Yesss, having a Lizard-Bear skin would honestly give me a reason to want to use the skill. The more lizard content the better imo.

It makes more sense for Feral Guardian skill styles to always be bears. That said, utilizing the Lizard-Bear model would be a great way to give the model some visual variety while keeping it a bear.

The Lizard-Bear uses the same animations as regular bears do, so there shouldn't be an issue swapping the model. Then ZOS would just have to put those glowing runes/eyes on the Lizard-Bear model and it's all set as a proper Feral Guardian skill style.
