[REQUEST] Repeatable Story Mode for dungeons

I have almost leveled all my 20 chars to level 50 and consequently have run the basic dungeons any times. Not once did I manage to convince people to wait for me to do the quests in a slow fashion so I can get the story. I still, after so many years of ESO, don't know the story behind fungal grotto I because people just rush thru and pull me to the bosses.

Sometimes this is so fast that the last quest point find/kill the peligars for instance is still open while the boss I should kill is already dead.

So I request - like so many before - to implement a story mode of the dungeon where one can do it solo even when low level char and which can be repeated but without the additional rewards of a skill point. The code for preventing quest rewards to drop exists already for trials. It should be not difficult to have this implemented for dungeons.

I'd love to see this, but I've given up hope. It's one of those things that always seem to be on their list, but instead they keep iterating over the same stuff. Lately if something isn't combat-focused, it doesn't get much attention.

I'd be very happy to be wrong, though.

Forgive me for being blunt, but if Fungal Grotto I isn't already story mode to you, maybe you are not the right hero for Vila Theran's job? The effort required to solo/low-man this is significantly lower than introducing a new difficulty level.
If they really introduce new difficulty scaling overland is in a much greater need of some adjustment options. Don't get ne wrong, if they decide to bring such a Story Mode - no issue there. But you can't believably claim that you have exhausted your options.

It's not about the difficulty level of Fungal Grotto itself. You completely misread my post.

The issue with rushing thru dungeons is common to other dungeons as well. A lot of players don't give time for reading thru dialogues and just go from one fight to another.

Story mode should as well apply to other dungeons, even the most difficult one's as well and above all should be repeatable.

I read your post. I implied that you may as well take the time to do it by yourself, the way you would in a Story Mode. Because it is fully feasible.

One reason I prefer the public dungeons. I can go as slow as I want doing quests, exploring, killing everything in sight.
Yet when it comes to the bosses or group events...just wait a few minutes and others show up and you group kill.
Then everyone is back on their merry way.

For Fungal Grotto, sure. But not everyone can solo Lep Seclusa or other DLC dungeons. So don't get hung up on the mention of Fungal Grotto. A story mode for all dungeons has been requested for a while.

To me this is just learned helplessness. If you really like to know how a quest story plays out you might as well take the necessary steps to do it. Find like-minded players, ask for help, use a companion or make the required modifications to your build. How high is the replayability value of such a mode? What if it is still too hard for some? Where is the line drawn? Point and click? Yes, it has been asked for quite a few times, but the way these requests are formulated you can practically feel that no efforts have been undertaken from the side of the player. The choice of the examples matters in this case.

Group finder and quest runs have low compatibility, that has been established. The devs created a separate tool to help with that.

In my eyes the length, quality, context and depth of dungeon quests does not warrant the resources needed for providing an even easier mode than the currently existing normal mode. When the player interaction becomes so negligible, you might as well watch it on Youtube.

I think ZOS commented on this topic the last time it was posted. What I recall is them saying it's something on their radar but it's not as simple as just making the dungeon easier, they have to design a whole new difficulty level.

Totally agree with OP, but to me it seems like ZOS don't consider it a problem. It's quite opposite actually. Every time I get force teleported to the boss fight I see the signal from ZOS saying: "Go fight and do not dare to waste these good men time for your stupid questing!".
And the force teleport wasn't always there; to the moment it was added people already pointed out the issue many times, but ZOS decided to make it even worse.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

If it has been requested for so long and from many people, why not find those people and run together?
Story mode runs are being run in guilds and among friends. You have means to achieve you goals already.

New toons need skill points. Of course you are going to complete the dungeon quest when you do RND with a new toon. And when that toon is level 50 most of the base game dungeon quests are completed. Unless you Skyreach/BRP power level the toon, but even then when you are doing RND you want the skill point anyway.

When a skill point is tied to a dungeon quest, it results in this. I have no idea about any of the base game dungeon story lines although I can solo those that are soloable. That's because I have collected the skill points already and the dungeon quests are not repeatable like trial quests are.

I would like that too. Non-DLC dungeons without 2-player mechanics and some DLC dungeons can be done solo. But in those that can't I haven't had the opportunity to hear/read the quests yet. You don't want to slow down the group. But you also don't want to wait forever for a premade group, so you use dungeon- and not group finder.
