Something Missing....Kids.

Yeah, there are no kids in the game at all, least not that I have seen anyways. Would help to add some realism. They had kids in Skyrim so why not ESO? This is not a biggy but figured I would ask the question.

Wish Sheo had done that in Skyrim. Man, the kids were annoying.

Well, it seems to be an issue with the artwork for characters more so than the plot and social landscape. There is frequent mention of children, but when you meet them they look like adults. Now yes, even adults are someone's children and some people in their mid-teens look like young adults, but all of them? I had a quest to return a lost doll to a little girl... who looked just like all of the 18-25 year old type characters in the game. But if they use the same artwork and character creation engine for most of the NPCs as the player's do for their characters (not sure that they do), that would explain things as you can't roll an 8-16 year old toon.

You can't kill cat's and dogs either . Monkeys are fair game though.

Kids were killable in Skyrim originally before that game got a ton of crap for allowing it and it was removed, but mods allow one to kill kids again.

Why else do you think kids pulled out daggers and went into a battle stance when you attacked them or if an enemy was nearby?

But yeah, the lack of kids in the major cities at least is odd.

Skyrim got some crap for not allowing kid killing also.

In this game it is just a matter only doing two npc body types for each race. I think only a handful of npcs are impossible to create in the character creator.

Probably has to do with the whole Crime and Punishment system. You will probably be able to kill NPCs, and they don't want to have a mass online game where you kill children.

    Yeah it is really weird.

In many of the situations and quests i would expect the daughter/son to be a kid , but they arent lols.

Mother/fathers look about the same age their kids from time to time also :P.

Kids could be invulnerable , just like they are in skyrim by default (and ESO got no console :P)

You can also not harm friendly npc at all in the game.
Only enemies and the few yellow ones can be killed. Fun is that guars in towns can not be atacked but the ones outside can, probably to avoid people killing them over and over.

And yes a few kids would make most town look better, imagine a Khajiit kid chasing its tail.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

Nah in theory you will be able to kill some NPCs.

Also , they better change the guard , cause im not even sure they can possibly one day kill my char even if the whole city guard comes at once.

Not looking to kill kids. That would be very sick!

Games are full of "controversy" these days. And it has led to some companies going very very careful when they make their games as it stirs a lot of heat doing it "the wrong way".

As an example, you can dismember and kill in the most horrific ways, but heavens take it if there's one naked women. Hell, the corridor behind you with dismembered bodies, the trail of blood and the gore and horror you've unleashed is nothing compared to the screams when that naked lady is shown.

So yeah, should have been kids in this game, though, not like that freakishly little peadobear in WoW (I'm growing a beard). Still have nightmares about that little bugger with those beady eyes that looks you strait into your soul. Kids though, would add to the atmosphere to the cities. To be honest, I miss some life in the cities, I find them dull and sterile.

I posit children were left out of the game to save time on designing them. IIRC Skyrim was the only TES game to actually portray children.

Same logic applies to mixed-species individuals. There are a ton of inter-species couples in Tamriel, but portraying their mixed offspring would add exponentially to development time.

Having said that, I agree that adding children in would add to the game's atmosphere, but if ZOS plans to do so it will probably get put far onto the back burner.
