Me and friends can clear a base game dungeon (numbered ones) in under 4 minutes, non-numbered (plus CoA2) in under 10 minutes. and most vet DLCs in under 15 minutes - and by clear I mean everything - even with a random DD.

We are a corteous bunch, if someone looks like they are doing the quest we will wait in the varies places that needed to be waited at to not break the quest, but after that we'll still speed through because we are there for rewards/gear/loot and have done them countless times, and they lack challenge.

The solution to speed running: Make your own group.

This. And even if not hardmode scrolls - there are dungeons with that thing, you know, DOORS. And while speedrunning for example FG is not a problem anyways, dung like VoM or BH became really waste of time when someone in group rushes like he misses the train and then all get stuck at the door. Yesterday I experience speedrunning normal Castle Thorn and Stone Garden and it was really annoying, because we stuck multiple times for at least 5 minutes, while just simlpe killing all the mobs would taken us like a 5 sec per pack. Really speedrun, indeed ¬_¬

Pledges are kinda housekeeping for me so i like getting them done as fast as possible...if i have a runner that just beams me from boss to boss is a plus for me...

Well, here's a thought: How about all he speed runners stop wading in the kiddle pool complaining about how crowded it is and go over to the adult pool? It's what veteran dungeons are for, the adult pool...

I think you’re missing the point. People don’t want to run the older content… at all. The carrot on the stick, being the Undaunted Event, is pushing us into those queues.

Normal or Veteran it doesn’t matter, you get the same reward, maybe if the rewards equated to time expectancy you’d have more people queuing for Vet, but why would anyone queue for a random Veteran Dungeon just to land in a half decade old Lair of Maarselok that lasts 30 minutes due to mechanics designed to waste your time, to get the same reward as someone who ran Normal Fungal Grotto I in 4 minutes? It doesn’t make sense.

Like earlier suggested, if you don’t want fast dungeons, find a group that shares your interest and run with them. Random is random.

Speed running is a first world problem. In other words, it's not a problem.

People should be speeding through normal dungeons as fast as possible anyway. We've all done them too many times already. No reason to go back ever except for the event boxes and tickets.

If you don't want to speed run group with some like minded friends. But don't go telling the rest of us we have to change our normal behavior just for you.

My issue is that they get so far ahead, and I can't even see the enemies because they haven't loaded on my screen yet or I keep getting hit with loading screens

I am the tank, I can't tank if I can't see the boss. I also can't tank if I used all my stamina running to keep up with them. They all die. I am doing veteran dungeons, not normal dungeons.

Your expectation: Everyone will link hands with you, hopping and skipping to meticulously kill every mob in the dungeon.

Reality: Now there's no need to even finish a dungeon. People just farm trash packs that are the closest to the start of the dungeon. There are many dungeons in which it would be more efficient to switch characters and queue into another instance to hit the opening trash packs than it is to keep going once you reach the first boss. Wayrest 2 for example, by the time the door opens I can be in another Wayrest 2.

What trips me up about this is that in base game dungeons things die so fast, even in vet, but it takes more time to wait for the 'stuck in combat message' to go away in order to get through doors, etc., so you can actually save yourself time later by killing the trash packs (plus they can drop gear loot), and a couple of times I've mentioned this in runs but people ignored it and of course we got stuck in a door and had to wait anyway

The event doesn't require players to farm FG1. If it's so old and boring, there are newer dungeons to run. A couple just in the last month or so, and a couple more a few months before that.

I would love if my random queue gave me newer dungeons in priority, that just doesn’t happen often, for me it’s either Lair of Maarselok or Fungal Grotto 1. 😂

And the more you think "I'll just run a quick RND" or have any other kind of time pressure, like 20 minutes before trial starts, the likelihood of getting Maarselok increases.

Are you awake? This has been happening in the game for a long time. With an average DPS and good self-recovery of life, neither a tank nor a heal is needed. Basic dungeons can be completed even by veteran and HM in one. The group is needed to receive a bonus or as objects for scattering mob damage.
I know every basic dungeon well. But I look at who's in the group, then I write to the chat and only then I start the race. The exception is when there is no time, like today before the server shutdown.
This is a problem and the bane of aging games.
