Indeed. Lots of folk out here trying to take Grey Host away from those who enjoy it. It's strange.

No, the war shall rage forever. I want to see what comes out of Vengeance.

Question: Did zos ever explain why its called Vengeance? If not... Could that allude to a hint if the next chapter?

It seems pretty obvious to me that Vengeance is meant to avenge all the long years of frustration caused by lag, the biggest nemesis of the PvP community and the devs who had to suffer through all those performance-related posts. It has nothing to do with PvE stories and realms imho.

Ya, not sure how the OP could be viewed as anything other than a violation of the ToS.

    Lmao what

Asking if PvP should be removed from the game is, in my opinion as well, fits the definition of baiting and trolling.

    From the ToS:

"Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community."

OP is asking a question, and it is a poll. I would understand if it were a discussion titled "PvP must be removed now", but it isn't, and just because you're overreacting it doesnt make it against ToS. If you still have doubts, open a ticket and see how swiftly a disciplinary action will be taken lol.

    This community is so sensitive.

Yes. Some people should go out more often. Get some sunshine, touch some grass, etc.

They won't be able to do that even from a story perspective alone. Combine that with their recent attempts to tinker with PvP and that's a resounding no, they seem to be interested in revitalising the mode somehow and bring people who have left or weren't able to get in for one or another reason boiling it down to it's essence, doesn't really sounds like they have some plans to discontinue the mode/zone, more like add some other option for ones who were left out for years.

Look at their card game, there's like 10 or so observable dedicated players total, it's still part of the game and would probably be for foreseeable future.

Only if you replace it with something else, large scale open....

One idea i had was keeping 1v1v1 but introduce a 4th npc faction that attacks everyone...for example an invading akaviri force that conquers landmarks over time, maybe even including world bosses in tgeir ranks you have to get back vs the other human factions...

Narratively, yes, it should end, but not gameplay-wise. Ever since the end of the Orsinium DLC, ZOS has tried to continue this idea that the entire of ESO takes place in a single year: 2E 582. This is just absurd given how much content keeps getting released and makes the whole narrative utterly unbelievable. What do you mean the alliances were hosting peace talks in High Isle to end the "horrible bloodshed" of... several months of fighting? It just doesn't make sense. Not even roleplayers adhere to this because of how foolish it is.

ZOS should abandon the notion that ESO takes place in a single year and revise all the in-game text they've added since the end of Orsinium correcting the timeline, and then end the Three Banners War with some kind of narrative arc so that there's not this decades-long war in Tamriel's history that seemingly no one talks about or remembers centuries later.

That being said, the gameplay of Cyro PvP should stay. It's a staple of the game and most PvPers I know play Cyro, not Battlegrounds. They'd be angering a big chunk of their playerbase by removing it, especially since it's a rather unique aspect of ESO compared to other big MMOs. And also because it offers a lot of possibilities for expansion in terms of mechanics (e.g., supply caravans, opening the Imperial City, etc). Why remove it when you can build on it?

Isn't the game permanently stuck set in 582 year of the second era, war doesn't end until the 601 year of the second era.

Even if they do some time travel shenanigans, to conclude the war, I don't like the idea of a game mode being removed just because it isn't the most played by the entire player base, would rather see how all these vengeance tests work out, to hopefully fix some of the issues with Cyrodill's PVP.

Make the Three Banners War end lore-wise, but allow us to queue into it still. PvP cyrodiil would take place in the past.

Create a campaign as dlc that is only PvE, new quests, story, etc in cyrodil.

    Keep greyhost as is.

Why do they need to remove something or change something.

    Just add MORE.

Speaking of PvP. Just add old bg’s back.
Again, that was something that was replaced.

Nothing should ever be replaced. Just add more stuff.

End the war in the storyline. How about: Ayren gets assassinated by that Altmer cult that was trying to kill her in her storyline (forget the name) and the king of Skyrim and the king of Daggerfall get together to divide things up while Elswyr and Black Marsh fall into chaotic disarray and the high elves fall back on their haunches, kick everyone else out of Summerset Isles, and hatch some kind of plot, possibly involving Daedra.

Keep Cyro - Gray Host as legacy, make a new Cyrodiil rebuilding PVE quest zone, and open up another segment of the map as big scale PVP.

ZOS, I love the game, so my idea is free of charge.

I think PVP should kept, but updated:

Now that the planemeld has ended, the daedra lose control of the Imperials of Cyrodiil and Imperial City. The Imperials (and those who choose to ally with them) then regroup to eliminate the remaining daedra and work to push out the invading alliances.

Proposal: Update PVP to add a fourth alliance. For Cyrodiil, have their base in the center surrounding Imperial City, but with no keeps to themselves - they have to capture the keeps from the alliances.

For Imperial City, have the faction around the tower in the center. From there, they have to push outward to capture the districts.

Honestly, Cyrodil is so much about pushing and holding the map when the other alliances aren't playing. So much so that having a "night crew" is really all the difference in any individual campaign. You can still own prime time, but you will still lose the campaign if you don't have a good night crew. This puts the emphasis on a small handfull of players putting in a TON of hours to win a campaign.

I'd like to see it where if the server population drops below a certain threshhold, the Imperials push out and retake the map so NOBODY has the advantage of holding the map when there aren't enough players to actually fight over objectives. That way, players don't have to worry about going and running a night crew to be competitive in a campaign.

They're staying away because Cyrodiil has been so badly neglected that it's garbage and Vengeance doesn't fix it.

    I have a suggestion
For starters, I do NOT want current Cyrodiil PvP removed! We all enjoy different parts of the game, and none of those parts should even be taken away from players(bring back 3-team BG's as well). ZOS does need to launch a permanent vengeance test 1 + quests/merchants to the live server.

However, I do want this stupid three banner war to end... and maybe Cyrodiil's current PvP style can live on in 1 campaign, vengeance in another campaign, and maybe a new format of Cyrodiil PvP for after the war. Maybe all three factions versus a powerful/evil NPC faction(groups of raid bosses powerful), a faction that keeps taking back the keeps/resources for non-stop action.

Right now, in all the newer stories(expansions/DLC) we are working together with all three alliances. The entire point of having this three banner war is gone and nonsense now. Keep one current live Cyrodiil active with a lore reason of 'rogue alliance agents' to keep this alive. But move on to a new format of war/PvP already.

PS: We should all live in peace! :sunglasses:

    Keep it as it is
PvP populations even prior to the undaunted/vengeance events has been low and isn't like when it was years ago where there would be massive battles has died down to small groups taking keeps. With how the story currently is should cyro's pvp be removed, kept as it is, or have a suggestion that would help bring cyro back alive.

    Edit:
I also should make it clear, this is mainly based on how the story is going and not just on pvp population being lowered. I myself want to see cyro keep going but made this poll out of curiosity to see how others feel about cyro and maybe bunch together a bunch of suggestions. Seeing that at the time of this edit that there is 0 votes for removal actually makes me happy to see that people still want it. This isn't about removing it entirely.

Also a bit of a theory Is the campaign called Vengeance a hint of the future story of ESOs next chapter?
(Not taking server performance into this, just cyro in general)

No, the 3 Banners War should not end. The writers should find a way to embroil the entirety of ESO in the War. Connect the game. Add long term escalating loyalty rewards to each Alliance (increasing month over month, year over year and come from the Kings and Queen).

Add new quests and rewards from the Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood that contribute to each Alliance's War effort (DC currently enjoys an overwhelming advantage in Cold fires in the market due to Cyro dolmen placement, this should end). The devs should let the players select Cyrodiil scroll quests from a menu.

Make enemy banners change to Grey and Yellow/Blue/Red for 1 campaign when players transfer Alliances (or some similar mechanic).

Let players opt-in to long term escalating Alliance loyalty rewards systems that increase month by month over 1 year, and then multiple years.

Get the Gods, Daedra and deity's involved and make their presence known through story and character manipulation as well as Alliance specific rewards.

Let towns people and NPCs make comments specific to the player's character based on Alliance and the state of the Campaigns.

Add stairs to both sides of the gates, or add water (slaughter fish) or lava features under them and make them destructible like the Alessia bridge.

Add more weapons, colors, pets and mount skins variations specific to each Alliance, to the Crown store.

ZOS should drop in more weapons to counter the Hammer - Maybe a resto to heal or rez the dead in droves or a shield that makes a wall or barrier to protect, etc. 1 Alliance per weapon, make a mechanic to make it fair.

Make player choices matter - You shouldn't be a Vampire or Werewolf AND feel welcome in the Fighters Guild. The Fighters Guild abilities should grey out and become unusable, the NPC guild masters should note and comment on your choice. They should let you know there are consequences in Cyrodiil. Make it a sub-War.

Add a mechanic to lower the central bridges in Cyrodiil, give us a central tower fight in Zone and add unique rewards for each level an Alliance ascends...
Do something fun, go back to the Original intro video and build some excitement. The game's Gods are boring lately and feel disconnected. War intrigue and drama is an old, simple concept with tons of room for complexity.
