I am seeing a whole bunch of threads lately concerning how tough bosses are and that they are impossible to beat. I'm sorry but that is just ridiculous. I'm going to venture a guess and say that the majority of these people are first time MMO players. Hey, this is my first MMO as well if I might add.

I was in the same boat when I first started playing this game. I got frustrated and almost gave up. I did some research, watched some videos on YouTube about different classes/skills and passives and guess what... it helped a lot. Now I am having a blast. Currently I am a VR3 Sorc and enjoy the challenges.

Yes, some of the classes may be a little off balance but I have seen people, using all four classes, just OP Veteran rank bosses by them self. If they can do it so can you even if some are not working as intended at the moment. Read all of your skills and passives, see what will give you the best chance to succeed. I still die on occasion but I am not complaining about it. ZOS did say you can play you way but they did not promise you that your way is going to succeed.

I still remember playing Nintendo when I was young, in my mid 30's now. If anyone can relate they can tell you how hard some of those games were. I mean Mega Man 2, seriously... I still haven't beat that game with out using game genie. Could you imagine how bad it would have been for developers back then if we had the Internet / Social media like we do today?

I love this game and play it every day. I have not had any game breaking issues, not saying there aren't any at the moment, like everyone else says they are having but I think 90% of these are getting way blown out of proportion. This game came out a month and a half ago, give them time. From what I was reading Wow had just about the same problems but we didn't have social media back then like we do now to destroy it.

Once they get everything ironed out this is going to be an even more epic MMO, I just hope people start to realize that.

great seeing others having the same feelings I have towards bosses, I feels so much satisfied beating a boss, and remember guys, its a boss its suppose to be hard.

I actually yell out load YESSSS when beating a hard one, some of them aint even hard enough in my opinion (Estra for one)

Sometimes I find myself losing to a boss I would normally beat, and at that point I look up from my computer, and realizes its dark, and I need to sleep.

A good night sleep, im fresh and boss gets nuked back where he came from the day after

Don't want to see any bosses nerfed.

Do want the ability to remain grouped with my wife, throughout the game. I'm all for suspension of disbelief, but when my wife and I are each one of six hundred thousand other "only" heroes ... yeah, that's a bit tough to buy.

And when we're able to group the vast majority of the content together until suddenly ... well, because now you're again the one "only" hero out of half a million other "only" heroes ... so we going to force you into solo-only content for that, because, well ... shut up, that's why!

It fails the common sense test on far too many levels. Keep grouping in main dungeons limited to just two - you'll find most are fine with that. Heck, you can even double the HP/MP/whatever of mobs and bosses in such cases for all I care.

    Doubt it.

I'm sure they've played them before, but they clearly haven't played the toughest ones to maximum levels. Otherwise they'd be grizzled veterans with nothing to complain about.

If anything, they'd be complaining that this game is too easy.

Leveling 1-50 in this game was child's play. And phases were so heavily populated with bots and players that it felt more like a game of tag then a game of strategic thinking.

I think that the opposite is actually more useful, don't relax, go crazy and move like your on meth! That's been my strategy and it seems to work pretty well on boss encounters. I've found that if I stay in one place I get murdered but if I stay on the move, watch for the boss big strikes and don't be there for them, it works out way better.

I do agree that tactics over brute force is definitely needed in a lot of those fights.

I bought this game expecting (reasonably I think) that it would be an MMO take on the single-player Elder Scrolls games - games that are accessible and enjoyable to average players.

I had (have) lots of problems the first (few) times I get a boss encounter. I generally get the floor wiped with my ass!

But, a bit of research, a bit of watching what they do and how they do it, helps every time for me to come up with an attack plan and eventually beat them.

It's so much more satisfying, if quiet expensive in replacement keyboards, hehehe

As the saying goes in EvE Online, Adapt or Die :)

For me pve became extremely boring from around lvl 30 until v1. The veteran levels really made me love the game. You can feel when you play well or bad and you are forced to think and react in way you haven't seen in this genre for a long time.

I would be really sad if veteran levels became as boring as 30-50.

Agreed...its refreshing change from button mashing. I like the challenge in figuring out a skill set that works, planning the tactics, and then executing (especially when it works).

LOL, very true - although there is also that heart-stopping moment when your first attack/stun fails to work 'cos the games got flaky and the mob eats your face.

While I hate to see Skooma claim yet another...I concur with your assessment! Standing still is so not an option...I'm fairly certain some of the areas are set up with extra barriers to get hung up on (which is okay!)... Things are not always fought in an open field...and it forces you to be aware of your surroundings before you throw the first punch... (I dislike that there is no Athletics/Acrobatics skill directly...especially right about the time I feel like I'm slo-mo running away from a (fill in the blank as you see fit!))...

I've also died more than once because I got hung up on a rock...or a chain...or a peanut shell..., or simply backed myself into a corner. ;)

Aleister, do not feel that have (relatively) successfully done this? I think they have combined the two quite well, given that it was a whole new venture for them.

Not saying you're right or wrong, I'm just unsure if you feel they've accomplished this or if you feel they have not? (or if you're still deciding...?)

Bear in mind they are still doing some adjusting (not to be confused with nerfing!!)
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Clearly not addressed at me but... I think they have 90% done this well. It is possible that if/when they fix some of the skills that that number will be nearer 95%.

But I do find, in VR more than 1-50, that some bosses drive me insane as a solo player and I have also found that maybe 7/10 times that I find this there are other people of the same class looking for a group to take down what is a solo boss. In those few cases then I would suggest tweaks need to be made.

Equally there are world bosses that I can smack down solo at the same level and those probably need to be harder.

I don't think the veteran content and levels are the biggest issue on these threads. The biggest issue is Fighter, Mage and Main questline especially the Main which if you are not able to solo you will not see the veteran content.

I'm sure we'll have great challenge and fun with my wife in the veteran leveling given that we both are able to get there, though currently if solo-quest elite or boss is too hard I have to stop what I'm doing and play it for her.

She was introduced to gaming through console, now this is the first game she plays on PC and her first MMO. Lot to learn and quite little patience.
