I learned that "Ignore" button is pretty useful and you can avoid a lot of mental damage reading this forum by using it.

    Needs more slots, though.

*In the Infinite Archive, when Laatvulon flies into the air and rains destruction on you, his strafe pattern isn't random. First, you'll be safe in the area you first spawned. Next, rotate 90 degrees to be safe from his second one.

*For the centipede world boss in the Dead lands, he won't do his roll attack (that pins you and has to be interrupted by someone else) if you stay within melee range of him.

*The Fighter's Guild dailies can be picked up from the safety of your alliance's base and doesn't require any trips to PvP hotspots. These count for the Midyear Mayhem.

Did not know any of these, especially the last one. Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome. I forgot to mention, to claim these quests you'll need the Bounty Hunter passive from the Fighter's Guild skill line.

      Moderation is heavy handed.

If you aren’t heaping praise on the devs here you will get banned.

The forum traffic is boiling down to “sunk-cost-fallacy” players who just cannot walk away, similar to the real game. Myself included unfortunately.

While I agree with you that the moderation is sometimes a bit much, if what you said was true, your post would have been moderated as well.

But hey, anyway, to answer OP, I quite like the game, even though there is a bit too much to do, so it's overwhelming.
PVE is fine, and you can find no shortage of PUG to join (in pcEU, at least)

There have been a lot of tips I have read about here, but the one I use multiple times every day is the one about using R2 and L2 to quickly scroll to the next category in the UI menus.

It saves a lot of wear and tear on my fingers and hands.

Most recently, how to change the frame rate cap and core/thread limits used via the settings to solve some performance issues.

Care to share your knowledge with us?

Open: My Documents -> Elder Scrolls Online -> Live -> usersettings file (make a backup of your existing version before making changes).

      To cap your frames, search for the line: SET MinFrameTime.2 "X" and set "X" to 1/YourDesiredFrameRate (for example: 100 FPS = 1 / 100 = 0.01 for X).

To set your cores and threads, search for these lines:

      SET MaxCoresToUse.4 "X"
      SET RequestedNumJobThreads "X"
      SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "X"

It's probably better to reference the specific post for this (and the "best" configuration will depend upon your specific CPU model), but in general you want to change these from the default values of -1 to a specific capped value. The -1 value basically means "as many as the game wants to use" but that is not the best solution for most players.

Not read it on forum but discovered it just now: in case any of you missed it like me for years, you can swap in and out your many saved outfits on the fly from the character sheet page of the menu - no need to go to the dye/outfit station every time or use add-ons... Wish I knew it sooner. Helps a lot with roleplay and gives more appeal to the purchase of outfit slots.

If you are on PC you can get an addon called AlphaStyle. Should be part of the game. Lets you change a whole bunch on the fly.

Maybe the tip I value the most might be that all those items you have to type "DESTROY" to destroy can be marked as junk, then in the Junk tab you can hit the X (on PC) to delete all junk, skipping the "DESTROY' step for every single item in your junk tab.

I ever meet the person who originally posted that here, I'm buying him/her a beer.

If you have access to add-ons consider one called Lazy Confirm by Dolgubon.

I thought of another one. In Tales of Tribute, change the 1 power card over to a writ of coin asap. This helps greatly with your economy.

...when digging for antiquities, after you've completed the antiquity itself, you can connect up the fissures (smoking squares) that usually damage the antiquity and blow up a whole bunch of squares at once with no damage. It's the easiest way to find most of the bonus items.

I've never been able to do this. A friend tried to guide me through it once but it just didn't work for me. And I can watch videos about it but still can't get it to work. I don't know what I'm missing.

My working hypothesis is that if you can trigger a chain explosion of all the gas vents, then you'll find at least two and usually all three of the bonus items. Being able to trigger that explosion requires having Rank 7 in Excavation so you can slot the skill point to do it.

Once I've located the Antiquity (Augur), I use the path-making between the gas vents to generate the intuition to remove the next layer(s) over the Antiquity. The priority is the Antiquity, though, and the bonus loot is exactly that: bonus. So I find the gas vent at the lowest site level and then make a path between it and the others at that same level. Once I've got four intuition built up, I'll remove two layers over the Antiquity (3x3 shovel). Go back to path-building to get four more intuition and remove two more layers over the antiquity. By that point, I'm either one layer away from the Antiquity or I've exposed most of it and know where the last covered bits are. Once the Antiquity is fully exposed, it's just finishing the path and triggering before the timer runs out. If I have to ignore one vent, then it gets ignored and I take what I can get, but I'm pretty consistent about doing the chain explosion with several turns remaining and getting all three bonus items. I seldom turn up the last bonus loot with that any time left over after the chain, though.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.
