Addons out of date but not upgradable?

I haven't seen any information of add-ons available to update in the options menus for a while now. But I am getting notifications that some are out of date. I do notice that some say they are out of date in the "Manage My Add-ons" menu, but they don't show as updatable in the "Browse add-ons" menu, and uninstalling/reinstalling them has no effect - they still say out of date. I feel like I'm no longer seeing accurate updatable info in the Browse menu, since things used to show as updatable often and now they never do.

The author probably hasn't updated the mod yet. On PC, most of our addons are always "out of date" but they work fine.

What does "out of date" even mean if there's not a newer version available??

It's not confirmed to work in the current version, eventually out of date addons can stop working but it's usually fine.

Add-ons come with a file that doesn't contain any actual code, but things like title, description, author, and the version of the client it's compatible with. If the version number of the client goes up and the addon keeps working, a lot of developers don't bother to upload a "new" version where the only change is the version number in that file. The mismatch causes eso to flag it as "out of date".

It is almost like they are supposed to be out of date at some point, it is not something you need to pay too much attention to or try fix yourself. It is just to make you aware that the addon has not been validated on latest version of the game yet, mostly just information...until it no longer works of course.

Game updates happen and all addons get out of date. Some update quickly other remain on previous versions.
Sometimes there is no need to make updates so they can stay out of date for a very long time but still functional.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's about addons.

Out of date is just a number comparison!
    https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9295

The ingame API function returns a number, currently for patch 48 it is 101048.
And if the addon's manifest file (.addon) contains an ## APIVersion: 101047 only, but no 101048, then this addon is considered out of date -> but that does not say if the addon still works or not, and it does not say if you need to do something or not.

Just ignore it, it always was an information that does more trouble than it actually helps ;-)
Check your addon updates every here and there, on console it should do it automatically either way.
And if you notice any error with an addon, report it to the addon developer(s).
