Alessia, Chal and Ash courtyard change

Alessia, Chalman, and Ash keeps now have a larger “courtyard” area within the main gate to prevent players from jumping up to the inner keep from the gatehouse using a physics exploit.

This is not a small change. A new 3 window wall exists forward of the postern. It's no longer possible to hit the inner door from the wall using ballista. Hitting the D-Ring from the towers is also much harder and you can't reach all the way to the grate over the inner door. With catapults you cannot reach the ring at all from the towers, and you cannot reach the towers from the ring either. The larger courtyard makes more room for siege, but there is no way to counter the ring from the walls. It's completely changed the META tactic for taking these keeps. Not saying that it's a bad thing, just that it's not a minor change.

Lastly, the Alessia front door was already very hard to take (much more so than chal or ash) but moving the FD forward has made it impossible to range it. That keep is impenetrable now, you should rethink the terrain in font of it a bit .

    your saying they made these moves and didnt see if siege would work still omg @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin can you please get something on this keeping players from jumping ok but not being able to siege not good at all

    Rather this bigger courtyard seige from the walls, than have a tank jumping across to get in a keep and burn all the seige defending

    Wait is this to stop players from using their mounts to bounce into the keep? You realize you can bump your mount off of any treestump, waist high wall, or anything and jump over keep walls right? People do it all the time in grahtwood where you can jump up ontop of the wayshrine stonehenge structure(much higher than keep walls). It requires very precise timing of sprint and jump to acceleration jump, but it is possible.

    Cyrodil and the integrity of the campaign has been in shambles for a decade with no changes. Its not like there are pvp rewards or anything worth farming in cyrodil(ill give this one to you because this pts now has some level of rewards). Only a select few people even know what the faction scoreboard is doing. Yet we have had to pay 20$ just to change factions to play with our friends.


    Zos wants to make more of an impact, how about tossing and turning up the map. Add some new buildings and town assets infront of aleswell to give more district like fights. Move alessia closer to the river or onto the river so its backside is on the cliff with a goatpath going to it. Put ash more west on the mountain with a goatpath going through the mine towards carmala. This should have been done when the walls and bridges were made destroyable so people would spread out and fight on other fronts instead of just going afk and waiting for the bridge to be repaired.

    How about spending time looking at the campaign rules to prevent pvdoor guilds flipping the whole map one color when the other two factions are offline for the night. We let the lowbie, nonvet, and blackreach die to unbalanced maps because the cyrodil campaign faction rules never accounted for what happens when the server isnt at 300v300v300 players.

    Why does the winning faction get combat bonuses that help them win more? Just give them ap bonuses, the losing underdog faction should help get combat bonuses to fight back if anything.

    I understand yall are trying, but there are so many more important items on the totem pole instead of the one dude that did something somewhat exploitive that one time it provided a measly benefit. Meanwhile anyone can also just sit in unflagged keeps if they afk long enough in a corner when its taken.

    Could consider raising the height of the walls and towers to help siege on the walls.

    I actually have trouble recognizing Alessias new Maingate as Alessia at all, yes, the hill is there, the stones too, but the structures with the torches and the tree are missing, while the area in fron of the gate looks still the same size, so did they push the entire keep backwards too?

    Thanks for the liase. I just wanted to add sieging from walls is a strategic choice to avoid oils and offers attackers the chance to funnel advancing defenders onto the stairs which makes defending siege easier. From the screenshots it doesn’t look like this will not be possible anymore.

    Wait is this because people can horse jump to the ring from the guard house? Just force dismount on top of the guard house then and leave the keep geometry alone.
