the arguments to not allow players to get Dragon's Treasure Trove are always so nonsensical to me.
Seriously? just because someone was
- not playing in 2019
- missed the event
- or was not able to purchase the Elsweyr chapter before or during the event and log in for a minute to claim the event rewards?
Like that is it. No money or no time, out of your control and yet this must mean you should not have a specific furnishing.

Yes, I know there are certain rewards for those who complete certain content, but I’m not referring to that.)
I stopped to play ESO because it simply became bad, with repetitive content every years it was not interesting at all.
I was interested to return with the seasons, because it's free at least and give some collectibles if we play, but then I saw their new "Gold Coast Market" where we can buy old time limited (collector) items. Really? So the uniques things we get for playing during a special moment are not uniques anymore?
Personally I missed a lot of things the past year (almost everything I suppose) and I am totally fine with it because I didn't play, so that's normal. And I didn't play the first years of ESO, it would be totally normal if I didn't have the chance to have the items who were available back then, because I was not here.
I am disappointed knowing players will be able to get old items, that's what made our accounts uniques and tell its story
So not even sure I'm interested in theses seasons things now if the things we get there are not uniques and will come back later, just like the old collectibles...
By trying to satisfy everybody they just satisfy nobody in the end. And that's exactly why the game slowly die since years

I have some unique collectibles, and I'm fine with other people getting them. Why would I deny someone a little bit of happiness?
100%
Very weird take by some. I understand a trifecta mount in PvE, but like an event mount from several years ago or collectible or whatever? Crazy that some people feel the need to guard this at all, let alone to the point of wanting to leave the game. Bizarre.

Agree.
By now I've seen the Trove across dozens of houses. It's not interesting for me to just plop one down and go "Whoopee, I got the shiny too! I'm in the cool club!" Who'd care anyway? Most players would never see it. Nobody's won a housing contest just for placing an item (moreover, that thousands of other players already have).
Rather, I'd wager that many of us who missed the Treasure Trove etc. are excited to finally use them in our builds. That's where uniqueness lies: the ways in which individuals express their creative ideas. The skill in the execution is even more important than the idea or ingredients. And right now there are a ton of highly-skilled "chefs" in Housing who'd do inspiring things with this "saffron", ultimately enriching our whole community.
So I think it's a shame that some want to gatekeep what's essentially just a tool or ingredient. Like Kapoor with Vantablack, or the Momofuku guy who tried to trademark chili crisp – didn't work out for them either.

It's been 11 years and things like the ice wraith and tiger mount have never been available on console so it's fair to say they're keeping that promise (tho I personally think it's probably been long enough to satisfy that).

You know someone's an old player when they ride by you on their tiger mount. I love mine and hope they stick to their promise of it remaining unique to year 1 players.
when i see someone on the Striped Senche Tiger, i just see a mount i cannot ever obtain and well someone riding a cat.
it is not impressive that they were able to pay for ESO Plus more than a decade ago.
Plus, i hardly see it anyways. Most people like newer mounts more as they look better or because they dislike Senche mounts.
edited to add:
it is not fun telling people who ask about your collectible that it has not been available since its release and may never return.
most players are unlikely to know what the Striped Senche Tiger is unless they ask or read about it. it is simply a cat mount, which looks old.

It had nothing to do with eso plus. Eso plus didn't exist when those of us who supported the game early got our tigers. It was for playing the first 10 months out of about 12. It was for supporting the game early on. You hardly see them because they're rare.
It has a mystique to it among older players, so it's cool. Part of that is that, yes, it is a rare item that can no longer be obtained, like the bristle gut piglet. These are way cooler than any flashy crown gem mount. More people know what it is than you think, or ask about it in a whisper. It's rarer than the beta monkey which was given out to everyone who attended a stress test one night, and everyone who was in the closed beta itself. I have both.
I have missed out on a lot of things due to playing intermittently due to rl and health issues. I think it's cool when I see something I can't get anymore, and have no ill thoughts toward them.
