There are already two threads about that topic (one each per sentiment, I guess):

Yeah, the new quests seemed kinda pointless and I'm not sure why they were added.

I personally appreciate that they added new quests to the event after almost a decade. It's not much new lore, sadly, but at least they do add holiday flavor and also a bit to the worldbuilding. Sure, the snowball quest is basically just a recolor of the mudball quest, but some of these quests add a bit to the world - even if it's just the fact that the orcs seem to celebrate by showcasing prowess and strength, while the Altmer focus on charity (no matter if it's for elders or orphans), the Argonians on fishing, the Khajiit on their usual sneaky stealy stuff, and the Bosmer... seem to have a thing for mud somehow (now I'd like to see deeper lore on how mud is related to their beliefs - but that's just me). I agree though that the rewards could be a little more appealing.

To clarify, I don't think the quests were bad, in fact the Redguard/Alik'r Desert quest was perhaps the most interesting of the bunch since it shows that some Redguard actually want to know more about their ancestral ties to Yokuda. I just think the subject could have been approached more broadly and more thoroughly through a different focus. From a practical standpoint, I just wonder why they bothered to create new quests if they were just functionally the same stuff as any other New Life daily.

    My review:

    Meh.

I've come to realize that annual events aren't good for much for those of us who've done them every year since their inception. They're easy tickets though, so the events are good for that.

I don't think we can blame ZOS for the repetitiveness of some of these events though. They kinda have to have them, and there aren't really very many good options for spicing them up differently every year. The new quests for new life this year are lackluster, but at least ZOS tried to add something new even if they're just fetch quests. Maybe ZOS could add some quest that can only one stage can be completed every year or something with each stage having a special reward. Sort of like a golden pursuit that only one thing can be done per year to progress.

thats an interesting thought because the Hearts day quests will be one and done so maybe
