Class Balance Changes Too Slow

Just dropping my 2 cents...

I love the transparency and agree with the approach to class rebalancing -- especially in the context of subclassing. Thank you!

The problem I see is that it's too slow to realize the full vision. 1 class per quarter means we have to live with the current meta for more than a year. I would have much preferred reshuffling all class skill lines to align to the new vision, and then having the 1 big class overhaul per quarter.

As things stand, the assassination meta has gotten really old, and nothing will change until that's addressed... at least not in a meaningful way.

Yes, I agree. While many things on the roadmap are nice, the class changes are most urgently needed. The animations can follow later.

Right i love the class changes but I’m a nb main so I guess I’m suppose to endure not being able to compete with any refreshed class or subclass build for another year umm no thank you that’s just crazy to expect players to wait a year or so for changes to be made to their classes just to be able to compete in the unbalanced nightmare they forced us into

I don't want it to go any faster. Rebuilding one character at a time is all I could stand. I have all classes but Warden so I need the time to finish one before starting another.

ya its waaaay too slow. too many people dont like subclassing and miss class identity. And these changes arent even going to solve the problem of stacking the best 3 skill lines. I figured zos would actually add in some meaningful class benefits to keeping your main class skill lines, but we barely got any. But at least the classes will be somewhat closer to subclassing.

But no one wants to wait 2 years for this. Every person that left because of subclassing will return to the same stale meta until like next year. its crazy.

Is the plan to make us stick around for two years while they balance the game one class at the time? Or should we take a two years break? I hate the flavor of the month concept, where all the meta jumpers all play the same class. Guess its DK everyone gonna be next month until its Wardens some months after and so on, sound more depressing than fun..

On the one hand I get where people are coming from but if they're making new animations and skills from the ground up that takes time. Would you rather wait 2 years for a class refresh that they want to do for all the classes or at least have something in between then?

Right now the game feels like a house after a wild party -- every room's a mess. ZOS has told us the plan is to deep clean one room at a time, and we’ll have everything spotless in about two years.

I'd rather see a quick tidy-up first. Make the whole place livable, then start the room-by-room renovation. As it stands, we’re being asked to live in chaos for two years while perfection slowly rolls out.

I understand the vision -- restoring class identity, rebalancing subclassing -- but the timeline is brutal. I want to be excited about playing again in April, not holding out hope for 2027.

The fact they didn't change a single thing on other classes kinda implies they won't touch DK ever again once this patch hits. Balance should be an ongoing process and small changes where needed should be applied. Instead, you're once again, completely ignoring the overpowered Arcanists' beam. IT HAS BEEN OVER HALF A YEAR.

I am a little apprehensive about this.

Don't get me wrong - we needed a decent balance pass and pretty well a Class overhaul since Subclassing was dropped. But I don't like that this is going to take two full years to do, meaning that if something (like Fatecarver and the entire Herald of the Tome line) is overpowered, it's going to stay that way until the end of 2027.

And the thing that really gets me personally is the fact that I desperately want new Classes. I've been hoping for some new skill lines to play with on a new character since the end of 2024... and now it looks like there's gonna be no new Classes until 2028 at the earliest.

Yeap asking players to wait two more years to clean up a mess that nobody asked for and get out played because of how busted subclasses are and watching other classes get refreshed to start clapping you too is just crazy

Given the changes we've seen, DK will not be the flavour of the month.

In fact, the class reworks look much more like they will be a death game where one class at a time is totally eliminated from play, being unusable in the era of subclassing as none of its class lines have enough value in one place to subclass into and numbers too weak when combined together, until only the Arcanist is left and every trial group is 12 Arcanists filling all the roles.

It's a faulty premise. They appear to be starting with the classes that need the most work. It may be that the later refreshes take less development time and so can be done two at once. That's not to say it couldn't take two years, but it could also take just 5 updates - which is 1.25 years.

Fatecarver may be overpowered but it won't be being nerfed - that would throw off the balancing in trials. What ZOS are doing is (attempting to) bring the other classes up to that power level, and that of the sub-classed variants of Farecarver builds. So starting in March/April we will have 2 classes at the Fatecarver power level. A few months later, 3 classes, and after 9 months when Season 2 drops it will be 4 classes.

I would love a new class so badly especially cause from the sounds of it they're going to make Sorc more Daedric theme which annoys the heck out of me cause one of my sorcs I rp as not making pacts with Daedra and hating Daedra a lot. I can't play her as an arcanist cause the skill lines bug me too much XD
