until last year i could have said the same thing. then they banned me. no explanation, no appeal, i spoke to the director of customer serivce and they indicated that they didnt know why i was banned, and couldn't tell me why. even though none of my transactions violated their policies.

It is cool. combined with something like the minotaur polymorph it's also a bit bigger. Definitely a cool new mount.

I was excited for it until I previewed it. Sadly, I just don’t like the oily looking skin texture and color, it looks like it was recently saved from a tar pit. I’m hoping for another one down the line that has a more natural looking color and texture. Of course, the next one might look like exploding rainbows instead.

Keep in mind, Crown Packs are on sale for a few more hours. If you are buying the 5500 Crown Pack to get the mammoth, what normally would cost $39.99 would only cost $27.99. Of course, if you don't have the $27.99 right now this is a moot point, but just in case you aren't aware of the Crown Sale, Friday you would have to pay $12.00 more to get the mammoth. I only buy Crowns when they are on sale, then spend them very carefully until the next sale when I can get more.

Same here. I was thinking this the other day. ZoS severely limits the amount of real life gold they could earn by limiting sales to specific time periods.

I have mixed feelings about the mammoth mount, but I agree with an earlier poster that it should probably be kept in the store rather than having limited availability. (And maybe offer frequent discounts?)

That said, I would make some tweaks, notably:

Lower its maximum speed. Yes, I know bull elephants can be pretty quick on the charge. But seeing mammoths zipping around in super-speed mode doesn't just break immersion, it obliterates it!
Mammoths should be automatically dismissed whenever a player enters a city. I mean, think of those poor street sweepers whose constant lament is that their job is taking longer than expected! Not only do they have to constantly clean up the mess left behind by all those duels, now they have to clear up all the mammoth dung too?

I think the first version of all new mount types should be crown store permanently instead of temporarily. They should also be the basic type so people get an idea of what that type of mount should look like. Fancier later versions are okay for FOMO/Crates but it's lame to treat the basic ones that way.

There is likely to be other elephats in the future. This is probably just the first of many, and if we can judge by past behavior, future mammoths/elephats will be much more fancy and desirable than the first iteration of them. So I wouldn't panick, even if you can't get the mammoth before it goes away.

Mounts have all had the same speed and other characteristics for a long time now. Unless this new mount was introduced as the first mount that would be different — lower adjusted speed but higher adjusted stamina and/or resistance to dismounting, for example — that might have been an option. In any case, now that they’ve been sold, it would not be fair to those players to change how the mount works now. Players could themselves remove CP and Assault skill point mount speed bonus if they wish to lower max speed, but it would not be right to impose an unexpected handicap after people have bought the mount.

To my mind there is a meaningful difference between "you should not do that" (negative, judgemental, policing), and "are you sure you want to do that?" (positive, friendly, supporting). The latter was my intent, but evidently this did not come across sufficiently clearly.

I'm glad you brought this up in polite manner. It's very easy to take internet posts the wrong way these days. Ill admit, even I, myself, have every now and then also made this mistake as well. Hopefully the mods won't remove your earlier post.

mammoth ? just wait and hope it makes its rounds to endevour points one day, me i really want the 8 k crown crate teleport but no way im spending that much cash on it because its connected to 25 crates or paying someone 16mill for it on todays market either (i never bought crowns before from another player but i just cant bring myself to hand over 16 mill even though its at a really low point crown-wise) was made up with the new shield bash style for i think 1k endevours though, i am tempted for horse mount too 16k endevours but been holding out a very long time now for one specific mount to return after i was a few k short last time
