Zos needs to Balance ToT bad. Here are some of the problems.

1. Power decks- Power decks rule the roost now. They cost very little and give you too much power. Especially Saint Pelin and Hermaeus Mora. You get Chromatic aura or the armory first turn and its over for the other player.

2.Rahjhin deck- It needs more break per card. Stubborn Shadow need at least 3, Jeering shadow and prowing shadow needs 2, this would help balance the power decks. It also needs more bewilderment cars. 1 at neutral and 2 at favored.

3. Each patron sideboard should cost more. It is ridiculous that it cost only two power to use any of the power side boards. It should be a minimum of 4. And the Sorcerers king and Rajhin should cost a 4 no matter the position no matter.

4. Make the win cap to 80 for competitive. 40 is fine for casual, but competitive needs to be held at a higher standard.

A big NO to the bolded part. Spamming bewilderment gameplay is as toxic as it can get.

They would be better off by toning down the overpowered pounce/grand larceny and some cards that give too great of advantage at the start of the game (such as Customs Seizure and the Voracious Tomeshell).

I don't know that there's really anything that can be done to fix ToT.

It's iinherrently flawed in that the more upgraded cards any player has, the worse it is for all players. At a certain point in the upgrade process, almost every match boils down to whichever lucky player gets to purchase the first power card to land in the tavern.

ToT should've been a proper deck building game like any actual good card game. Hell, even important Elder Scrolls Legends would've been a proper move over ToT.

Can't support these ideas, sorry. I think ToT is balanced "good enough". Not good, not excellent, not perfect. But literally "good enough".

Agreed. In addition, absolutely everything done with/at/to ToT is a complete waste of time and energy for both players and the company.

The problem with ToT is and has always been the RNG. Two players of equal ability and equal decks will always have the match determined by the first 3 draws.

Well, to be fair, that's the case with other games also. The more two players are close to each other concerning skill and decks/builds/playing pieces, the more rng makes the difference if the game has any kind of rng components.

ToT is about strategy, but you often need luck! Because out of nowhere the game can turn! It's frustrating sometimes; I usually say that ToT is you against 2 opponents... the opposing player, and the game itself!

Moreso in ToT though, because unlike the other card/deck games, in both players draw from a shared communal pool of cards. There's essentially zero deckbuilding strategy since both players are sharing the deck.

Lol the Rahj changes would be hideous. Rahj games would go from averaging 40 minutes to averaging two hours. If anything Rahj needs to be nerfed hard, most people don't want super long games.

I don't think it should be made more powerful, but I don't think nerfing is the answer. Raj is the only deck that can slow down progress and therefore make the game more genuinely strategic. (It's actually my favourite deck for this reason.) If opponents are of different experience levels it can be painful, but with two players who understand the deck it does more than any other deck to stop ToT being a pure RNG fest.

The patron needs to be far more expensive though.

Designers seem to have taken the "stop worrying and play the game" approach to balance for ToT and it's not becoming.

The power decks/cards are a bit rng unbalanced when they land in early game. It's mostly because the prestige goal is only 40, so if you're trying to build a fun deck the game will be over and settled way too fast, and with certain power heavy decks luck is a significant factor.
If you just want to get it over with then 40 is of course great. I actually enjoy ToT, and wish there were different game modes though, so I could at least occasionally choose a longer game, which would offer a really cool deck building experience - doesn't matter if they can only do that for npc practice, because of queue timers, anything would be nice.

They need to boost Raj deck's power drain and add another deck that drains power. This would counter those who play only power decks aka burn decks

In PvP I only play power decks like Red Eagle, Hermaes Mora and Pelin because of the "game length extender" decks like Raj and Alm especially. My target time is a PvP game done in under 8 minutes, the faster the better.

A 30 min+ game with Raj, Alm, Psijic and Alessia is pure pain.

What for? To build a deck? To enjoy a deck? To achieve powerful combinations?

That's not my mindset. Personally I think ToT is constructed as a race to 40. So I try to start fast and cross the finish line first.

And that is a valid play style, but there needs to be options to counter power decks.

Aren't Alm and Raj enough? You can't choose more than two decks and spamming Raj alone is enough drain for a game, at least that's my experience. Combined with taking enemy cards from the field through Alm, well, that helps to counter power decks.

That's a good strategy in theory, but power decks give you 3 to 6 power for at max 6 coins. where as with Raj have to spend 4 to 6 coins to get 1 to 2 power steal, and you have to combo just to be able too.

This game has devolved into a "Race to the finish" where 90% of players stack power decks. It has ruined the game. Every now and again you get players that play non power decks, and the game is fun, but itnis rare.

All I am saying is there need to be viable counters to power decks. If a power deck can give you 20 power in one round there needs to be a deck that can take half of that away in one round. That's all.

They need to rig the quest for ToT to be easy to complete so I can get it out of my log. I don't care about ToT enough to learn it and it is not engaging content that I enjoy, so the fact that I cannot complete the quest in High Isle for it really irks me.

i can't agree with any of these ideas. anything that makes the matches longer is a no-go for me. it's already painful enough for them to last as long as they do

Every AI/NPC opponent, regardless whether novice or master, questline or random challenge, bend over backwards to give the player every opportunity to win. I've seen too many instances where the AI could easily and brutally finish me off, but instead makes a series of peculiarly bad decisions when all the while before it was right on point.

Doesn't last forever though. Out of curiosity I thought I'd see how long I could milk it. Eventually it will get smart again and actually play to win.

It's funny how Raj has been obviously from toxic from the start, the designers know that, and they haven't done anything to make it less toxic.

But spamming power cards is fun? Raj takes skill to play. Anyone (most do) can pick Pelin or any of the other cards. Do you really find the game fun as a race to the end? Spamming power decks?

Why are you playing? The whole point is to play the game. Is it just for the rewards or daily? If so why not play casual? If you play just to finish quickly that's fine, but some of us like to actually have a skillful challenge rather than spamming power cards to 40.
