I just wanted to say how positively surprised I was by the update 49 stream. So many times during the last years we've heard "we want to improve communication" and "this year we'll finally improve", but this is the first time I'm actually hopeful these aren't just over-optimistic promises. Two streams within a week, with this one going really into details that were just brushed over last week was definitely great.
I especially enjoyed the little remarks about future improvements that might be possible (even though they aren't even on the "todo-list" right now). In the past you kept quite about this, to not risk possible backlash when something that was "promised" never got realised, so this shows a lot more transparency about the development process.
Also, you all seemed genuinely excited about the changes and quite clear when explaining the reasoning behing the decisions. Keep up the good work! <3

It is a good sign. Especially if there continues to be healthy exchange between the devs and the players so that good iterations can keep being made to the game.

I see this as a paradigm shift, and it makes me hopeful for the future...I have always been a wrothgar fan over The Gold Road...so I'm particularly excited about the potential new directions the story might pursue...who knows we might even see an end to the war and the start of something totally new.

Kira was fantastic. She articulated a lot of the longstanding concerns and their solutions, her ideas vs. corporate's commitments, and was incredibly personable. I know not everyone's going to have that charm, but this format was really good.

That being said, I find trying to get in any comment in to be quite challenging. Between zealous moderation and message spam, it's hard to get in a legitimate question. That's my only real criticism of this format - maybe an AUA would help with that.

Regardless, the streams are good - it's nice to hear developer thought processes and see the faces behind the game.

We'll see. This is far from the first time they've committed to having better communication. Better communication for one day a year doesn't solve the problem. It has to be sustained and reliable over time to matter.

Presentations and talking to an audience can be a daunting thing, and I'm glad they're willing to push through that.

The improved communication (including talking about things being worked on and processes) also serves to more humanize the work that is being done and how things function, instead of being a black-box system where the output is the only thing that matters.
