I'm just not into Eastern Solstice

Usually when new content releases I complete it on my 7 characters one by one. But this time I haven't gotten far at all. I am only on my 3rd character and it's been a few weeks, and still not done. I start to do a quest or two and end up doing some housing or something else instead.

I don't know if it's all the bugs, of which there are many, or because Darien turned down my advances, but I am just not into it.

    I got to romance Darien, but that's probably because he's got a soft spot for fat nords sporting magnificent moustaches, maximum girth slider, and juggalo facepaint. Everyone has a type!

    I was just thinking about this today, actually. Who knew that putting a wall up, rather effectively blocking the roads to your new content might keep people from playing it.

    I think that is part of my problem... not being able to do the entire zone together as a whole. This makes it feel like I'm doing the same zone twice in a row. Because basically I am. I know the quests are different but it still feels too much the same so it's not exciting me to repeat the same content again already.

    I hope they never split up a zone like this again.

    Solstice on the whole, was a let down bummer for me. Another equatorial island with reused Black Marsh and Summerset assets. Reused bad guys, albeit with new visual designs, a couple new enemy types, and (I THINK) new Daedric architecture? The only bits I really enjoyed was expanded Argonian lore, but that's about it. I haven't even done the festival side quest on west Solstice yet, and when east Solstice opened to have chunks of it just be more Coldharbour, I did the main story and never looked back. I haven't even logged in for weeks.

    I sincerely hope they're bringing us back to the mainland for next year's content and something more akin to a Chapter again. Alik'r or Winterhold or, something.

    Solstice as a whole is definitely the quickest I've seen a new zone die off. The fact people were grinding the same boring event quests for a month probably didn't help it, but because of all the bugs hampering quest progress and (I'm assuming) less sales on the content pass, outside of the first couple of days where it kinda had population, you definitely see way less players running around it doing stuff compared to some other zones.

    Not to mention grinding the dailies is pointless at the moment because they're bugged and won't count for the achievement half of the time.

    I'm not into Eastern Solstice neither, I haven't done any quest yet as they did not added the french voiceover so we got half voiced in french and the other half in english and they still ignore all our messages to know when or if we'll even get the zone fully translated...

    It's the same for me. Usually I love to quest and explore new zones. But in Eastern Solstice I haven't completed the main story.

    I just dislike it the zone, too much coldharbour vibes for me. And empty...

    I didn't mind the zone design, actually I really liked some delve visuals.

    My problem was that the story was just so formulaic and uninteresting. I really miss more creativity in storytelling. Dialogues also weren't that interesting mostly, and there wasn't much lore either. I also dislike how lots of dialogues seem strangely moral and un-Tamrielic, in a way. But the worst thing this time were the plot holes and bugs.

    Generally, different endings - actual endings, not just the epilogue - would have also added some replayability. Well, given the writing itself would have been interesting.

    There was some very good side quests and stuff within solstice, the ashbound hall was really good, it felt like dungeoning diving and it was a fun quest they did, it added new vampire lore too. I also liked the pirate quest, and the one quest in western solstice too.
    I do think the withered wall could have been handled a lot better, like in terms of lore and like it could have even been made a dome or like something else other then a wall. Like I think if they could have better explained why you couldn't sell around it, or like better explained why you cannot just fly over it, or many other things I think it would have been better on that front.

    I kind of felt the whole time like a child which was getting lectured on shoulds/should nots. And what they did to Sanguine was really silly. I miss the dark complicated story of the past times.

    I thought the main storyline was better than we have had in chapters like High Isle and Blackwood. Having to learn about the past of the island was a unique approach (as far as I remember) in order to be able to defeat the Worm Cult plans. I haven’t done all of the other quests but have enjoyed some of them. I just had a problem with Caterwaul Cove in that once I dropped down from a ledge at one point I was unable to get back up and missed out on one part of an optional part of the quest, and I had to abandon the quest and will have to restart it again.

    I can’t say that I really like the zone, though. The Coldharbour elements make sense but they are no very pleasing to see.
