if not most, of us have played Skyrim and/or Oblivion. This would be incredible. You could also talk to maybe a member of the Psijic order outside of the Mages' Guild to use their time magic to go back to current-day IC. Both could receive updates in tandem. Now that we have a story that is moving forward time-wise, it could be cool! A way to preserve old IC, bring a new & re-imagined IC to the masses AND concomitantly bring arenas to the game.
This ultimately stemmed from our love for Oblivion, but also just the thought of how dead Imperial City is typically and the potential that it has!
What do yall think?
