Writhing Wall Event – Consolidated Messaging Thread

As a player of ESO for many years, this is actually the first time I have been disappointed (borderline irritated) by an event.

Not because of the repetitive dailies, or even the drop rates (terrible though they are), but because this was marketed as a huge deal, something ZOS have never done before. This was the 'big thing', an 'I was there' moment.

But it isn't - it's pretty much the same thing we've been doing for years, but with what seems to be slightly lower drop rates, tied to an arbitrary progression bar that has to eventually reach 100%, regardless of my actions because I've already paid for it. Maybe the next phases will be better, and truly 'new' but so far I'm not convinced. I really hope I'm proved wrong,

Ever since they adjusted the meter for the wall event, pc na is only getting 6% a day. And now we have the witches festival too, slowing progress even further. At this rate, we won't get to the other half of the chapter until dec. This is one of the most boring events I've seen in 11 years, and we still have 2 more phases to go. I'd just like to play the content that I paid for and not have it locked behind an event that is trickling forward. With how this chapter was released, this is going to be my last chapter here after playing since Day 1.

Actually, I'd be willing to bet that the Witches Festival may boost the progress a bit. Because the Siege Camps award Plunder Skulls, so there could very well be more players completing the Siege Camp and Charging the Lens daily missions.

Idk, if you wanna grind skulls Alik'r dolmens are much faster than the siege camps.

[edit] Not that I mind in any way. LOL! But doubted it is intentional by design.

Question for the ZOS folks in this thread, is this timer on the character select screen accurate? Is the Writhing Wall event ending in less than 3 days?

Mind you, although it's a disappointing event, I do also have to say that that is the fastest I have ever hit a golden pursuit capstone. So there's that...

@ZOS_Icy how many boxes am i gonna have to farm to unlock this house. i am around 1000 farmed and nothing. I have a busy life outside this game, and it's quite disheartening to spend my time farming and not enjoying the other aspects of the game. random drops are a bad idea. i know people farming day and night can;t get the house and then some one else gets it first box... not cool.

It's basically a radiant apex reward, expecting that you'll have it drop if you just farm enough boxes is like expecting that you'll win the lottery if you just buy enough tickets.

So they go away from the zone events of the past where the progress would reward everyone a house when comp[leted.. to awarding a house people already own and those that dont wont likely get it if they spend night and day farming it. Been here since day 1 this is the most ridiculous thing i ever heard of for this game... Btw if i bought a 1000 crates i would get the radiant apex guaranteed

I looted it from a Siege Camp chest.

Dunno why in-game display isn't Legendary Gold rather than Trash/Common Grey. Because honestly, if I hadn't barely caught it from the corner of my eye, I'd likely not have noticed that the house was added to my collection until much much later. LOL!

I looted it from a Siege Camp chest.

You are more likely to earn the 1 million gold needed to buy the house, by doing the quests and selling all rewards to NPC vendors than you are to obtain the house via one of the reward boxes.

No, you would get enough gems to buy it long before that happened.

I thought of a reward that would actually make people play these repeatable quests more: each of the gold/blue reward boxes gives you a stat increase of 2% till the end of the day. So a maximum of 12% increase for each of the stats. One type of quest would increase magicka, another stamina, another health, and another (preferably the siege camp one) increase in weapon/spell damage. Would this be a reward fighting for?

The event description says it will last until phase 3 is completed.

i noticed this earlier today as well. its been 12 days and the reward track requires 15 so i just assumed the 19 hours is the 3rd day.
too bad if you couldnt log in one day but need the log in to count toward the 20 tracks for the mount

the whole event is just dlc promotion. ive played every single day since it started and only ever found 2 devices in the open world. if they wernt trying to fomo the dlc then it would not be so obviously gated

The non-solstice devices haven't been spawning well for months now. It's actually spawning more often during this event afaik.

If you know the locations where those little mini dolmens spawn (there are addons that show them on your map) it's not hard to find soul reapers in the open world, because those are some of the potential spawn points for them. They also seem to spawn at some points where the mini dolmens don't spawn, but I don't know of any maps of those spawn points, so it's a lot easier to find them by riding between spawn points for mini dolmens in base game zones. Any of the 15 base game Alliance zones (not including the starter zones) will work, but I suggest Alik'r as a good zone to look for them because you can generally see them from a long way away in the desert.

That's what happened to me. Our guildhouse is a Coldharbour surreal estate and I'm used to go there for crafting and logout while still inside, so next time I login I'm placed wherever I was before porting to the guildhouse. Only this time I logged in to a completely empty Coldharbour surreal estate, and it took me some time to realise this was my own. Only after checking collections and confirming it was listed there, I started to realise that I had to have looted it from a siege camp chest (with autoloot) and didn't even notice it.
