New Mythic Idea .

🐟 The Mad Cod Fishy Belt (Mythic – Waist)
“The fish do not judge. They only fall.”
⚙️ Mythic Effect
While equipped in PvP zones (Cyrodiil & Imperial City):
You cannot collect Tel Var Stones
You deal no damage
You take no damage
You cannot capture or contest objectives
When a hostile player attacks you in a PvP zone:
The heavens open, raining spectral fish upon the attacker
Attacker is stunned for 3 seconds
This effect can occur once every 30 seconds per attacker
🌍 Outside PvP Zones
You deal damage normally
You take damage normally
Fish still rain down when you are attacked
(purely visual, no stun — because Sheogorath insists)
🎣 Intended Purpose
Allows non-PvP players to:
Complete fishing achievements
Explore PvP zones peacefully
Exist without being repeatedly farmed
Provides zero combat advantage
Prevents Tel Var abuse entirely
⚖️ Balance & Exploit Prevention
No Tel Var gain while equipped (including passive sources)
Auto-disables damage immunity if Tel Var is gained by any means
Cannot be used to scout, tank, or body-block objectives
Stun has an internal cooldown to prevent griefing
📜 Lore Justification
“Sheogorath decreed that those who fish should not bleed, and those who bleed should perhaps try fishing instead.”
Quest giver is:
A completely sane Argonian
Standing knee-deep in water
Surrounded by fish that are clearly watching you
🧂 Community Reaction Forecast
PvPers: “Why can’t I kill them?”
ZOS: “Because they are fishing.”
Everyone else: equips belt immediately
Final Thought
This version is:
QoL, not power
Funny without being stupid
Impossible to exploit
Extremely ESO

Players who are invincible in PvP zones might as well not be in those queues in the first place. They're not contributing to the objectives in any meaningful way.

In fact, here's how this mechanic can be abused to help your team win. Use alt accounts or rally a bunch of people to equip that set on enemy factions in Gray Host — now that the campaign is pop-locked, the characters wearing the set are taking up valuable space in that campaign. Your favored faction would have more players who are participating in the fight.

Imagine this being used to troll players in Battlegrounds. An entire team of players could wear this set and stand idly by, not allowing the other team in Deathmatch to score any points.

You might also just stand in the way of enemy attacks with this set to cause them to accidentally target you instead of your allies. You'd be an invincible damage shield for your allies.

Simply put, the only place where invincibility should exist in PvP zones is on spawn platforms. Even the invincibility from taking the main doors in Imperial City has a timer so you aren't permanently invincible.

Honestly, in Cyro if you stay away from the keeps you'll be lucky to see someone in your alliance let alone an enemy one. The only risky place apart from that are Delves (due to the delve boss buff) and the Dolmen at Bruma.

Imperial City surface there is little to explore, it's all PvP in a PvE backdrop. The Sewers have more to explore, but the biggest danger in there are not enemy players but the wandering bosses. Fishing wise it can be risky but there are ways to mitigate like fishing in surface sectors that your alliance controls.

And not for nothing, but access to places in other alliance areas in Cyro is determined by the outcome of the AvA, both the general overland area, and the areas locked behind the alliance gates. Seems a tad cheaty/lazy to be able to go there having contributed nothing to either keep the area under your alliance's control - Crospford, Bruma, Vlastrus, Weynon, Chey for example - or to open it up like the Temple areas.

Thanks for the quick feedback—love the engagement! I get the concerns (PvP balance is sacred), but hear me out: this isn't power creep or griefing fuel. It's pure Sheogorath QoL for us PvE fishers/tourists who dip into Cyro/IC for achies without wanting to zerg or get farmed. "The fish do not judge. They only fall." 🐟987c2c
    On Pop-Locking (Gray Host/BGs):
Alts already idle at queues to cap pops—belt changes ZERO. Same bodies, no new slots created. If ZOS wants, tie it to "inactive" detection (moving fish ghosts might even trigger auto-kicks).
BGs: Full idle team = leaver buster (5min-1hr bans), opponents score free kills/XP. Self-sabotage, reportable—matches still end on timer.fe32f1
    Ally Shielding/Body-Block:
Tweak for perfection: Make wearer untargetable by hostiles (like a ghost)—attacks "whiff" (0 dmg), but proximity/attempt procs the 3s fish stun (30s CD per attacker). Allies see/pass through you. No tanking, no blocking, pure "WTF fisher—nvm" moment. Enemies waste CDs, learn quick.b4349b
    Gate Cheating/Exploration (Gabriel_H):
Fair point on low-risk spots, but Bruma delves/dolmens/fishing? Still gank lottery. Belt lets you chill enemy zones without contributing—yes, "lazy," but achies are PvE. Similar "pacifist mode" ideas float around; this adds fun visuals + light troll for gankers.60abef
    Refined Mechanics (Exploit-Proof):
No TVR/objectives (auto-disable immunity on gain).
Visual aura toggle: Screams "HARMLSSS FISHER" from afar.
    5-min equip CD post-unequip (anti-alt spam).
Non-PvP: Normal dmg, visual fish only.
ZOS: Lore gold (sane Argonian quest), zero meta shift. PvPers: One less easy farm. Win-win? Lighten up—let the Mad Cod reign! What tweaks would seal it for you? e3cbde

Nothing good has ever followed the words, "but hear me out". Lol!

A tip, you can go stealth and cast as the stealth takes effect. Casting from stealth will break stealth. The fishing achievements, exploring, delves, etc ... Can all be done with little to no PVP engagement. Been there, done that, and I don't PVP.

The irony, all the leads for this mythic come from fishing in cyro and imp city, and are scryed and excavated there. Have fun!

Unfortunately this type of item would be too easily abusable.
See a player coming in the distance? quick set swap to the belt now my tel'var are safe.

Achievements are meant to be just that. An 'Achievement', removing the challenge from such achievements lessen the feeling of gratification once completed.

If you don't want to participate in certain content you don't have to do it, but equally you don't have to be rewarded for it.

Use the mount summoning scribe skill "Trample" with the stick horse. It bounces like a pogo stick as it charges forward. Hilarious!

    I love it.

But the easier remedy is that if you attack a player who is actively fishing, you incur the damage you tried to inflict on the fishing player. Attack enough, die.

I have zero sympathy for and will listen to no excuses from players as to why they attacked a player who was fishing. I don't want to hear about potential exploits. I don't care about accidents. This is fishing, not PVPing, not questing, not farming mats, not even spawn camping. Fishing is different as it takes forever, its RNG based, and it can only be done in specific areas, which for some reason, includes PVP zones.

If you want to attack a fisherman, wait until they get done fishing at that hole so they at least have the ability to fight back.

Those players are not in Cyrodiil, because they want to. They need to, because ZOS decided that intertwining PvP and PvE is a great idea and that everyone who enjoys PvE will naturally enjoy PvP too!

    Wouldn't work

The caveat it while wearing it you can't earn telvar the secret sherggeoroth hides is when you equip it with telvar the spills to the ground and you can't pick it up ...
