PC EU also dropped, from 2.1% to 0.8%.

Guess we were progressing too fast!

I did mention in another thread it wasn't staying up to date. Maybe they're trying to sync everything.

Hi all, we wanted to follow up based on some of your pings related to the progress percentage dropping. As much as we would like to blame the Worm Cult for fighting back, the progress percentage change is due to us fixing a bug affecting how progress was being displayed. Keep on fighting the Worm Cult to add more progress!

I was suprised it was even auto progressed and not someone changing the numbers manually. But this aha, quality.
This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.

-10/10! Well done ! Smashing! Best event EVER! So good that not even its MAIN event works ! Way to go! Thank you zos! Also bye Zos! Another sub has ended tonight! <3<3<3. If we're gonna be treated like pts testers, might as well pay as much: ZERO!

There comes a time in the life of a player when that more than indulgent : "People do work hard for these things, it is an online situation, things are bound to happen, etc. etc. " becomes one too many!

And after years of excusing all kinds of bugs and failures, precisely because they weren't impacting a casual's flow into the game itself too much, if at all, this has really put the cherry on the proverbial cake. If not even casuals can enjoy casual stuff like events anymore, 'tis high-time one retires from what has been a lovely ride for as long as it lasted. But no more.

I can't help but think they nerfed the rate for ps eu (amongst others).

problem is it went live primetime eu, so eu being ahead should have been expected.

plus everyone is farming hard on day 1 to clear golden etc.

from day 2 now everyone will be farming less and we'll see like 1-2%/day and they'll have to un-nerf it so it doesn't run for 50-100 days.

but you've just disheartened everyone by nefing it so everyone will just be like... "why bother". they'll just log a few toons for the crafting dailys to avoid the horrible rng on all the other stuff.

I have tracked the percentages shown on the website over the last 9 hours. Here is a graph of them.

    krx83g96dwyg.png

(Data was polled once every 5 minutes. Every horizontal major gridline is 1 hour.)

Anywhere the value goes down is manipulation from zos.

It is also suspicious to me that ps4 NA, xbox NA and PC NA went up sequentially twice.

Think if, on Western Solstice, they would have gave us the possibility to choose to side with stirk fellowship or worm cult (a real roleplay choise amazing for "evil" character), and now the unique once in a lifetime event would have been players sided with strik fellowship against player sided with worm cult, one trying to destroy the wall and another one trying to make it stronger. That challange would have been more incentivating than the "server challange" in my opinion. Anyway it was just an idea i had reading your comment :D

Now THAT would have been an amazing event indeed!

The crazy thing is, that the speed is soo slow now.
I mean, we are just about one day into the event and PC EU is stuck at 2% of phase one. Means we'll be stuck doing dailies for the next 40 to 50 days! And that's just phase one...

I don't think this is working as intended.

Don't worry, all events were ending "just in time" as always no matter players falling off after first couple days to negligible numbers, you've bought the pass and will get the zone on a day they've planned. No conspiracies here about fake meters, as we can't know that for a fact, but just an observation how it was every single of those events.

They'll reduce the requirements (or manually adjust the bar) again when participation starts to drop off.

I'm sure they are tracking player activity on all the servers, but I'm also sure they have a release schedule they need to stick to and cannot allow this to drag on too long, and absolutely cannot allow the outcome of their once-in-a-lifetime "history making" event to be that not enough people played it.

No matter what we do we'll reach the finale sometime between Update 48 and the end of the year, probably mid-late November.

you are misunderstanding me. I wasn't suggesting that the bugs are excusable, I said it was more likely to be bugs rather than ZOS manipulating progress behind the scenes.

I don't believe the website progress is real time.PS-EU is currently at 4% in game, but still at 2% on the website. It would have been much more useful if they wanted it as a competition between the server to make it real-time. Would be great if we would be told when/how often it is updated.

I don't remember what they said during the live stream about the event, but I'm pretty sure that the in-game progress screen is a real-time number whereas the web page is updated much less frequently. Remembering back to other community events such as for Summerset, Elsweyr, and Skyrim, the event web pages were updated perhaps once a day IIRC.

Then it was just updated. Is see it also in my browser. And I did refresh a few minutes ago when it showed just 2%.
