For this first run, I'm on a copied alt who's completed pretty much everything relevant (MQ / guild quests / Cadwell's Gold / all DLC Chapters / Zone questlines) and I'll be focusing on quests and dialogue.

I'm having loads of fun so far, and I love the ghostly 'sreaming souls' addition to the Writhing Wall's animation when you're up close, but I have a few things to ask about already (several are repeats from last PTS which weren't resolved or responded to).

The 'revive point' wayshrine inside Tarnur Mine still has an activation prompt visible (not interactive though) which I've also noticed on PC/Live recently:
o8cdq926ksja.png

The binding energy flows to the shrines, not from them as the dialogue states it should, can this animation be reversed?
https://youtu.be/PBPJbkNA2ys

With the delve quests, Darien will only act as a follower on the way to the first location (per previous PTS patches), but I'd noticed even then his dialogue is different depending on which point you visit first, and it seems more relevant with the 'first / second' location dialogue if you visit Li-Xal Pass before Tarnur Mine, vs the other way around.
(I'll record a clean run of this later showing both versions with all dialogue and post the link as an Edit)

These lines still only trigger after we examine the points in the Wall, despite Darien being the one who's supposed to locate and 'react with' the distortions so we can see them:
First location is Tarnur Mine:
fro177bfq3md.png
Second location is Li-Xal Pass:
t94djmxz5dvb.png

It's great that Mannimarco's note to Necromancer Hezsatari in the Tarnur Mine shrine location can now be read, but the 3 cultists
and their bone colossus still respawn far too fast - after only 15 seconds - so there's too little time to read it before they're back and interrupting you:
https://youtu.be/r0H8BRlvPhA

Whereas the cultists at the end of the Seacave have glitchy or nonexistent shields, with the only one visible sitting much higher than the ones at the other site:
h8z6t7utmv5g.png

Also, Darian delivered his 'destroy it' line mid-fight in Tarnur, rather than closer to the shrine itself afterwards:
gkky1lv622k0.png

In the Sea Cave shrine location, Darien delivers his 'destroy it' line once we reach the foot of the stairs leading to it, which is much better placement, but the line used seems to be more relevant if this was the first shrine we'd found:
vmtpb3w02uuu.png

Then after the Fissure Ruins delve, why does Darien imply he'll be coming along once we've made the initial breach in the Wall? He doesn't switch to follower mode, and there was no sign of him at any point on the way to the Wall, at the portal, or in the Writhing Fortress' pocket of Coldharbour. Nothing. He stayed right here and just repeated himself when I came back to recheck:
7u5qsgwujdn7.png
Is the line intended for a different quest?

These might need the colour saturation dialled up (left are blue, right are orange, for those who're struggling):
ds15moiwxsu2.png
I have no issue differentiating colours (qualified gemologist with a zero on all color blindness tests), but even I find these too washed out in-game when they're all on the same setting and other effects are going on all around me, so they could be a big problem for players with genuine sight issues.
Another solution might be to have a different symbol for each version?

I'm not sure where to put this so I'm putting it here-- why did you make us do the writhing wall quest to test the 2nd half of the story? Is the version on the PTS the version that players would experience after the writhing wall event has concluded or is it a part of the event? It was conceptually interesting but painful and confusing given that there were 3-5 of us doing a 20+ person job on suboptimal builds. I had to subclass mid event just to lessen the pain.

Additional comments on writhing wall:
• Repeatedly confusing. NPCs continue to yell directions even when the objective is complete (ex. break the crystal but the crystal is already broken and the bridge is up). The quests were also not updating correctly (ex. "clear a path to the colossus" but the path is already cleared, had me confused on what to do even though the path was right there).
• In the final boss fight, the grapples were hard to target. You have to blindly move your cursor around underneath the platform and ones I had clear line of sight on were not letting me use them.
• Because the final fight took so long (and we wiped 2x), the prince's constant directions were getting really frustrating. I knew what to do at that point.
• I'm not sure the lightning stacks will do anything when there's the total amount of people. Having to hide to cleanse the stacks was hardly a concern even with so few people.

Despite my frustrations, I hope that the attack on the writhing wall can be a part of future "celebrate Solstice" events. I can tell a lot of effort went into it and most people probably won't see the effort as I imagine on live everything will just be obliterated unless its heavily buffed. I think this kind of event is a step in the right direction (sans confusing quest directions and constantly repeating dialogue, it would be nice to have an event of this scale for each of the in-game holiday events instead of more fetch/fight this one thing quests) and reminds me of the turnout of GW2's world events, so it's a shame to only happen one time.

Hi Soarora,

Thanks for the feedback! We’ll review the points you called out.

Regarding the main story issue, the quest should progress once the wall is breached on the server. We’ll investigate this internally and fix it in an upcoming PTS patch so that when the wall opens, the quest advances properly to the next phase.

On a template alt, CP3600, having picked up 'The Worm Turns' from Azah:

We meet Skordo in the Grand Juncture Pass and he relays a dead Argonian's final words to us, before saying he'll head back to update Prince Azah.
But he then runs further east to the barricade at the top of the rise with the other soldiers, rather than heading back towards the Rampart Camp, and will repeat the same dialogue about taking Azah the news:

The game crashes so much it is nearly unplayable — I have never had ESO crash so much on three different PCs and different internet connections, by the way. I thought, “maybe it was me.” Most of the game is playable if I turn the graphics settings way down and use no companion — but the Writhing Fortress is impossible. Did anyone figure out a way to bypass it to get to the rest of the zone story in the East? It seems you have to do the “Helping the Fellowship” quest to get to the power source, which continues the zone story. Is it possible to teleport to another player who already got past that? The crashes in the fortress, plus the difficulty, are not fun.

Standing too close to the altar (behind it) during the explosion in the "destroy the ritual altar" phase of Crossing the Wall can cause you to get stuck in the collision of the platform Mannimarco is on.

It was definitely a big difficulty swing from doing the Fortress to doing some of the main quests where bunches of the npcs had less than 20k hp.

I would note that on the Dark Acolyte Harvester fight my Potato PC had significant difficulty with processing the environment and got horrible FPS.

The fight was easy enough on my build with a companion that it didn't matter but, someone on a worse build without a companion might get stuck on that fight if they have similar levels of bad performance.

it might have been a fluke but, it might be something you might want to check if you've got access to a horrible PC/old console.

My companion did end up dying multiple times to the improved soul reapers as she followed me even after I attuned into the Argonian thing.

Any chance we could get a variant of the Argonian thing as a Chaos Ball Transformation at some point it was kinda fun but, we didn't get that much time to use it.

The finishing blow on the final boss was quieter sound wise than I expected.

Overall, I'd say the experience for the main story was pretty good with the story both being finished and also offering possible future stories down the line.

+1 both of these. I couldn’t figure out why the first trio of cultists could only be interacted with one at a time until I ran into the second set and saw they were supposed to have shields.

I also ran into an issue in the Tenmur Mine where Darien said we were supposed to be following the chains and we were. 😕 I’m assuming that’s supposed to trigger if I go down the wrong branch.

Is there a way to progress the Eastern Solstice Main Quest line without being present at the completion of the Writhing Fortress?

I've been trying everyday since the PTS started but have never got near to completing the fortress quests.

I'm using a cp3600 template with as strong a build as I can make it.

Sorry, not currently - it will be possible after a later patch, but it won't be done on Monday's one from what we've been told so far.
At the moment, the only way any alt is getting past is by killing Zysax the titan/final boss.
You don't need to be part of the earlier sections, but you do need to be there to beat him if you want to achieve it.

I'm hoping the dye slots for Darien's new cuirass were mixed up, because currently it looks awful.

Taking a closer look:
wzydftfl2mv1.png

It appears the dye used for the leather parts in his gauntlets/greaves/sabatons (Materials Rank 7 by any chance?) has been slotted for the scaled portions of his cuirass, and the dye that should have been on those is on his tabbard/gambeson?

Because playing around with it myself (not that I have the dyes for the metals figured out yet, but this is close enough), if I switch them 'back' he'll look like this instead, and I think it's a big improvement (spoilered to save space):
0gmhec1mri5l.png

Please, please, change it from what it currently is, because to me that gambeson looks like something salvaged from one of the sulfur pools in Eastmarch, at least a decade after someone abandoned it there because they couldn't get the mustard stains out.

I also somehow ended up with him in the new set too early, with a line of dialogue from much later in the questline, after my game timed out at the beginning of 'Hunt For The Great Mage':
k4k3h2ppumxu.png

Based on where it fits between Azah's lines, I think he should have been saying this at the time:
(recorded right before my game timed out, so he's still in his Golden Knight armor)

Running a copied alt who's completed:
- Camlorn & Cath Bedraud / Rivenspire / MQ only to completion of Sancre Tor
- Fighters Guild Quest / Thieves Guild / Dark Brotherhood
- Summerset
But has not completed Alik'r / Bangkorai (both partials) or begun Coldharbour.
(Completed part2 questline in full without interference from the bug affecting alts who have completed Coldharbour.)
This is feedback from reviewing footage I recorded prior to the first patch, so please disregard anything that has already been resolved - once the Coldharbour bug is completely fixed I'll recheck everything while running the copy of my main through.

Feedback on The Worm Turns:
In the Junction Pass, after Skordo says he'll go update Prince Azah, he runs to a location in the opposite direction instead of back towards the Rampart Camp.

I love the little yelp of protest from Raz when Darien mentions his idea to us, as well as their comments about Darien's lack of stealthiness (I'm also relieved Raz doesn't appear to have mentioned my Vestige's connection to the Dark Brotherhood or what happened in Anvil to Darien... yet?).

The 'Monthly Report from Dark Adept Bruhlz' found in the Wormcult camp whilst 'rummaging' has a spelling error:
vhoo3z30acig.png

(very excited by the reference to the ballista back in the Crystal Tower showing up in one of Darien's lines on the Eastern Overlook!)

Meeting Azah at the bridge, he and the soldier beside him were sunk into it, but he popped out when we drew close enough to trigger his greeting, leaving the soldier behind:
eu7stf0y9gqw.png

Already noted in bugs, but there are duplicate NPCs at the ballista positions if we run back into the camp after lighting the signal fire - no sign of Walks-In-Ash or Azah, though:
0uasukildqrh.png
pveusnl9bwzk.png
ext0ue813laj.png

Once up the ladder and into the Hold's midden vault, Darien spawns in near the base of the stairs and runs back towards us. He'll then stop at the base of the stairs when we reach that point, and face the far wall to deliver his ambient line, regardless of where we stand:
65z26g3hl5vd.png

At the Gate, if we approach too quickly, Darien will miss his mark and not deliver his line about there being two winches, even if we're not yet in position, let alone having pulled on it.
After we open the gate into Gristmung Hold for our allies to enter the Fortress, once we move from our winch Darien will sprint to our location then follow us back to where the others are standing (or wherever we go), can he be slowed to a more natural pace, or sent to a spot to deliver his line facing Skordo before then rejoining us?
ghrw094d3p15.png
Darien practically clipping to us:
https://youtu.be/4NDF875M6u0
If I run straight over to Skordo, his dialogue almost overlaps with Darien's during their banter.

Inside the Keep, in the soul flayer workshop Chamber, if we get within range of the table with the note on it too quickly, Darien's ambient line about 'anything important' will interrupt his one about the 'large monstrosity', cutting it off mid-line:
7vnn6hr7lqaq.png

I also had an incident when entering that room at too sharp and angle where Darien became stuck at the edge of the doorway and his dialogue couldn't be triggered, until I ran far enough away for him to reset to my positition and resume following me.

Speaking to Jeetra through the closed gate, her dialogue has a discrepancy between the audio/on-screen text:
st99x5fmhnd1.png

(When he can't get the Light to respond, being called 'Champion' by Darien hurt, but if I thought that was painful, I hadn't seen anything yet... although having Walks call us 'friend' a moment later, when she usually says 'champion' was a nice touch)

Continuing from previous, I'll separate each quest into a new reply as I continue through:

Feedback on Hunt for the Great Mage:
Immediately after starting the quest, whilst speaking with our allies in the campsite, the audio of some dialogue does not match the on-screen text:
w1aiitlrivoa.png
t0537gzp8bkh.png
8xjj344emo74.png
cfx9xuprkpru.png

My game timed out shortly after this, (before I had left the camp with Jeetra) and when I logged back in Darien had changed costume unexpectedly. Presuming it to be a glitch, I abandoned the quest and logged off/back to see if that would reset things. It didn't, but when I did the rounds of speaking to everyone else before Azah to restart the quest, Darien's dialogue had also changed from this:
grdjh7vdbymc.png
to a comment about Gabrielle which I believe belongs much later, during a different quest, but I can't place it, I'll update once I get to that point in my recording:
https://youtu.be/h6pccQk7CxE
UPDATE: This will also happen if the quest is abandoned / restarted after leaving the camp with Jeetra.

(Confirming after using an alt to check, that only the tiles with quest markers can be interacted with while unlocking the puzzle)

After unlocking the puzzle and reading Vanus's note, Jeetra has a dialogue mis-match between her audio and on-screen text:
92fysyedh2ag.png

On our way back to camp from the wayshrine, we find Darien and Jeetra bickering (and just when I was starting to like her, too...) and after Jeetra leaves, we can speak with Darien. The second response option / third line is missing its icon:
byjfye0dmpkp.png

I have a few things I'd like to have clarified here, because they'll raise some confusion for those who've played through the Glenumbra zone recently enough to recall the details: Darien's armor in Genumbra / Stormhaven wasn't the Lion Guard Captain set. We've never seen him in this before because it didn't even exist in the base game, it was released during the Pan-Tamriel Celebration earlier this year. When we first met Darien, he was called a Captain, but only introduced as the Captain of the Camlorn Guard, even by his father, and he was wearing something more akin to the Lion Guard Knight costume, so...
- Was that his day-to-day armor, and is this a more ceremonial set we just never saw?
- If you plan to revamp a lot of the base game content the way the starter zones already have been, will Darien be given a costume change to this set as part of that?
us0bnf8g23nr.png
Because here he implies this was something he wore back then.
Also, he told us before we left Camlorn that he was "...resigning from the Camlorn Guard."
- If his post in Camlorn was a role within the Lion Guard, as he tells us now, are the various town guards all members of the Lion Guard? Or only the officers?
- And by resigning that post, was he also leaving the order?
Because at the Lion Guard redoubt, it seems he's there as more of a mercenary than a fellow knight, and the only reference made to his status is Sir Lanis Sheldon calling him 'that idiot Darien' and 'a noble / reckless noble named Darien' leading some of the Camlorn Guard, before finishing with 'that fool from Camlorn', before we go looking for him in Cath Bedraud.
It would be nice to have some of this clarified in potential future content, maybe as part of a conversation with him during/after his intended visit with his father, whether we get to be a part of that or not?

This line might make more sense if the location for his chat with Jeetra, and the angle at which he is positioned, are adjusted:
1xmv870snwc9.png

Or the last two lines could be swapped with what he says in his next available dialogue screen, when we follow him back to the camp and can actually see Azah:
n55pwlbszvd8.png

Razum-dar has no mouth movement/animation when delivering this line:
kj505063gmqb.png

Spoilered because this is a quick mock-up based on pure copium and being shared as a joke, not a request.
The game only gives us the first line:
e9vy24lkv2gf.png
It really irritates me the way Azah shows zero sympathy towards Darien when he was willing enough to receive our help talking him out of his own dark mood in Shornhelm, not to mention he messed up in the Colored Rooms and it is never addressed.
That Grim line wouldn't be very helpful to the situation, but dear gods it would be so tempting to pick if I was given the option at this point.

Feedback on The Worm Turns:

Running my zero-shared-history-prior-to-Solstice template-alt though to recheck a few points and catch the differences, and a couple of things jumped out:

When breaking the portal anchors, the quest markers over the two we're able to smash are set rather high. Depending on the players' POV, they might not realise only two are meant for us, and Darien gets his pick between the others. Could these be lowered a bit to make this more obvious?
Also, Darien doesn't always complete his animation to smash a portal anchor, and won't at all if he's interrupted by combat.

If Darien is spoken to after smashing the last portal anchor but before the second note is found, he will still have this dialogue:
sw1z162hvgl9.png

I didn't find anything else new (except the response options for Darien, which had replaced the 'flirty' choices with a 'grim' one in both interactions, due to not meeting the requirements on this alt for his romance to unlock).

After completing 'The Worm Turns' but before picking up 'Hunt For The Great Mage'; while speaking with Walks-In-Ash there is a spelling error in the on-screen text of her dialogue:

The eyes in the back of Darien's head have x-ray vision:

Feedback on The Deep Tombs of Xul-Haj
Running on my CP3600 zero-shared-history Template:

If Darien is spoken to immediately upon exiting Jeetra's house, this is his dialogue screen if you haven't moved away first:

And his 'Out-of-Bounds' line triggered between there and the village's gateway leading to the road, while heading towards the quest marker:
5abyv33r2idh.png
(it also triggers if we run the other way around her house to reach the road)

Once at Xul-Haj, speaking with Deetra before entering will give a repeat of her dialogue from:
3abigipf1yis.png
all the way to this, despite the change in location making her last line sound misplaced:

84bf96o31gb2.png

With the trap-door, Darien disappears through before it opens, and the player can run out over the empty air without falling:
https://youtu.be/lJy__r36uKM
Could a temporary, invisible snare be placed to 'trip' the player if they attempt to follow while the trapdoor is open?

After positioning the second of the stones in the first cistern chamber, this ambient line from Jeetra cut off (may have been interrupted by combat?) and she then resumed speaking with an earlier line as though the task was still incomplete:
https://youtu.be/7wV1gURaMZo

With the second set of stones, after positioning the first stone (and opening the first gate blocking the second stone), Jeetra has no dialogue for this. Pushing the second stone through the gate (both gates), its animation was missing, causing it to clip forward with each hit while in close proximity to the gate:
https://youtu.be/B4uFl4z9ams
Once the first stone is repositioned to unlock the second gate, Jeetra will deliver an appropriate line:
yp3ek40nfn4i.png

After finding Darien, he doesn't follow us but remains standing in place whilst we continue on with Jeetra to find Vanus. He will eventually appear and resume following us once we go through the door into the Xul-Haj Funerary Temple.
Also, Jeetra will randomly use a 'tread water' swimming animation instead of a standing idle through this section. It seems to resolve itself after going through the same door/loading screen:
https://youtu.be/OWCGpYoIuq8

I may have paused to listen to Mannimarco's gloating a little too close to where the mobs began to spawn in, because as soon as they did Darien ran past me and entered combat. His ambient diaglogue then overlapped with Mannimarco's lines. I'll retry this from a hopefully safer distance on my next run.

- After completing 'The Deep Tombs of Xul-Haj'
- Once 'The Gates of Mor Naril' has been started
Everyone else has new lines at each point, so he's missing out.

The Worm Cultist we pass with Raz while heading for the western camp at Mor Naril has no subtitles (at least at the distance I was from him) for his line about Mannimarco. (I will recheck on an alt from a closer distance)

In the Library of the Sea And Stone Lodge, the dialogue for Librarian Tindensea has a discrepancy:

I love the animation used when she summons the books, the touch of whimsy it gives at this stage is so welcome.

Jeetra says she will read over our shoulder, but she remains by the door the entire time, so I don't know how she managed that.

At the brazier puzzle to enter the Vaedinhill Vault, we can interrupt Jeetra's initial dialogue:

with her comment about the order being important if we light the wrong one too quickly:

her one for it working will probably do the same thing?

Once back in the Fellowship's campsite near Mor Naril, and speaking to everyone before talking to Elder Tso-Nassa, Skordo has a glitch in his dialogue's animation:

When passing the eyes to Elder Tso-Nassa, there is only one visible in his hand despite him referring to them in the plural.

Speaking with everyone after this, but before talking to Azah, Darien has a glitch in his dialogue's animation:
Very kindly uploaded by Allia while my uploads are on cooldown:

Vanus has the same line of dialogue after we speak with Azah as he did before we spoke with him (if we have not yet completed the quest) despite everone else having a new line:

Azah's animation for "Look south, comrade", his first words after we complete 'The Gates of Mor Naril' has him pointing with his right arm, towards the north (or northeast/northwest depending on the angle we'd approached him from):

For some reason even though it is my active quest in my Journal, the marker in my compass for 'Crossing the Wall' is dark:

And the commentary for it when 'centered' in my compass is trying to point me back to speak with Azah, which was several quest stages ago. (copied alt on v11.2.2)
There is also still a marker for his position below the Rampart Camp visible on my compass, despite him no longer being there:

Still there even after completing the Fissure Ruins Delve and being told to speak with Skordo about his plans for once the Wall is breached.
