Veteran Bots?

I'm pretty sure I have seen a couple of harvest bots sporting VR1 levels this evening - tell tale sign of standing patiently waiting for you if you get to a node before them and harvest but don't collect.

Do you have to beat the Main Quest to get to VR1 or does hitting level 50 automatically give you the title?

If we have 'genuine' VR level bots then we're going to see the VR levels invaded too.

There are fully-leveled bots out there. I know of at least one who had leveled fifteen characters to Level 50.

I'd post more, but when I did so yesterday a mod deleted the post, claiming it was advertising. Guess ignorance is bliss.

Pretty sure you get V1 by hitting 50. As far as I know they haven't coded a third-party program to run the main quest yet, but I'd suspect they're working on it judging by the number of threads here complaining about their difficulty.

VR1 is level 50 essentially. I'm still in Coldharbor and just hit level 50, which turned into VR1 immediately.

Hitting 50 means you get VR1. But you can't get into VR zones until you finish off Molag Bal in the last quest of the main quest line.

There are more than gold farmer bots in the game. There is a forum where players are praising one specific bot program that is almost undetectable. Some people are lazy and don't want to do the tedious task of gathering or leveling themselves so they set the bot to do it for them while sleeping and/or at work.

I've never understood the logic of paying money for a game just to have someone else play it for you. Go watch a movie, it's cheaper.

It's really sad they are reaching Vet levels :( but it was always going to be happen tbh... I doubt there will ever be masses of veteran bots as most get banned before reaching that level, but there will always be some.

Found this earlier whilst browsing some forums, glad to see they are actively banning now and not sitting back like most seem to think :)

Had to edit alot of stuff out so people cant see where it came from otherwise It would be classed as advertising, but you can clearly see this guy got his ass handed to him :P

I don't support the use of botting scripts but I understand why some gamers may be using those. Getting through the VR ranks is a long and tedious slog.

I saw VR-10 bots in Cyrodiil. They all moved exactly the same directions, synchronized, dismounted at exactly the same time, attacked the exact same (poor soul) character at exactly the same time. Of course, he didn't stand a chance. I tried to get close enough to get the names, but couldn't, unfortunately. We have enough issues in Cyrodiil without bots running around.

Glad to see they are banning botters, now let's see some gold buyer bans! They are the real problem here!

Marked out the name but it was a bot train of 4.

    VR1 Glenumbra.

Followed them around for about 10 minutes. Same path the entire time. Same EXACT path. Same abilities. More than one were templar, but I don't remember if all four were.

2h charge and a lot of spear spam.

And yes, theyre banning buyers. Thing is, much like botters, they arent going to whine on the forums they got banned.

Problem is, unless you remove everything that makes the game fun and functional, youll have rmt bots.

No gold, items, player trading? Grats, people will still buy characters because leveling sucks. No levels? Grats people will bot cradting. No crafting? Grats, people will bot running in circles.

Why? Because youre not supposed to do it, therefore its a challenge.

Much like the race to hack the ps3 or sticking linux on a 360. People will still do it because its not supposed to be done.

The goldfarmers will pretty much always go with the easiest, spammiest route, but the people who are powerlevelling accounts to sell them or to get some f'd up ego kick are definitely in Vet levels.

I don't report the lowbie bots anymore. Too damn many of them, I'd like to play the game too. If I see someone in Veteran content I _always_ report.

I had a close friend who used to bot Diablo; I almost threw up on him when he told me that. For him it was never about the money, all about being sneaky and trolling dem devs. He couldn't care less about the community or the game.

Any item generated in game can be tracked. Its how duplicated items can be identified and removed.

Its also how they trace gold and item trades. RMT tainted items have gotten people banned in games that have bought or sold to someone that got gold from someont that got gold from tmt and only the original buyer knee. Three people down the chain getting banned for gold buying when they didnt because they got tainted gold from someone thats put it in general circulation...

Bots are nothing but a psychological thing, you see bots because you telling yourself they are VR bots. Calm down.

Seriously, every item generated in game is tracked? So ZOS can track who got Drippings #1 at the beginning of early access all the way up to Drippings #188276730021 in the future?

Oh, that's where they all went. I just came out of a lvl 30 delve - Harridan's Lair - without seeing a single player, not even a bot. As I fought my way through the tigers (they were pretty easy, lvl 32) I expected to find bots at the end, but no, not a single person. It was mildly shocking, that's why I came here.

If that were true, they would have to make a record for every transaction of every item. Does ZOS has NSA-like data centers?

    Not really.

And you *can* trace an item every time its changed hands.

Person A buys gold. Ises that to buy an item from person B. B buys an item from C, C buys from D.

    Ban qave goes out.

A, B, C and D get banned for having tainted currency.

This isnt new and games have been doing it at least since D2.

Records arent held forever obviously, but they *are* held for a time.

This is incredibly unfair to B, C and D, and is really stupid. I hippie zom knows better than to do this.

No, thats what happens when people dont ever want a single guilty to ever get away with it.

Im convinced its modelled after the American justice system.
