Why can't I link my house to my guild message of the day? (Help please)

Hi forum friends,
I'm beyond frustrated at this stage after spending hours trying to do something that is very simple for many players.
1. I went to my primary and I set permissions for my guild.
2. I went to my collections > house I wanted to link in guild motd then clicked on add link to chat
3. It put it in my chat @IDand the house name but when I tried to ctrl c to copy the ctrl v in guild message of the day...nothing happened.

I turned off some addons reloaded ui...
I know my copy/paste commands work cos I tested I outside eso.
I'm on Windows 10.

All the help online seems aimed at console. I understand why...pc should be an easy process
Please help...ty

I don't know if this helps, but I just linked an invite to my main house in chat, copied the link text, and pasted it into Notepad to see what it looked like, and it says

    |H1:housing:##:@Account|h|h

where ## is the house number and Account is the player's account name. You can see a list of house numbers at the following page:

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Player_Housing

For example, if your account name is @BestESOplayer and your house is Ald Velothi Harbor House, the link text would be

    |H1:housing:44:@BestESOplayer|h|h

since the house ID number for Ald Velothi Harbor House is 44.

So if you aren't able to paste the link directly, perhaps you could type it in manually using that format? I don't know if it will work, but it's worth a try.

    I had this issue
When I went to the link in my chat I was not highlighting the link before ctrl+c to copy. You need to go to the beginning of the link on chat and make sure you click till link is highlighted the click in guild about us information page and press ctrl+v
