Announcement: I will continue to concede

If some believe that any time penalty will keep me from conceding a lost match in ToT, be my guest. I will do it anyway because it is a completely SANE decision and ABSOLUTELY NORMAL in ANY card game in REAL life.
Considering that ToT even does not have a REAL rng behavior when dishing out cards in the tavern or into the hand of a player it adds to the outrageous decision to maintain a time penalty on concessions.

I mean get your rng right for a card game and then we can talk again about time penalties. When a card game is lost during the initial roll of a rng seed I beg your pardon ...

What I've been doing, once it's clear to me that the game is unwinnable for me, is, rather than concede (which would be the rational thing to do, I agree) I play to lose. I can avoid the penalty that way.

Yup. Just end your turn without playing any cards and repeat until your opponent wins.

Like a lot of parts in this game, It's often so lopsided it's not even funny.

I rarely play against other players-- only when there's an endeavor to do so-- but occasionally I lose to the NPCs, and usually it is pretty obvious after the first turn or two that I don't stand much of a chance. I always play the rest of the match anyway, and try my best to pull off a miracle-- which sometimes does happen. And on the rare times when I'm playing against a player, I'll play the match through to the end, even if it looks like I'm going to lose. It's s card game, and randomness is a major part of it, so you can't be absolutely certain of the outcome from just the first turn or two.

My point is that the "randomnes" in ToT is not really randomness. Its randomness is pretty limited.

In ESO environment this limitation on randomness makes fully sense when players loot and grind for stuff. It keeps frustration levels within certain limits because the probability that a player will farm and farm and farm without ANY rewards is much lower in this way.

However, they transposed this system to ToT and while it may be acceptable against NPC, it has zero place in a match against another player.

Time penalty protects against unlimited box farm.

While RNG can be pretty rough, often there is a chance even if initial turns are not in your favor - you can get some goods draws a bit later. Also when person becomes certain in their win, they may start making mistakes, particularly if not top tier player.

It doesn't. Cooperating players can finish the game “property” in less than a minute without anyone conceding (just pick AORC and favor them in 4 turns or even less if lucky). Even with concedes, they can cycle through 9+ characters each, so it's one game in 33 or less seconds.

Well, I've meant super fast blue box farm.

Even if it's a problem, could they make the solution to be less “in your face”? Like, if you conceded in the first minute of the game your next queue will tick for one minute before connecting you with someone. Because setting it to 10 minutes and not allowing to queue at all — I can only explain this by malice. You have to sit and watch several minutes of your slow death animation, or you're going to stand in the corner for 10 minutes (regardless of how many time you've already spent in the game btw).

There is a simple remedy to this: Put a cooldown on boxes - not on matches.

Won only ONE game today all day, because opponent conceded after game finally favored me for once with good cards in the first 3 rounds. But have been losing to bad RNG again ever since.
