I bought it, but given the increase in price and reduced content for that price (compared to previous years, and compared to other games in terms of "unique playable hours") I won't be buying next year.

It was a birthday gift from a friend, so we can play together. So technically it didn’t bought it.But both of us won’t buy it again next year

Success should be divided into two parts: short-term success, which is mostly about promises, and long-term success, which is about the delivered content and trust.
I used to always make a pre-order, until last year, when companions were removed from the chapter and sold separately in the fall. Because of that, this year I didn’t make a pre-order and bought it on sale before the hyped event. I don’t regret it at all, since the actual content in the chapter gave me only about 5 hours of gameplay. The first phase of the event also doesn’t feel worth the money for me so far. But there are still two more phases, and it’s them that will determine how I will buy in the future, and whether I will buy at all.

What I mean is, those who stayed in the game might have even bought the content pass. But it’s more reliable to look at how many people will still be playing a year or two after the new changes.

I personally didn't buy it. I bought the dungeon packs seperately.
Since I could get access to dungeons with buying them seperately or being subbed I don't really see the value proposition being there.
Will wait for deep discount before considering. Even at 32 bucks on its current sale price I wouldn't see myself getting it unless I would get dungeon packs refunded.

I haven't bought it myself for various reasons:

      - Light on content, which is probably the reason why they included the dungeon DLC
      - I have a sub, which would have meant paying twice for DLC I'll never use (the dungeons)
      - The writing present in the last couple of expansions was atrocious and I play ESO only for the story.
      - The price

Now, comparing it to the upcoming WoW expansion for the same price (€ 50,-,) which I actually preordered despite playing WoW less than ESO, shows how little content there actually is. Midnight is adding housing, new gameplay systems, overhaul of several zones, 2 new zones in addition to a class overhaul.

That doesn't look good for ESO at all which is shame. To be honest, I think the season pass content should have been included with ESO+, as a standalone thing it doesn't offer enough content.

If it's around €10 in the November sale as previous Upgrades were I might buy it, but probably not.

I was interested in the sandy durzog mount, but saw someone riding one in-game and it's permanently surrounded by a cloud of sand, so lost all interest there.

I think I'll wait 'till Solstice is separately available as zone DLC next year and buy it with remaining ESO+ Crowns, and possibly wait for a sale at that. Plenty of other zones I still have to complete.

I am not buying the content pass because it includes DLC dungeons.

I am waiting to see if Solstice will be sold without the dungeons and included in the ESO plus subscription in the future.

I can't seem to find the Content Pass FAQ anymore, but I'm pretty sure there were official answers in there that yes, the Solstice zone will be handled the same as Chapters were: at some point in 2026, the Solstice zone and story will be released as Crown Store DLC separate from the dungeons, and as DLC will be included in ESO+.

I bought standard as I have all the previous Chapters.

Given the minuscule amount of new content for the inflated price, especially if you’re already an ESO+ subscriber, I will NOT be buying next year until after I have seen what’s on offer.

This year has been a disgusting rip-off.

I haven't bought it yet, but not because of what's in it (or not in it). I decided long before the 'content pass' format was announced that I wouldn't buy the next chapter right away. I'm quite a way behind on the main stories and have barely touched Gold Road so I decided I should play what I've got first.

Contradictoraly I was kind of hoping ZOS would make it a difficult choice, but subclassing was a base game update so the pass didn't have a new feature, meaning there is no reason for me to get it until I'm up to that point in the story.

Weird set of choices, since it implies that you buying it means it was successful and completely discounts the people who bought it and were disappointed (which I believe is a large population).

But yes, I bought it. And yes, I'm wholly disappointed. And yes, because of how badly they fumbled this, I'm likely not going to buy the next one.*

This Pass was more expensive than Chapters, I was forced to buy the dungeons that I get through ESO+ anyway, and I got a zone that didn't exist in lore that reused a bunch of assets and just felt like everything was contrived to just make the story happen. The only thing this Pass offerred at the end of the day was endless FOMO, and that's not worth $50. Maybe worth the sale prices (or a free code from a streamer), but not a day-one price.

*ok, there is one thing that will get me to buy the next pass day one sight unseen: a new Class. But even then, that's including more stuff than this one, considering that 2025's brought no new features.

        Yes and no.

An in-game friend bought it the Standard Edition as a Steam's Gift to me and, even though I had most of the contents individually purchased, I was still missing things, like Arcanist class and a dungeon pack here and there. It was great to “complement” my account, but it could've been even better if EVERYTHING was unlocked as I understood it would be.

Even though everything I didn't have unlocked, for some reason, Scions of Ithelia (Oathsworn Pit and Bedlam Veil) did not, and when I questioned the support team through a ticket they (a little petulantly, I dare say) demanded me to prove I had bought the DLC. And because I couldn't find such proof — dunno, maybe Steam's Gift history cleared/resetted after claimed — I still don't have access to said dungeons.

I eventually found buried deep in my mailbox a receipt sent by Steam, but then I was too... unmotivated, for the lack of more polite words, that I ended not reopening the ticket.

I don't like this new season pass model, especially since I thought ESO was over-monetized already. So I will not be buying the pass out of principle.

Already paid enough for ESO+ and I can do without Solstice and a goofy title. I shouldn't have to pay more than ESO+ when the quality and quantity of content has only been decreasing. I might have been swayed if ZoS had shared a solid plan for next year and made some assurances that long-standing issues would be addressed in a timely manner but this year was way too rocky and the future even more uncertain. They really need to start talking about their plans as soon as possible in my opinion.

I was hesitant, but then decided to buy it. One reason was that they said this was a "transitional year" to the new model and would still be rather close to the story chapter concept - so I told myself this might be the last big story expansion for some time anyway, so why not... Another reason was that they talked about finally progressing time in Tamriel and all that stuff about continuing the main story - I had, maybe naively, hoped that they would maybe look at what had been well-received during ESO's early years, and get back to that a bit. Including the writing quality, the complexity or lore, etc.

What we got in West Solstice instead was an extremely short main storyline, lore incongruencies (those two Sanguine quests...), and some weird plot holes in the main story. I didn't want to judge it before seeing the other half of the story, thinking maybe some questions will get answered there, and the story might get more interesting (as some years ago I usually found the winter story dlc more interesting than the summer one)... Let's say I've been on PTS, and it's not quite it.

Overall, what disappoints me most is probably the thought of what could have been done with the base premise of the story, and what actually had been made of it, which was quite formulaic and, sorry, boring. And of course, the chapters get smaller and smaller, no special chapter feature and no companions anymore, this time even the dolmen type locations weren't present until now that the event began. Main story took maybe about 5 to 6 hours in total, if you really took your time and listened to all dialogues. For comparison: Back in times of Morrowind and Summerset, a chapter was said to have about 30 hours of story content, plus the winter dlc was supposed to have about 15.

I'm very sceptical when it comes to next year.

I originally wanted to do a follow-up poll, but it seems to be unnecessary.

It's pretty clear so far that their model was a short term success, but it also became obvious that many are unhappy with what was delivered. So I'd say the new model is most likely not successful long term.
I fully expected a lot people being unhappy with what we got.
