Should ESO offer classic skill animations as optional Skill Styles?

No — I’m fine with only the new animation
I voted no only because I think if the game is gonna be truly updated the devs should focus on making their changes as best as possible without worrying about old animations on top of new since the new ones are already glitchy in the pts.

They have enough on their plate as is. What they can do tho is make the settings for visuals togglable, like how they toned down pyrebrand, make that an option for really bright and glowy or less bright and glowy.

I especially say no to old animations because the skills function differently now which makes an even bigger issue of trying to toggle animations, its not just a visual update of the fire.

Voted no. They are revamping the classes and not just animations. Some skills no longer work as they did before and the old animations would make no sense.

What is being asked for is way different than changing the color on a skill.

For PvP also the visual tell of what someone is doing shouldn't be 2 different animations for each skill someone is using either.

    They can't.

The whole point about redoing animations (as we saw with all of these and even the previous ones like Jabs and Flurry) is that the timing of the attacks changed. That means the animation needs to match the attack. Old jabs and new jabs attack different numbers of times and have a different animation length, so using the old version will not match the attack at all.

What you're really asking for is something like "I want to have a quick fire breath animation, and then have my character stand in a T-pose for 3.8 seconds afterwards since the attack is still going but the animation is done."

granted there’s a few that have changed that can’t but there’s definitely some skills tha absolutely can be

Skill styles thus far have not affected animations and I’m on the side of “won’t this add to the supposed memory issue?”. I think the skill styles are just textures or even effects.

And this would slow down the other classes as the old effects would have to be changed to match the new functionalities.

I know it sucks to see something you’re nostalgic for be taken away, but it happens with everything. I still can’t get over just how bad whip looks on live (hard to see, doesn’t hit the enemy, doesn’t move like someone attacking with a whip), let alone compared to the new animation.

The best compromise I can think of is for ZOS to add furnishings and/or momentos that represent some of the old effects.

I think the thing that looks obvious to me is to give some of these skills animations that realistically would still work old coag blood whip Dragonknights spikes back, these skills haven’t really changed in terms of the actual animation action and I think with the animations for them already in place the easiest solution would be too give us the ability to choose between the old and new animations for ourselves

Other: Keep the existing animations as the default and offer any new animations as optional changes - charge crowns for them by all means to recoup the cost of designing and implementing them,
