Could not possibly agree more; In fact, this was a QOL feature I had suggested from a year or two ago.

There are other similar suggestions out there that have been made and not acted upon.

I'd love to have an option to view all the effects for skills/weapons and mounts/pets as a really basic and simplified version. It's harder and harder to know what skills are being used in fights, especially now that skill styles have changed and re-coloured many. And that's coming from a player who has one of most classes so can recognise skills pretty well. A new player isn't going to have a clue what's going on!

The crazy thing is, I'm sure even Ultima Online (yes that old thing!) had the option to display simpler combat effects. So it's crazy that nobody thought we should have a similar option in ESO. Just doing one trial with my guild has often been my only gaming in an evening sometimes because it just tires my eyes out focusing with all the effects. Other games never do that to me at all. I think it's the combination of trying to watch for what my team mates are doing and timing a rotation/remembering timers. Especially as the healer because bad things tend to happen if I have a lapse in concentration :D

Yes, please. Give us the option to turn off flashy mounts, skill styles, etc.

I agree 100%, too flashy that it's blinding.

I also have issues with all the ground aoe in the latest dungeons...there's almost nowhere to stand. Whybdoes everything have to be over the top.

Often take newbies into newer dungeons. During the mech run down I will usually tell them that to "find the floor" rather than "avoid the AoEs".

    Meanwhile over at GW2:

I stopped playing GW2 because of the stupid trolls placing banners and other interactable objects on top of lootable chests after meta-events, but holy moly, I'm glad I stopped before this became a thing :open_mouth:

I am the very model of a scientist Salarian, I've studied species Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).

I would absolutely love to be able to hide other people's effects, especially the circle from banners. I guess I'm not as mentally agile as I used to be but a screen full of flashing and swirling lights is very distracting especially when I'm trying to pay attention to mechanics.

You should try tanking, you won't be distracted from the mechs by the effects ... because you won't be able to see the mechs through the effects. :D

Let us disable skill styles client-side please.

Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

I agree on the excessive graphics in big fights. Though since I generally avoid big fights by soloing dungeons, I actually find the exploding neon cartoon mount graphics more obtrusive because they are harder to select content that avoids them. The best I can do is to try and process loot in my home instead of in town. Still, I need to turn in quests. . . . I would love for a settings option that changes what I see to being every player on a mount riding a plain sorrel horse.

I want there to be a toggle particle effects for mounts client-side as well as skill styles. Skill styles contribute massively to the rave and have gameplay negatives.

Also, I miss the days of plain mounts like a tiger, horse, or guar that don't light up like a nuclear warhead when summoned or running around. :)
