i really enjoy new life but the lack of new rewards other then a style page set left me feeling no desire to farm out close to 20 quests daily if love to see ton of new items and rewards for next year

Yeah, the new quests seemed kinda pointless and I'm not sure why they were added. They gave players more opportunities for the boxes I guess, but it would have been better if they had just cleared up all the inventory fodder like the consumables which were made obsolete by mementos many years ago. They should really look into making their RNG loot logic smarter as well because a lot of 'rewards' within ESO just become cluttered annoyances after you have obtained them, and stuff you could use or sell like the rare recipes have become rarer than previous years.

it would be awesome if New Life boxes dropped themed furnishings like Jubilee!

As long as the furnishings aren’t bound I agree. I don’t want a bunch of bound furniture clogging up my vault/storage that I can’t give away or sell. But themed furnishings would be a nice addition. Like garlands and wreaths, rugs, stockings, etc.

I just wanted to give a shout-out to the voice actors who reacted to the snowballs in the new Snowball quest.

Very delightful and their reactions brought a little smile with their "Happy New Lifes".

I think rewards need an overhaul though idk what they could do. It's quite obvious they wanna keep the lions share for the crown store. We need to figure out what's rewarding or good rewards to add. Costumes, even reskins. Hats, still love my eye patch all these years later. Dyes. Furnishings. Hell even like stuff we could put on our horse mounts. Make horses cool again. The knights in high isle have cool looking horse armor. Let's get some of that. When indiriks came out they were so cool. Come with a new modifiable mount that takes my previous suggestion. There's gotta be more than style pages and crafting mats.

I didn't do any of the quests except the memorial one for the tickets. Throwing snowballs etc. seems more appropriate for the Jester's Festival.

The Frost Atronach crates in particular, if anyone is curious. The memento is called The Everlasting Snowball. I have it and I like it better than the mud ball. I think that it's a shame that it's locked to crates.

New quests were (are) good - nice to see that.

Rewards once again need a massive overhaul. There are so many things that this game could give away as quest and event rewards, I find it incredible that we keep getting the same old same old.

It's an even greater shame that emotes have been monetized like this as well.

You know that reminds me of something I did back in 2022. Rich had made a statement that there was over 200 earnable cosmetics from content in the game that year (excluding crate stuff). So I wanted to see if it was true. And it was. But the variety of rewards was sorely lacking. It was primarily furnishings and titles. And many of the furnishings were furniture that you still had to buy. I haven't done the same analysis this year so IDK if that's improved.
    spartaxoxo wrote: »
Let's look back at 2022 for earnable cosmetics....

There were 4 DLC/Chapters, 12 main events, and 12 months of daily rewards. We also received earnable cosmetics through the luxury vendor and antiquities.
The Events were according to UESP....

    New Life Festival 2022
    Dark Heart of Skyrim Celebration
    Witches Festival 2022
    Heroes of High Isle
    Undaunted Celebration 2022
    Whitestrake's Mayhem 2022 (Summer)
    Zeal of Zenithar
    Anniversary Jubilee 2022
    Jester's Festival 2022
    Whitestrake's Mayhem 2022 (February/March)
    Daedric War Celebration

They also had stuff like the battlegrounds weekends and explorer events but those were mini events with no tickets/prizes.

I was not able to count the number of furnishings added that weren't earned by achievements because the wiki mixed in those furnishings with the stuff in the crates, presumably because they were earnable through endeavors. But since we're looking to specifically exclude those earned by endeavors, that was undesirable. I didn't want to scroll through all of the furnishings I already counted and crown crate ones to find the ones that are earnable through stealing, looting, crafting, etc.

However, even without those variously sourced earnable furnishings or counting each individual page as one item, there is still over 200 free cosmetics added to the game.

So, I guess Rich was correct. The question really isn't "we need more collectibles." But rather, which type of collectibles in specific do people mean? What type of content do you want to see drop more collectibles?

Going over this list, I realized that a good chunk of the collectibles are just titles, which I don't care about. I also realized the thing that I was personally missing was costumes, hairstyles, and mounts rather than the generic idea of more collectibles.

I personally appreciate that they added new quests to the event after almost a decade. It's not much new lore, sadly, but at least they do add holiday flavor and also a bit to the worldbuilding. Sure, the snowball quest is basically just a recolor of the mudball quest, but some of these quests add a bit to the world - even if it's just the fact that the orcs seem to celebrate by showcasing prowess and strength, while the Altmer focus on charity (no matter if it's for elders or orphans), the Argonians on fishing, the Khajiit on their usual sneaky stealy stuff, and the Bosmer... seem to have a thing for mud somehow (now I'd like to see deeper lore on how mud is related to their beliefs - but that's just me). I agree though that the rewards could be a little more appealing.

Yes, please make those disposable items stop dropping if you have the memento for them. Having to destroy them is a real pain each time.
