The snowball one has different targets, too. Or the chance of different targets, I should say. I was hoping the Auridon one had different people to deliver to, but I got the same one twice. Hope I get to see the others! I like talking to new npcs.
I wonder if they all do have some variety to them, but it's random which one you'll get, and so you could end up getting the same thing over and over.
At any rate, I'm enjoying them well enough. They don't bring a lot of new lore, but they do bring some, and I always appreciate that.

I didn't get any new ones yesterday. Have you found more?

So far it "only" seems to be 2 parts of the Alikr quest, 2 versions of the Auridon quest, and I think the snowball quest always has a bigger pool of targets marked, you just don't need to get all of them?

If I've seen all of them at least once, I think I'll focus on feeding elderly Altmer now. Hope I won't overfeed them.

From what I've seen, the snowball only has five available targets each time, but the targets pull from a larger pool of perhaps ten. I've gone to where I've seen targets on previous days, but they aren't there for the day's batch, so they aren't all available at once. I do like how all the targets are really happy to get pelted with my perfect snowballs, though.

But, no, I haven't found any other variations. I was hoping the bear one in the Rift would have alternate food sources for us to grab. I vary that one myself by playing a different instrument each time I do it.

I really liked the Alik'r one and how it had a follow-up the next day. I love the elder feeding one and I really want to know what potion the carrot soup elder made for King Hidelleth (I have an idea, but I'd like to know for certain!).

I've enjoyed talking to all of the npcs and getting more bits of lore from those conversations. I don't have time to do all of them every day, so I just do a few, so there may still be some variations I'm unaware of.

I like the idea of new quests as well, and I really like the ability to grab them all at once, so good job ZOS.

Agreed, I love how I could grab all eight quests at once and not have to return to the quest giver after every quest. I ended up doing them all on the first day, but now I’m just turning one in every day. This is perfect because of the holiday season I don’t have as much time to play each day this week.

I do appreciate the new quests and I like them overall. My favorites are the one about the Yokudan spirits and the cooking for altmer elders.

Those are also my favorites. I like how the cooking/delivery quest has different foods to cook and different elders to deliver to. And the Yokudan spirits quest is rather touching.

Darn, I got Carrot Soup again tonight-- but the quest doesn't recognize that I've already got Carrot Soup in my inventory from the previous time I did the quest. I'll either need to end up with a lot of excess crafted foods by the end of the event, or make a temporary change to my Skill Points so I can craft just 1 portion at a time instead of 4. :(

I also would like to thank the development team for all those new quests, and then after I finish them I would like to say thanks for that super fast dragon hoard quest, so I can just skip trying to get to Eastmarch and just get my tickets. I am still not very enthusiastic about events after that wall event fiasco.

These new quests seem awfully suspicious…
    In a good way.

What if they’re alluding to the years to come?

IE. What if we get a form of Sand or Water Magic, or the ability to create our own Daedra Summon?

I'm not much of an event person so I didn't do any of the new quests because I just don't enjoy that kind of thing. I have been doing the remembrance one every day though for tickets.

But I do really enjoy that there is a Golden Pursuit that goes along with it. I hope they have one with every event!

I personally don't agree with most people on this thread.

We got a lame Solstice event, and we paid as much as before for barely half of the content we used to get in the past.

I'm expecting much, much more from ZOS than a few new quests.

And I also think that congratulating them for a bunch of new quests for a 10-year event is not something we should do. We should be far more demanding and ask ZOS for real, strong, sustainable changes.

I refuse to see these very small changes as "a good start". It's been 11 years now. We need something far bigger than that.

Also : french voices are still missing.

It's possible to criticize one thing (I think most people didn't enjoy Solstice much and found the event, including the number of bugs, extremely disappointing) and still give positive feedback about another thing.

For me, Solstice was a huge disappointment and based on that I'm extremely sceptical about next year's content. I have voiced my criticism about that often enough in another thread.

But the addition to the New Life event is a good one for what it is (= a winter holiday event), the writing style is better than what we saw on Solstice actually, so I tell the devs that. That doesn't change anything about how my opinion on Solstice or the fact that we get less content for the same price for a few years now (it's not a new thing, even if it was especially apparant this year). I just think it helps if the devs get nuanced criticism, and learn about both the things that people disliked as well as the ones they enjoyed.

I disagree. If we're not willing to give feedback on what we DO like then we run the risk of them thinking we don't like it and change it. New Life is for me one of the best handled events in the game. It's pretty perfect because it's cognizant of what's happening IRL, it's got interesting writing, and it is works well as a catch-up event.

I do want more from other events but I like New Life as is. Writhing Wall and New Life serve different purposes so I have different expectations of them. I genuinely enjoyed this update to New Life and the quests. So that's the feedback I should give.

This game has a lot of moving parts. Some of the systems need major updates. Some are already fun. And ofc we need more new stuff to do. Liking one aspect of the game as is doesn't prevent me from disliking another. Willingness to present a nuanced opinion on the game helps the devs knows what is working and what is not and more accurately identify what's urgent. I don't think it serves me or them to be purely positive or purely negative.

I hope that Zenimax improves this game not only out of a sense of duty, but out of genuine passion - out of the love that once filled the heart of The Elder Scrolls Online. A deep respect for the community should be reflected in every facet of the game.

I wish the community and everyone affected, both those who have been laid off and those who remain, a peaceful holiday season and a healthy, happy New Year for them and their families.

That's not exactly what I said. Congratulate=/= give feedback.

I'm not saying we shouldn't give them feedback on what we do like. Of course we should.

I said we shouldn't thank them for that. We paid a lot of money for such little content.

What we got this year for the full price is objectively very little.

There is a difference between saying, "this is going in the right direction, but you need to keep making efforts" and saying, "Thank our ZOS team for delivering a wonderful New Life event experience."

For now, I'm sorry, but I really don't see why I would say "thank you." I still think I didn't get half of what I paid for.

I'm also sorry for not being into this "positive attitude" vibe. Espacially when we've been pointing out the same things for so many years. The game needs more and better content very quickly if we don't want the players pool to keep shrinking. Adding a few extra quests to a 10-years old event is far from being enough.

But New Life isn't something I was expecting an update on at all. It's not part of the paid content this year. It's just a nice, unexpected bonus that made the end of the year just a little better. So yeah, I'm glad for it. And I hope they continue such practices. I really loved this update to this particular event and this thread is about this event. I'm glad OP made this thread so I could share that. I hope ZOS doesn't forget small QOL changes like these. Because QOL is important to continue to address alongside major changes. We shouldn't be getting one or the other but both.

Once again, I've never said these additions were bad.

I say it was far, too far from being enough regarding the price we paid.

ZOS made it clear last year that 2025 would be a special year with a focus on QoL and players' requests. And what did we get? Swimming mounts? A container for furnishings? A few extra quests for an event that will be done in a few minutes?

Yes, it's good, but the game just needs 10, 15, 20 times more added content like that in a year, especially when we see what we got with Solstice and the WW event.

Here is what Matt Firor said in 2024:

    8vkmr6appdq9.png

Except for the first point (that is not even achieved), we didn't get any news for the rest. This year was presented as a renewal for the game on many aspects, with a specific focus on community feedback. We are December 23, and I still don't see how this year was a turning point.

And please, don't tell me that "it takes time, we need to be patient." We've been waiting for these things to be fixed for 3, 5, sometimes 10 years now. No more excuses. I just wanna see concrete results, not promises or small additions.

2025 was said to be a transition year ahead of time. I always assumed it would be light on changes. We're supposed to be getting "exciting" news in 2026. The changes to new life aren't part of the content pass. They're QOL base game changes. You're conflating two different things.

I know but we can't expect changes that were supposed to be part of 2026 in 2025. I'm not saying 2025 hasn't been disappointing, it has. I'll also be basing my decision on playing on what actually happens in 2026. But, it isn't 2026 yet.

This time of year the only thing I expected was the New Life event. And, imo, they knocked that out of the park. The new house is gorgeous. They gave us 7 new and interesting quests and didn't make us run back and forth to take them. The new style page drops easily. At least 2025's final event of the year is ending on a high note. 2026 will be here soon enough and then I'll reassess how I feel about the game's direction at that time.

The thing is, I can’t trust them anymore. I feel like we’ve had too many promises over time. Too many bad choices. Too many disappointments.

I really hope 2026 will be a year full of new content that meets players’ expectations. But I don’t think it’s going to happen. It’s not a prediction, just my very own assumption.

I understand that big changes take time. But even at the smallest level of work (for example, taking players’ feedback on the PTS into account), they didn’t do anything about it in 2025.

Why does ZOS say that players’ feedback will be taken into account when our feedback on the PTS is quite simply ignored? It's not like it would ask them countless hours of efforts and resources to just forward our feedback to the dev team?

Actions, not promises. That’s my mantra. Trust me, I hope you are right. I sincerely do. But I can’t give my trust to ZOS anymore. Too many things have happened. We’ll see.

It has always been my opinion that when giving constructive criticism, it works better when it is paired with some good remarks as well. I believe this is the goal of the thread. If all we do is complain, then they will make less effort and perhaps give up completely. We are asking for more engagement with the playerbase but that does not mean we should verbally beat up on them at every opportunity and that they should take it.
