We've been getting new skills added each Vengeance test, and by this point we have many different build options. Which builds work for you in Vengeance?


To start things off, here's the build I've been using in Test 3:

On the front bar, I open with Shield Charge and immobilize the enemy with Trap Beast. I then cast Backlash and spam Silver Bolts until the enemy is ready to be executed with Radiant Destruction. I have Dawnbreaker in case I need to put more pressure on the enemy, but I always wait to immobilize the enemy before using it.

On the back bar, I use Vigor as an emergency stamina self heal over time and Grand Healing as an AoE magicka heal over time. Rune Focus is used for extra armor, and Sun Shield is used for a damage shield (although I may swap these out with something else). Finally, Siege Shield is useful for keeping allies alive when attacking keeps, and Rite of Passage is another AoE heal.

    Vengeance Test 4 is here! We have predefined Loadouts that we can use as a starting point for our builds, but I went ahead and fully customized my build with the new Perks introduced. Here are the Perks I'm using alongside the build I shared in the original post:

    These perks:
    • Increase damage done by 5%, but reduce Critical Damage by 11%.
    • Increase Alliance Rank experience by 10%.
    • Reduce the cost of all abilities by 5%.

    As for my build. I'm still tweaking. Weapon skills are basically junk at this point due to the lack of passives and no poisons/enchants. ZOS need to put some more thought into that.

    So, need to break out of my Live mindset and re-build from scratch. I'm also not a fan of all my skills being Magicka. All my builds are Stam based, so I have a bias against Magicka.

    All available. You can change them anytime and your loudout - but only back at base camps.

    All available. You can change them anytime and your loudout - but only back at base camps.

    Nice. Okay, perfect, so we won’t have to play a weird perk optimization mini-game before each fight.

    But I played “test 3” for a couple days and MagNB/MagSorc is easy mode. Which is exactly how BB was in 2016 when gear didn’t matter much.

    Well, how about joining so you can give some detailed constructive feedback that will alter the outcome. Vengeance is coming, you can either help steer it or continue to complain about something you don't know anything about.

    WoS is pretty much junk in Vengeance. Puts players off-balance but with the cut-down skills and no CP there isn't really much to capitalize with after. Plus there are no enchants or poisons for weapon AoEs to proc.

    Feel like I’ve given my “constructive” feedback….. and even now and even though I’m not a fan, I’m not *entirely* against Vengeance, I’m against them committing resources to it while abandoning balance (the real issue) and GH ruleset Cyro. I think my first feedback ever on it was that Vengeance would be a decent replacement for under 50/no cp campaigns.

    You don’t need them, it’s continuous sticky DoT pressure, and in an AoE. I had great success with it when fighting outnumbered.

    Running pressure on Necro, Templar, Dragonknight, and Arcanist, makes you competitive in that campaign.

    People complain and say it’s a player count game, yet with a group of 3 people, that entire campaign, we repeatedly won against overwhelming odds.

    This is what I’ve been running, with Bolster Penetration, Cat Fall, and Combat Adept.

    While not as effective as my other Templar setup, that falls back on how bad Living Death is in general for PvP.

    Yeah, me and some guildmates have been looking forward to getting to play Werewolf in Vengeance for a while now. Several of them won't touch Vengeance because they can't play Werewolf in it.

    I will say that the werewolf art in the Bolster Ferocity perk icon looks pretty cool, and I'm hoping that's a little more confirmation that Werewolf will be added soon. After all, Werewolf was one of the skill lines we could vote for during the last survey to be added to Vengeance, so I believe that it'll happen eventually.

    We got this response regarding Werewolf being added to Vengeance:
    Can you please add Werewolves to Vengeance?
    At some point, we would like to add both Werewolves and Vampires to Vengeance as resources are available.

    When we get Vengeance Werewolf Transformation, I'll be sure to give it a go and share tips/tricks for it!
